your current projects?

I'd like to know what you guys are working on now that we've got several new parts.

Have you changed things up or are you continuing previous projects?

Trying out interesting ship design perhaps?

I scrubbed my old save and started fresh and am currently working on two seperate missions.

1) New Alpha Station in LKO. : at the moment I've only lifted the personnel pods. 5 Panopticon modules connected via a structural cube and the funnel shaped Mk1-Mk2 adapters. Screens to follow once the station is complete.

2) A TIE fighter style VTOLSSTO, using the Panopticon module and the new skipper engine as its rocket phase.

The SSTO I'm particularly exited by. Preliminary tests are going smoothly and I hope to show you soon once it's design is perfected.

I'm still continuing my project from 0.18 which is to create a self sustained fuel mining network on Mün and Ike that provides fuel for supply operations between Kerbin and Duna.

So far I have almost all of the infrastructure in place: fuel buggies built from 0.19 rover parts bring fuel from the (currently non-existent) mobile mining platforms to my just recently constructed SuTO (Surface To Orbit) fuel tankers, which round trip the fuel to Kerbin/Duna and back.

Delivering fuel to Kerbin is expensive by the way. The SuTO tanker burns about 43% of the fuel it carries, replacing it with another 43% for the return, meaning a successful operation yields about 14% of the fuel that is mined. Not great, but I am constantly improving my designs.

Obviously this depends on resource mining. Currently I am using HyperEdit to simulate the resource mining by replenishing the resources in my mining units. That's how I come up with my numbers. I hope the Mün has oxidizer!

Currently I am just building stuff until The mods I used for my interplanetary Transfership are updated. Then I am going to establish a researchbase aswell as a miningfacility at laythe.

Nothing satisfying. I built a generation of rovers, tested them on Kerbin and its moons, then flew them to other planets, only to have them fail due to problems that were not revealed in testing. Now I have to build another generation, test them, and fly them to other planets, just to see if they'll work better than the last batch. :( Not incidentally, the interplanetary ship I used to fly them there also turned out not to be workable, so I'll have to build and test another one of those before I can test the rovers on those other planets. It's been about a month since I made any progress in this game. I still like it, though. :D

A fully functional base around the SSTV signal on Duna.

A second manned trip to Dres, but this time with more fuel to explore more of the magnificent landscape of Dres, and not just the giant tear.

A manned trip to Poll to examine the landscape there. And then try t get a Vall functioning rover there.

Totally new Space Program as well.

I would normally think about transferring individual crafts from my old save to the new,

but seems like I´ll better start everything anew.

One significant change I already made is, to add a small rover to my Mun-Lander Spacecraft.

Thnks to the single seat they can be made small enough to fit under the belly of the lander

Yep decided to start from scratch and build a space station using new parts and improve on old designs.

Placed a flag on the Mun in preparation for colonisation

Also built a plane to take Jeb around Kerbin to explore as I've never done that before.

Building a launch system for space station sections that can return to Kerbin and be "re-used".

I also love how you can now "sink" the lights into the structures.

Here are some pictures so far...

He looks so happy up there..

Just completed another challenge never done before, docking collar underneath the ship. Shame the magnets re-aligned my ship as it was perfectly straight on, oh well, lesson learnt there.

Well, I've decided to try to relearn rocket building from scratch- I noticed that my spacecraft were massively overengineered and far larger than they needed to be, I'm going to start small again and try to maintain a decent standard of efficiency.

The more exciting thing, though, is my moon cafe (probably named Starbuck's Starbucks. If you get the reference, props.) I'm going to modify this basic design and try to get a few of them set up as a small moon base, maybe with a bar, and a barbecue (upwards-facing ion drive. Or maybe just a buttload of fuel and a mainsail, that seems more Kerbal :P)

I'm seeing how many places I can visit with one re-usable ship. After each trip I plan to get back to Kerbin's orbit (no re-entry) for refueling and crew change, then on to the next mission.

Launched in two parts, so far it's done a massively overpowered trip to Mun and Minmus (with detachable lander landing at each) leaving a satellite in orbit before returning to Kerbin. Just refueled it, and now about to visit Duna and Ike (with surface landings and satellite deployment planned).

Eve and Gilly are next (no surface landing on Eve, but i'll drop a probe).

Not sure where it will go next, the Joolian planets probably, but this will might require docking a droptank to extend the range to make sure the guys get home.

No idea what the odometer will say after all the journeys combined.
