[1.0.2] NovaPunch 2.09. - May 6th - 1.0 Compatibility Update

Tiberion

You may not have installed the Novapunch2 main folder in the correct spot, it must go directly in Gamedata.

Thus when you check the properties of the config files in the SAS folder, they show this path:

C:\Whatever\whatever\YourKSPFlder\GameData\NovaPunch2\Parts\SAS

If you install it incorrectly, any parts that load the model via a direct path (such as the SAS modules) will simply not load, while other parts in the pack will.

Okay, let's start looking for bugs.

First one:

d8koRlS.jpg

The Wobbly Rockets and Tiberdyne Aerospace has blanks instead of their agencies' logos. Interesting, but logos appear when you activate them. I bet it's something about logo PNGs.

Also, you should edit your struts to use new CompoundPart module.

Yeah looks like those 2 icons got saved without an alpha channel, which breaks them.

The Bearcat tri-nozzle engine has a broken texture too, I think its a .tga issue.

I'll convert the struts to be clones of the stock strut (again) then tune them up, should be an easy fix.

Anything else anyone has noticed? Hopefully will drop a new version with the tweaks late tonight/early tomorrow.

Never noticed any tga-related bug (I suppose that OpenGL takes care of that).

There might be some strange things related to new buildings upgrade system. Might. I didn't play career for long enough to see how NP is balanced against that (in fact, I didn't try 0.90 career yet at all)

I could see some issues, if the bigger parts make you pass the mass limit in the 1st tier, or the size limits. Though I tended to leave the longer, bigger pieces1 tier higher than the 1st parts of any size, so I may have accidentally made it work. If people can report playtesting results, that would be cool.

It seems that only that one engine has the TGA issue, and if you reload the database from alt+F12 it loads right. However even have saving the icons with an alpha channel they still dark, so I'll have to investigate further, no release tonight. Luckily, no major issues outstanding.

Okay I managed to get all of those little issues fixed, and NP 2.08 is available on kerbalstuff now. Uploading to the dropbox mirror, and when that is done I will update the 1st post.

Changelog for 2.08

------------------------

Fixed transparency on the agency logo files for Tiberdyne and Wobbly Rockets so they appear right in the Manufacturer tab in the parts selector.

Converted the texture for the Bearcat Trinozzle engine from TGA to PNG (You may safely remove the TGA files in that folder only, see installation notes)

Updated the config files for the Heavy and Heavier strut connectors to use the new Compound object method; also fixed slightly weird scaling for them.

Hi, Love the mod, im just having a drama with the IVA's.

Bootleg - Stock IVA

Freyja - No IVA or Kerbals showing when theres 6 inside

Odin OTV - Stock

Huginn - Stock

If it's an ongoing thing I'm sorry i didnt spot it, and cant really grumble, plenty to go at with NP

Hmm, I just loaded it up here and the Freyja IVA is working properly. It's the only one with a custom IVA for now. Make sure you have it installed properly in GameData/Novapunch2/Spaces/FreyjaInternals

I also noticed a small issue with the pre-made craft - they need to be loaded into the VAB before being sent to the launchpad, because their save format doesn't have the new "size" data that determines if the pad is big enough to launch it (in career mode) - but the check is being made for the data even in Sandbox mode where the size is unlimited. I'll have to resave them for next time, but you can do that too for any ships you made, then you'll be able to launch them directly from the pad without going through the VAB.

The Radial Liquid Booster has no fuel. Is this working as designed, or a bug? Generally you don’t call it a booster when it has an engine but no internal fuel… right?

You mean the one in Control tab? Yes, it's working as designed. Basically this is just a radial engine like Mark 55.

They're very good for mounting on conical adapter tanks - creating a service module with, say, a docking port on its butt. You also may use them as vernier engines, Atlas-style.
