On the 0.21 Update News: Your most anticipated new feature, your disappointments...

I hope that the good ol' KSP will not be replaced to something new. It should always be the same feeling of gaming, even in future updates. I really was sad when they removed the ol' pod, it was much nicer than the black new one. Even if there would be one person like in the new. The grey fuel tanks dont look better than the old ones... thats a small point of disappointment for me, but it didnt change my addiction to KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM. It is great, anyway.

Well I'm pleased with the goals for this next update. Not too fussed about resources, not like I could launch any large scale mining bases anyway :P. Great to see some steps toward careers mode and hopefully some new parts too.

I can't wait to pick and choose kerbonauts! That is a feature that I want so bad!

Well I am not that hyped about that feature beacause you can already do it perfectly well with the Crew Manifest mod .. of course it will be implemented better by Squad no doubt, it would be good to see Kerbals having a few more stats introduced and being made customisable.

I see 0.21 as laying foundations much like 0.20 was, I just cant wait to see some of the strategy stuff starting to come in such as budget, funding missions, resources and the like but I guess we will have to be patient for those larger things that will take many months to sort out.

Lag issues can make MechJeb a necessity too. My framerate drops so badly near my space stations or bigger ships *kethane refineries* there is no way for me to dock manually.

Anyways: resources pushed back. Again. Awww, crud!

But: Kerbal resources management. Yaaaay! Finally. :D

I'm not surprised by the lack of mention of resources, since I've imagined that's going to take quite a bit of work to implement in the first place. Like rodion, though, I do wish they'd implement some kind of subassembly support for rocket construction (especially if they could do it in a manner that lets you use all the attachment nodes available).

That said, crew management is definitely something I'm looking forward to.

This is what i don't like that much. First they get rid of the Launch tower and the VAB and the SPH and not even the second KSC is there to remind us of the good old days :(
Wait when did they say that they were getting rid of VAB/SPH and where did you see KSP2 gone. It is still there but slightly covered. Only the tracking station is covered though.

They didn't said that they would get rid of them but completely redo them. About KSC 2 i have to take a look.

Wait.. what happened to resources or the planned flight model improvements? The latest couple of updates are nothing but disappointments. Seems like the Squad is now pushing for the 1.0 release so that they can start with DLC/Expansion content..

I'm sad, but not surprised, that the resource system got pushed back.

I'm definitely looking forward to crew management and the beginnings of career mode.

I'm actually looking forward to everything mentioned, even the stuff that doesn't look like it will immediately affect the players. If nothing else, it's small infrastructure steps on which better stuff will be built. Heck, even the thing about moving more of the parts over to the newer module system, as that means it will be easier for modders to combine functionality in parts, among other things.

Probably a place to auto refuel landed craft will be implemented while you cant end flight no more..... The destiny of your kerbals are in your hands.... Thankfully i have tons of fully balanced and tested crafts. Will be great to have a multiple missions craft and crew... And i think that s the SQUAD aim. Squad please change the iva of the cupola.... Wtf a huge visual bocked by instruments????..... And we still waiting the update iva s for the old cockpits. Thanks. Resources can wait

hey i had a question and wanted to know if you could answer it, im a newbie and i wanted to know if kerbal updates itself?

If you have steam yes it will. If you got it through the ksp store you have to go to your account and get to the download page and download the new version. Btw when it updates your old saves will be gone

Every update is a good thing. Every new feature is a good feature in my opinion.

It's so sad to see comments with; "What about this?", "When comes this?", "Still no resources?"

The one thing I love about this update already is that we get to know this stuff so soon. I love the fact that they try to be as open as possible about the upcoming update. Give them some love for the things they DO come up with instead complaining about the things you want and or have to wait a little bit longer for. Because The Rolling Stones told us; You can't always get what you want..

I have to say, nothing announced really excites me and I am a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to resources and it got pushed back. And now again it's pushed back.

Now I'm not criticizing Squad - they're doing a great job - I'm just expressing how I feel.

I also worry a little what the changes to the end flight will do - I can see it potentially impacting people in ways that players don't fully appreciate yet.

Out of all the features announced, the most useful would be the crew management. I recently made a ship with 2 hitchhiker modules as a colony ship, and it was a pain to load all the crew aboard.

The Astronaut complex might be good, but there is not enough information to know anything for now.

With the addition of new parts I expect additional load times. I hope that in the background they continue working on optimizing some of this, although I am always happy to see new parts.

My only few disappointments were:

A: I thought we were getting the mining parts, but I guess I misinterpreted "will add" as "will add in .20.

B: No transparency support for flags

Aside from that this was a really nice update. I especially love the animation for placing a flag!

I look forward to see more updates on the overhaul, and... new parts are never looked down upon in my book.

I don't think anyone is complaining about Squad. They're simply expressing disappointment about features they were hoping for not being in the next update. Complaining about people doing this is in my opinion disrespectful - you are essentially saying that people are not entitled to have their own opinion.

I am disappointed with what is coming, but I understand why this is happening also. I don't hate Squad for not doing what I would like - I love them and their work, and I am sure the things they add in 0.21 will be great for what they are. They are just not features I was hoping for.
