This! The single biggest problem with Kerbal Space Program (How basic the core gameplay is aside, due to lack of life support and meaningful stations/colonies), the fact the Kerbol system is really quite devoid of stuff. In the real world, Saturn alone has like 146 confirmed moons, 146! That's more bodies than the entire Kerbol system, combined and multiplied! That's *just* Saturn.

 

So, this kind of work to KSP is like the best. Even though there's an uncountable number of mods for KSP at this point there's a distinct lack of 'flavour' for the stock (and extended stock) system. These random, oddball asteroid/minor planets really add to that flavour, back to the real world we have bizarre objects like Ultima Thule, Eros, and so on in addition to the proper, spherical bodies.

Oh boy, you have no idea how precisely you have hit the sweet spot of what I wanted a planet mod to do. I have just started a completely fresh run just because of it. It just makes the Star System so much more alive.

Can you make more Kerbin moons. theres already one on the site but he one and done them??? so im wondering if you can make one and it be compatible with minmar kerbin rings by lithium_7? please i know ap classes are alot Ik should know(im in college myself. im currently procastanateing on a 200 word discussion . a 10 word lede and a quiz lol)

Try temporarily removing Minor Planets Expansion, and if that fixes it then reinstall the mod but remove the parallax config folder for now until that gets patched.

Recently an issue was found in Minor Planets Expansion – remove the parallax folder until Exo fixes it.

Unfortunately that's pretty far outside the scope of this mod. However there are a couple asteroids nearby provided by InnerWorlds, so there's that?

This is such an interesting mod, but the sheer amount of moons is overwhelming to me. It's still a great mod for the micro-moon enjoyers and asteroid enjoyers!

Sounds cool (already installed it) but why do Tylo, Laythe, and Vall need shrinking? Could Jool have its mass increased instead?

And also the title screen replaced Kerbin with Sarnus for some reason, but Sarnus is my favorite planet (and likely most visited) in KSP. Is it intentional?

Is there also an option to revert the textures back to the default?

1. Laythe, Vall and Tylo were rescaled to better match Io, Europa and Ganymede.

2. IDK, might have to consult Minmus about that.

Here's the thing. You can have *any* planet as a moon for Kerbin, you can even have Kerbin as a moon of something else too, though that 'used' to cause a few issues. For example there's a cool little planet called 'Frigus' which could be assigned to Kerbin as a moon.

@The Minmus Derp is OPX-SSM and OPX-IW meant to have CKAN support? I tried following the thread; it looks like at some point they were not publicly released, but the way I read the first post now is that they are public/released. The reason I ask, is that the rest of OPX appears to have CKAN support.

For those of you who say the stock system is devoid of stuff, I think the OPM expansion adds too many planets, asteroids, moons, and dwarf planets.

Also, there is an error with the replacement Jool upon loading the entire thing.

That's the entire point. Jool's system, the gas giant systems added by OPM and the Asteroid/Kuiper Belts are a bit empty - they have too little moons and dwarf planets to be realistic.

Besides, some of the bodies added are Pseudobodies that can be toggled on/off, as they're mostly set dressing.

Hey, all. I've spent the last few weeks troubleshooting a problem I've been having, and I think I might have found a pretty major oversight in the configs, so I'm wondering what y'all think.

In a pack I'm using, I have JoolPlus installed, but none of the other OPX components. Whenever I tried to boot the game in this configuration, it would crash and never load, despite the fact that as the documentation is set up right now, I can't seem to find anything that says it shouldn't work.

I decided to go through the configs, and I noticed that a few of the moons refer to a file directory in UrlumPlus. It's some kind of texture; maybe for an orbit icon? I'm not sure. Whatever it is, I removed the reference to that in those configs, and the game booted without incident. I haven't yet found any major bugs in the game with that line of code removed, but then again, I'm not even sure what it was for or how to check.

Whether that line is important to the function of the mod or not, that still means that JoolPlus is dependent on UrlumPlus to function in its current configuration. It looks like this is true in both CKAN and SpaceDock, and I can't seem to find any mention of that dependency anywhere. Is this intentional? Am I having some kind of installation error?
