JNSQVolumetrics | v3.0.1 - Final Approach

I second your sentiment in the OP about feeling burnt out. I was playing with the configs a lot independently, and jeez is it frustrating.

Edit edit: Seems I need to learn how to play with the in-game editors, because my text-based method is too slow for experimentation.

Edit: Blackrack gave a workaround for the "sunflare passing through planet issue" here. Note that this is related to deferred rendering only.

That's the average sky in the UK right there. So if that's what you're going for, spiffing job! BTW the Kerbin aurora is sweet.

How do I get blackrack's volumetric clouds working with this? I have to delete the remove stock clouds config to even get clouds to be visible at all, and they are just normal 2D clouds. I have the volumetric clouds from his Patreon, but I don't see how to get it to work with JNSQ. I already installed this, too.

This is awesome! Thanks very much for working this. I had been bummed that my JNSQ playthrough was lacking the wow factor that volumetrics afford. I saw this release and immediately had to try it out. Here's a few screenshots from my Gemini V mission. Wenbro and Maudin Kerman had much better views from their capsule thanks to you!

Jumping on the praise train!

Went for a new JNSQ playthrough, but couldn't make myself ignore all those incredible new mods so much that I even started working on a volumetrics patch myself lol. Needless to say that you overtaking me with the release and delivering this beautiful addon makes me so much happier :D

Edit: After comparing with stock volumetrics, I do see a similar but less pronounced tile effect. It might be more obvious here because there are larger and relatively flatter clouds areas. Also, I was probably unlucky when testing JNSQ volumetrics the first time to load at a time when there weren't really lower level  clouds. I still think there might not be enough low level cumulus clouds compared to higher altitude clouds, but will fly around more.  Overall Kerbin looks great though!

Another thing I noticed which seems weird so far, Duna looks like this: DazNgMI.png

At other times it looks like there are global dust storms, but I haven't seen it look normal yet.

Original: Is it supposed to look tiled like this? And is it mostly 1 layer?

(I don't know how to upload files on here)

There is no facility to do so. :( The alternative option is to use a file-sharing service (such as Dropbox): upload the files there and post the sharing link here.

I’m new to using forums, if I read this correctly, this is support for true volumetric clouds for jnsq, right?

Exactly correct.

I feel like I must be missing something really basic here. I've installed MM4.2.3, blackrack's latest as well as deferred rendering, this mod, and the latest version of scatterer and I still can seem to get the clouds to work. I also have JNSQ Parallax installed.

Is it an in-game editor thing I need to do? Its even more frustrating because i've gotten cloud configs working before In Eve!

Apologize for the amateur question. You'd think I had less than 10 hours in this game instead of 1200...

Hard to tell without further info or a log file for the modders to take a look, but just in case: did you install EVE or Scatter from CKAN? That could be the problem. Also Deferred Rendering requires to install the needed FIX files in order EVE Volumetrics 4 to work

It's an important thing that a lot of people forget to do. :prograde:
