NathanKell
Harvoification, sidfu, nope that's because texture compressor takes a while to compress that texture (it's huge). Only occurs on first time loading ksp, normal after that. Just wait it out. Someone asks every page or so...

Westi29
It would be cool if the clouds created storms or hurricanes or didn't exist over deserts and constantly appeared over one side of mountains. I guess any randomness would be cool. Could you have meshes that tracked celestial bodies and moved around according to their body's relative position to Kerbin? Basically like the tracking center radio telescopes that track celestial bodies and objects. Could create repeatable weather patterns!

Hammer Tech
The volumetric clouds look absolutely awesome! Question: is it feasible to have tendrils of cloud follow your craft as you leave the cloudbanks? I'm not sure if that's a real thing but in my head I always imagine it to be that way; kind of like the bubble trails penguins leave when they enter the sea... jsimmons
I have to ask. Is their a way to map the clouds? It would be awesome to send up weather satellites that would generate weather maps.

jerjozwik
Hi everyone, im very new to installing mods to KSP. please excuse if this is a dumb question. But every time i drag the visual enhancements folder into game data, and launch the game my KSP crashes.I am running either .021 or .023, whatever is on steam currently. anyhow... if anyone can help me get this running in a stable way that would be great.I want some pretty clouds too! Camacha
Question: is it feasible to have tendrils of cloud follow your craft as you leave the cloudbanks? In my close up experience with clouds it is very much like entering a fog bank. The edges are not clearly defined, stuff just gets cloudier up to the point everything blanks out. I am not terribly sure what an aircraft does to the cloud/fog though, as the craft I flew did not allow looking behind - and it would be foggy of course. Do you run with other mods? If so, try out my other mod (in my signature) to reduce your memory footprint and improve performance.
Camacha
This would be VERY difficult to achieve. I don't think it is terribly feasible to make it look nice.Well, I think if the issues with the volumetric clouds clipping through the camera are solved - probably meaning they grow transparent close to it - it will go a long way. Full on replication would be hard, but remember that cloud banks also mean that stuff close up is easier to see. Unless the fog is really dense, there always seems to be this clearer circle around you.I am mostly just trying to present some insight into the nature and behaviour of clouds I remember being somewhat surprised by it, even though it is quite logical, so I might as well convey it. I Thought quotes would stack That is, the tendrils would be hard to emulate. Yeah, I have a bit of work to do with the shader, but it is getting there. yamato2199
Hey can anyone make me a texture for this that replaces the city with big burning orange spots? Id prefer the clouds to be from the astronomer pack. Heres an example of what I mean.. {cut due to encoding issues} Edited February 23, 2014 by sjwt
drtedastro
Is there anyway to be able to put the 'cities' in specific places? To be able to specify via Lat, Lon for example....many thanks for GREAT mod...

To be able to specify via Lat, Lon for example....many thanks for GREAT mod...no specfic cities. and the new volume test is awsome clouds not to bright now and are good color. withthem like that all u need to do now is take and figure a way to make them more like a clouds instead of a million small clumps of cloud. when inside they fine but still below and above looks like a million of same cloud puff but its getting there.
