Once on launchpad, how to return to VAB?

Recommended Posts

I've tried searching for two days, but anytime I go to launch and realize I need to fix my spacecraft, I can't find any manner to return to the VAB or even to exit out of the game.

I've been stuck on this for two days. To accomplish this, I use ctrl-alt-delete.

Can't believe it has taken this long for someone to reply... You need to hit escape and select end flight, from there is an option to return to the VAB. Hope it works out for you.

If you want to keep the rocket on the launch pad you should be able to just ESC and select space center.

In one video I saw lately the player liked to drive his crewmen from the airfield to the pad in a rover and let them climb up to the command pod. :)

Ha ha I had the same problem early on and a few other palm to forehead moments. The Wiki can be very helpfull. ;)

Like Trux said escape will give you various options on the pad and in flight. BE WARNED it can be very easy to unintentional end flights and loose missions you have put much time into. Ps f5 to quick save and hold f9 to load quicksave.

Escape doesn't work for me. Also when I hit f5 to save or f9, I receive an error message telling me that neither will work "in this scenario", whatever scenario I'm in.

There might be one conflict that is on my end, though. I've found with one game that Adobe Photoshop 5 hijacks the escape button if it's open at the same time as the other game. This could be the issue here, too.

Smarter to just create an simple rover in WAB, drive it off the launchpad, exit them without ending flight and start the next one.

Nice if you want to fill up ship with more crew or even if you want to evacuate an test or rescue ship before launching.
