KSP simple mod list request

Hi

As always, I hope this is the right place to ask.  I did try to find an answer myself and if I missed it and one does exist, please point the way accept my apologies for not seeing it.  With that said....

KSP2 is dead, however, I played it enough to remind me of how much I love KSP (which I have not played for some years).  Since my interests were rekindled with KSP2 and that option is now unavailable I find myself turning again to KSP to get my space fix.  I am way out of touch with current mods and what's available...  and so my question/request:

What mods would one add to KSP today (July of 2024) that would make KSP better looking, apply some nice QoL enhancements, and give me a few more parts to play with?  Mostly I play in "Science" mode.

Again, sorry if this has been beaten to death.

Thanks in advance!

AngleCan Progression for science mode but with flair.

ReStock and ReStockPlus

SSPX for station parts

Also, these have been around for AGES, but are still excellent for additional parts

Nertea's Near Future mods,

Scatterer and EVE (Environmental Visual Enhancements) to improve graphics . Those 2 mods work together to add clouds, atmospheric haze, better water, etc. They are separate mods but most people use them together.

TUFX adds customizable graphics profiles. This let you adjust brightness, saturation, contrast, etc. to your liking or pick one of the many good profiles already created by others.

There are too many good parts mods to list them all. The best choice depends on which rockets you want to build. If you want to recreate actual historic rockets consider Bluedog Design Bureau for USA, Tantares for USSR, Knes for Europe. The Near Future mod collection is more interchangeable lego-like to create your own designs. Other mods allow present-day rockets and futuristic spaceplanes.

Perhaps give my ocean experiments mod a try. It requires Wild Blue Tools and has some complication to how things work but it's of the sort "Science isn't one click and done like stock. It has more depth and requires time, resources and other parts."

Nertea's Near Future mods,

I went to the AngleCan page from CKAN and read a bit about it.  What is it about this mod that you like?

I like the idea of starting the game with probes and thought there was a progression mod that did this, do you know of it?

I just started a new career using Unkerballed Start. It's working ok with a mix of parts mods.

It is a career playghrough which means that you start with limited VAB, luanchpad etc. Parts and fuel cost nothing, like science mode.  No contracts except World Firsts to give you funds to upgrade the KSC and hire kerbals.

I like it cause i wrote it :)

I would recommend Chatterer and extended. It adds a lot IMHO.

Here is a post on beauty mods which is food for thought.

Simply add Spectra with CKAN and it will add dependents like EVE.

Also Planetshine, KSPRC City Lights look nice. Firespitter has some fun plane parts including a biplane kit which works if you can get the landing gear in the right place.
