Hodo
it's all thanks to Procedural Wings and the tiny stockalike parts. the standard parts just made the rocket section too heavy and oversized. You can get away with the larger stock rocket parts, they still work and quite well. I have made a few SSTOs using stock parts.

I have made a few SSTOs using stock parts.oh, I've tried that too. this design just started off a a very light ordinary plane. then I had the idea to attach little rockets and make an SSTO out of it. I wanted to keep the weight down so I could get away with one turbojet. the stock 1.25 meter tanks don't mesh well with the rest of it anyways. ayana
maybe I should look into using the B9 parts again, now that I have a better clue what I'm doing. if only for the intakes and the landing gear, those make for some very nice design options. Mesklin
Here is simple and powerfull payload deliverer:1. Can deliver 44t to LKO (85 km) in standard configuration. With additional fuel tanks maximum payload weight - 51t. There is no any restriction for payload configuration.2. Very simple for control, flameout protection included3. Only 71 details, it is very good for use on regular base. 6 turbojets and 1 RAPIER with only 18 intakes, less then 3 per engine4. Can make precise landing, I landed it direct on launchpad after payload delivering mission (last picture)On launchpad with 44t payloadOn launchpad again after mission
Vanamonde
Was there a post I missed? Or is this about the problem child earlier? It's general advice for everyone on the forum, and it's no one else's business who the moderators do or do not consider "problem children." Just quit griping at each other and get on with the thread. That can be fixed pretty easily, the fix for it is in the B9 fix thread, or I can post it here when I get on my home computer.
Overfloater
Hey you guys, can I join the interplanetary freighter club now? http://youtu.be/d53jfIfRnQsDuring filming this ship had a major bug - All the fuel went from one side to the other, as if there was a yellow pipe between them. WHAT THE FLARP... but I'm gonna fix it by actually adding yellow fuel pipes. And when the ship is empty it's COM moves too far behind... or the gear is too far in front :-S gonna have to relocate it. KissSh0t
Spank you very much my good man x-]If you can... could you strip you're craft of all wing parts and take screenshots of the innards for us to see? I'm guessing there is a frame, so.. um.. Yeah.. I would really like to see that.
Guest Space Cowboy
I will upload this soon, I am almost done tweaking it. Mesklin
I like that, i think it would be interesting to create a Kerbonaut transporter with your Transporter as a basis. I already did it , here is Dune bus for 15 kerbonauts (4000 m/s dV, 61.5 t on launchpad and 154 parts with lifter), enough for some excursion to red planet and return. Can land autonomously on Kerbin after mission or can dock with lifter after return from Dune and land together (more complex and tricky, need very flat surface). KissSh0t
I know this is unrelated to the thread... but I just thought of it when seeing Mesklin's screenshots with the clouds.. Obviously that is a mod of some sort. But the thing I thought of was what if there were weather affects in the game, like storms, rain, lightning.. and maybe some other types of weather affects, and they would not only alter the look of the game, but things like visibility when landing aircraft... Turbulence / Wind Change... um.. Storms.. that could buffer the craft to make it a bit more challenging to land... even though it is quite challenging for some of us already.. hahaha..And maybe Weather Anomalies on other planets, so like.. things like Dust Devils on Duna "Dust Devils actually do happen on Mars". Google image search Dust Devils.. Basically it is spinning wind that picks up dust making a funnel of dust, and they could randomly appear and if a Kerbal gets caught by one it could fling the Kerbal away xDOr if it caught a ship, depending on the size of the craft it might get flung or pushed over or just nudged. With weather in the game you could take that into account as well when launching a rocket or aircraft instead of just time of day.I don't know how you would suggest ideas to SQUAD, but I would love to suggest this!! xDAND ALSO LONGER LANDING WHEELS. It is Texture Replacer mod, Now I can not see without tears vanilla game visualization, so ugly, so boring
