Jon Tash
My lander which was on Gilly got back to its mothership KRSS - Explorer I orbiting Eve. There I decided that my next destination would be Jool (there is only 8 K-days between the departure time of Jool and Eeloo from Eve).Strange thing today though (and from the start of this mission), I had totally forgot that Duna(and Ike) is also on my destination targets did not calculate the departure times. Looking back at my mission record, I guess I could have been to Duna and Ike before going to Dres and Eve. I will probably go to Duna after my tour of the Jool system if the departure times are good enough.
Red Iron Crown
Jon Tash, you are getting tremendous mileage out of that lander design. Well done!
Jon Tash
Yeah, it's my longest time using the same ship in the game. I never did a complete tour of all the planets and moons with the same ship and crew. I still got a lot of places to go.What I have done with this ship from the start of the mission till today is planted a flag on the Mun, Minmus, Moho, Dres and Gilly. I hope I can finish and plant flags on every body possible (no Kerbin) before the 0.25 update comes out. archont
I launched a 200-ton skycrane/workshop into Minmus orbit. It's the working end of a space station that'll be used to build my joolian mothership. Here it is, connected to a research module and the tug that brought it hereIt's 707 tons. I still have two modules to go, I think I can manufacture them in-orbit, though it'll require ferrying in MKS supplies. After that, it's onto the mothership. Launching payloads over 1kt from Kerbin is rather difficult.
Kowgan
@Jon Tash & @archont: Motherships FTW! Great job there.Today I ran various tests, trying to find the best use of the Protractor mod, fitting my gameplay style. It was successful; today was a good day.Nothing much to show, though. So, here's a picture of a few asteroids pointing me the right (left*) direction:
BDelacroix
Inspired by Capi3101's station segments, I built, tested, launched and deployed this thing to Mun. The first time I did an extrakerbin base that I liked and wasn't just a fancy hermit cave for a poor single kerbal. This one holds many more. I stuffed everyone I had hired into it. I landed it a bit of a ways from my first Mun base which has a poor fella in it. It (the old base) had no power generators and so ran out of electricity. I had intended to ship up base parts in segments but never got a reliable system together. This ring thing, however, has it all already. It may need a few more lights, it gets dark at night. I'll have to come up with a name of it. Maybe Elpis. This was mounted onto a booster, launched and landed with a single unit. Several stages, but the point is, no assembly required outside of the assembly building. I had a bit more fuel in the final stages than I needed, too. Unfortunately that means I wasted quite a bit, but I didn't want to revert and fiddle with the gas.I have an atmo version, too. I may try to send one to Duna. OrbitusII
Developed a new bomber today:It's technically the next aircraft in the Thunderstorm bomber series, and it looks a lot nicer than its older sibling:The Thunderstorm 3 doesn't carry 15 tons of bombs like the Thunderstorm 2 does, instead it carries 4 kineto-nuclear warheads (kinetic weapon with nuclear explosives that detonate after the initial impact) that do a lot more damage. NecroBones
I've been making a set of inline fairings, in all sorts of sizes. Incidentally, it looks like FAR is happy with them so far.Examples: Edited September 20, 2014 by NecroBones

JebNeedsHelp
After several failures along the way, I finally succeeded in landing a pair of Kerbals on Duna and safely returned them to Kerbin. Fuel looked a bit iffy right there near the end, back in Kerbin's SoI, but the guys made it back just fine. It's my first ever manned 'there and back' mission, so I'm proud I got it done, even if it did take two F9s along the way.

sndrtj
Some fledgling attempts at constructing a workable infiniglider were performed. Project Echinoidea was apparently not the best approach ever. It still needed a rocket to get off the ground and basically was uncontrollable apart from hovering over KSC (it did nearly continuously have G ratings of 10+. How does that function?) Landing the spiky machine turned out to be fatal for Ludly Kerman, as one of the control surfaces hit the ground before the wheels did and flung his command pod into the ground. RIP LudlyLudly was, however, resurrected by Project Lepidoptera, which turned out to be far more adept at flying, needing only a slight push from a sepatron to get going. Its flight ceiling is apparently roughly 4.5 kilometers. Still nothing compared to other infinigliders, but it's a start. mangekyou-sama
Tested my SuperWing 5E Plane by flying to the old airstrip. It's powered by 5 engines. 3 jets and 2 turbojets which together produce a massive amount of thrust. So far it has no capabilities to get to space... Green Baron
Equipped my base on the mun wih two tankers for orbital refuelling, a second karbonite converter and a small monoprop distiller. Jeb was very busy. Last part was the ore miner/smelter combination which was easier to land than i expected.Javascript is disabled. Vahal
I finally played! I played on this game more than 600 hours and know it pretty well, but ear the music, building a new rocket, see this brave little Jeb smiling while his rocket is making some unexpected loopings (I tested NEAR and "strangely" my good ol' design are not that aerodynamic friendly ). Damn I missed this game!I started over a new Science game and atm I'm about to launch my first long endurance mission in orbit around Minmus. My Orion Capital Ship will stay in polar orbit while the Mennippe lander will... well, land on several biomes going to the Orion to refuel and reprocess her science instruments. Metioche transfer ship will allow some crew rotation and will provide some supply/fuel furniture.
Jon Tash
The KRSS - Explorer I reached Jool today without a hitch. Good thing I had an Orbital Factory around the planet because I was almost out of fuel and mono propellant. This orbital factory can produce almost everything if it had a supply of Karbonite. It just can't produce Uranium for the Fission reactors but I guess I won't be needing it. I have enough to last 26 years (I leave the Fission Reactor at only 20% capacity). Now that the ship is refueled, I can continue the main mission. Tomorrow will be a long day for the trio Kerbals. Land and plant flag on all the moons of Jool.

Land and plant flag on all the moons of Jool.Cool! What are those wire loops on the back of the ship? Some kind of engine? So today I made this cool hypersonic Valkyrie-inspired plane with B9, SP+, Procedural Wings, and FAR. After a few hilarious aerodynamic failures shortly after takeoff, I managed to get it up to a nice speed at a somewhat high altitude. It has some RasterPropMonitor cameras on the bottom too for recon missions. Nice views of the ocean below...The one on the far right is actually located on the underside of the plane at an angle of about 45 degrees below forward, but it still shows the horizon because I'm at such a high angle of attack at this altitude. The aft camera, in the small window to the left of the other two, is at a similar angle relative to the aircraft but shows only sea.Unfortunately, all three cameras exploded due to Deadly Reentry's aerodynamic heating as my speed climbed. Wish there was some kind of shielded sensor window I could put them in to prevent that from happening.I then decided to fire off the BD Armory Hellfire missiles attached to the plane's underside (because why not). They made nice little fire arrows at first, but the fifth one I launched collided with something on the way out and blew up the plane. A constructive test flight, I suppose!
Jon Tash
Cool! What are those wire loops on the back of the ship? Some kind of engine?Yes, they are Leucome Pinch Fusion Rocket Engines. Those are the original ones which are pretty old (version 0.19 ?) and can not be found anymore (the author, Leucome, looks to be MIA from the forums) I modified to be able to play in 0.24.2 because I like them. They look pretty unique. I know that there is another version that someone else made (the yellow bits are blue), I think it can still be found in the forum somewhere. xub313
I arrived at Duna! The lander is orbiting Ike right now, as landing on it will be this missions main objective. I'll land on Duna if I have enough fuel.
Liowen
I took up another crew member to my space station to do more strutting, although I left 2 in the trunk and didn't notice until after I came back to Kerbin. The approach:Second a look from an Evaing Kerbal....
