Pink Light - Hope this is not a dup thread.

1 Request: Could the dev's, at some point, create a mouse-over hint when the Stage Light turns Pink.

2 Reason: I have a build, previously flown, now showing a Pink Light while on the launch pad and I cannot launch.

3 Effect: If the mouse-over hint on the Pink LIght were available, I might be able to correct the issue and not have to rebuild again.

TL;DR Requesting a 'Hint' to be shown on mouse-over 'Pink Light' on Stage indicator.

I don't understand. What pink light? What stage light at all for that matter, and how does it affect your rockets?

That is stage lock I believe. You have your Caps Lock key on. You are locked at the stage you are on so that is why you cannot launch. Turn off Caps Lock.

Could you post screenshots of your vessel when this is happening? I'm not certain what pink light you refer to.

OdinYggd, to duplicate it launch a ship and press alt-L and press space.

Basically it sounds like you have stage lock enabled which prevents accidental staging. Now there is a bug where when you enable stage lock on one flight and you go launch a vehicle stage lock is still enabled preventing you from launching your rocket until you disable stage lock by pressing alt-L. On that same note, if you disable stage lock on one flight it will disable it for all flights, resulting in embarrassment if you accidentally hit spacebar on say your space station's escape pod deck. In all though it's quite the useful feature that has prevented accidental oops like dumping the return stage while still on the mun or firing off all the escape pods on my station, it just needs a bit more development like remembering whether or not it was enabled for which flights much like landing gear status does.

Alt-L (windows machine) fixes it. Many thanks. The pink light is located bottom left of your screen ( think its the same for our antipodean cousins too). Under the word 'Stage'. the light is normally green, or blinking green and the number on the odometer style indicator, refers to the next stage to be acrivated.

The post you replied to is from late 2013; the game has been through many versions since then so it's not surprising that it didn't work. It's possible that stage locking doesn't exist in KSP any more, or that it doesn't have a default key bind and you need to set one up in the main menu settings.

Alt+L works for me when I tested it just now. That's a feature of the game which hasn't changed for a very long time. Do you have any mods installed? What platform are you playing on?

'insert' fixed it for me when it got stuck, after that 'alt L' worked as expected, ie toggled the stage lock.

Running KSP 1.12.3 in Linux, nothing listed above would work. I just started randomly trying keys. Cycling m for map mode gave me flashing green :-)
