Yes! First Docking

I just docked for the first time! With a space station, a tiny spacecraft, lots of patience, and a lot of rcs, I managed what I consider my most impressive feat. Sure, I've landed Kerbals on Minmus and the Mun and sent probes and rovers to Eve and Duna, but this is so much more interesting, and really demonstrates how far I've come since that first orbit. Now nothing is stopping me from going interplanetary for real, with landers and Kerbals and everything that makes this game awesome!

Congrats! For me, docking and rendezvousing for the first time gave me a better sense of accomplishment than landing on another body. Well done!

Great job! I practiced rendezvous and docking quite a bit before even trying to go to the Mun and Minmus. I play the game without any mods and I still have a sense of accomplishment and victory when I get a good docking. Nothing quite as fulfilling.

One of my favorite lines by Chris Kraft of NASA as quoted in From the Earth to the Moon

"Rendezvous: two spacecraft meeting up in orbit. Want to have fun? Come over to my house. You stand in the back yard, I'll stand in the front, you throw a tennis ball over my roof and I'll try to hit it with a rock as it comes sailing over. That's what we're going to have to do."

Congrats, getting that first rendezvous and dock under your belt is bigger than a Mun landing IMO.

You get better and better at it the more you do it, but it never gets any less stressful. That last few meters is always cause for the sweats.

nicely done. Still trying to get that working, after several weeks of persistently failing to get anywhere near a successful rendezvous (always end up either with far too high an overtake speed and overshoot, out of fuel, far too large a closest approach, or any combination of the above).

And indeed a nice core for a small station. Have 2 components for mine in orbit now, waiting for the time I can finally dare to attempt a docking of them.

Back to launching docking trainers and trying to match orbits...
