So the problem with the mercury engine is the little fins on the side. The are lower than the engine and when all that weight gets pressed onto them it causes them to clip into the ground. Thin collision in Unity does not work well.

If your doing career mod you going to have to put a decoupler under it with some trusses out to the side for a make shift launch platform. Not ideal but still very kerbal.

Also I put in a work around for the exploding VAB icons. I added a 0 thrust RCS module to the CFG and it seamed to fix it with out ill effect.

ATV

Still in progress...

So parts of the Agena from right to left its Docking, Probe Core, Fuel Tank, Flight Pack, and Engine. Also an antenna.

My plan is that the flight pack with its secondary engines and RCS thrusters, will also house some mono, and liquid fuel as well. It should make a fun part for using it on probe landers and general orbital maneuvers as well as Agena. Probe Core will also house RCS thrusters to balance out the ones in the Flight Pack.

All parts will fit standard sizes, except the docking cone. Its only going to work with the Gemini nosecone because of the collision and the indexing bar I'm adding to the Gemini nosecone, but if you want to use it for other stuff just put a regular docking port in its place.

What will the part diameters be? It should also function as an upper stage for Atlas and Titan II. Ideally, it'd accept 1.25m fairings and mount onto 1.25m tanks.

Look closer, the cutout is there, allright. :) I'm really looking forward to the Agena. It was the first "major" Titan and Atlas upper stage, pre-dating both Transtage and Centaur.

Still need to do some texture work but I got everything working.

The indexing bar works really well for docking, but only useful with the Agena docking part. Antenna is fully functional.

The flight pack is loads of fun on other probes and landers. I made it use mono for its secondary engines. It used something similar for the real thing but I didn't want to add some weird one off fuel resource.

Got the docking port to work on the first try, which is a first.

All hooked up into science as well, I put everything in tier 6. It's the one after you unlock all the Gemini Stuff.

Still planning to release sometime tomorrow , after some more art tweaks....

40 years ago, Agena was 1965? Its almost 2014,Its been closer to 50!!!

3.34 - Added MOL Science, and Equipment module,

Added 7 segment SRB,

Added Agena Target Vehicle (Antenna, Docking, Probe, LFT, Flight Pack, Engine),

Added Indexer to nose cone of Gemini, Added Gemini nosecone cap

Adjusted mercury engine collision, Use a decoupler on the bottom as a launch clamp.

Fixed Pod landing gear- Thank you Spann3

Added 0 thrust RCS module to fix the exploding VAB icons,

Added new tweakables to parts that use them,

Removed 0 electricity from parts.

Increased gimble on some engines

Tweaked textures to lower moire pattern on high detail textures. Some are now .tga for better mip mapping.

Decreased the crash tolerance on all the pods and other parts that were unrealistically high. Be careful now!

Uploading to spaceport now, will be about 30 min before its done.

First images one day, a release the next day. You're one of a kind frizzank.

The MOL has a spelling error in the description. Instillation instead of installation. Also, if you need inspiration for future stuff:

The ATDA was a version of the Agena Target Vehicle, just without the Agena stage. The only part needed to make it work is a modified version of the Gemini RCS Thruster Pack.

The Mercury Space Station would need only a shortened Agena fuel tank and a 1.25m lab module

That same lab module can also be used to make this, a mini-space station for extended Gemini missions.

I am having way too much fun...

078DFMS.jpg

(I made a custom rescaled SAS/RCS and FuelEngine setup for the BigG to assemble The Rescue Ship. RCS strength needs some work as translation is a bit wobbly.)

K85YJI0.jpg

I docked the KAS connection and proceeded to lose control of both ships. That was interesting. I need to learn the right way to use KAS.

Unfortunately it seems I've found a bug :( I've been playing around with the new Agena, its a very good little system; and in its desired configuration, there's not a hitch. However the problem I'm getting, although rather small and seemingly simple; it's causing me quite a bit of frustration. I'm using the flight pack, like you mentioned, as a cool little lander using a stock inline probe body, batts, panels etc and with the all-in-one fuel and lander (minus fuel, ty tweakables) from the one man Gemini lander and for some reason, its causing the rcs system from the flight pack to become inverted left = right etc and the sas keeps pushing on it to right its way up, yet ends up spinning out of control and crashing :( - sorry for the long reply, wanted to give my excellent feedback as well as this bug report

OK, I've checked out the Agena. :) Great job. I've got a few small suggestions, for other parts though:

1. Could you make a big solar panel for MOL? Either with a slim, aerodynamic housing or narrow enough to fit into the service compartment.

2. Would that be possible to enable tweakables on MOL equipment module? It's annoying to have to close it on the launchpad when everything else can be toggled in VAB.

3. Perhaps instead of the big plume, the Gemini could have a smaller exhaust on each engine nozzle. With such a big plume, it looks a bit odd, now that I think of it.

4. Mercury had small, orange separation motors on it's retropack. Could you model them as radially-attachable parts? Just a small touch, and would help separation from the Atlas.

5. Could you add a 1.25m half-nosecone? That'd work great for Agena fairing.

There new update looks so great! But, I must ask, which titan rocket uses the 7 segment srb? I have only seen pictures of them with 5, 6, and 9 segments. Am I missing something?
