Probably very easy, but it's my first riddle, so be gentle :blush:

Ok, here goes:

As the supreme authority of this dimension,

I am the first and the last one of the lot

When the mood is solitary,

My sword acompanies both of my selves.

My exact guise might vary,

But my goals and my actions do not.

And even though my most important organ lies

Quartered outside of my bodies, the others will stand united by it

Through victory and defeat.

Card images are (for all intents and purposes) 2D, and he is the king - a supreme ruler

I am the first and the last one of the lot

When the mood is solitary,

A rather bad play on the word "Solitaire", usually a single player card game, where the king has to be the first card laid on the table by the player and the last card to close up a successfuly completed pack

My sword acompanies both of my selves.

The king is usually pictured with a sword in one hand. Most cards are also drawn symmetrically so the card can be held upside down and still be readable - this gives the king two mirrored bodies

My exact guise might vary,

But my goals and my actions do not.

Every deck might have different illustrations, but the rules of the game itself (and therefore the king's actions) don't change during the game.

And even though my most important organ lies

Quartered outside of my bodies,

"Heart" is the only card suit that is also an organ, and it is usually displayed two times next to each king, giving a total count of 4 (it should be "Split in twain" instead of "Quartered", but I realised that way too late - sorry)

the others will stand united by it

There are, of course, other cards that follow the king's suit

Through victory and defeat.

The cards will still stay the same regardless of the player winning or losing the game

My first riddle as well.

The final terminal for distant travelers,

they bring joy to those who greet them.

Probably too short/simple, but the only thing I could think up right now.

The Kerbal rendition of the Alcubbierre drive? I think this suffers from a mild case of "everything fits" syndrome.

It might, I only realized a little while after posting how many interpretations it could have.
