Working on my first large-scale replica for 1.0.5, the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon.

It handles quite well, save for the fact that once the airspeed drops below 80-100 m/s it starts refusing to pull up/flare, so landings have not occurred thus far.
Your lack of pitch authority comes from the choice of elevators - these have a ridiculously low deflection area. You will be much better off using the Tailfin or something similar (also, the real F-16 has that kind of fully pivotable elevator as well if I recall correctly).

Made an RMS Titanic-esque steamship, which is quite large -- 6 meters as width.

It has a maximum speed of... 18 m/s.

And then an F-16 replica:

And a Lockheed C-130 replica, which I still have to fix up a bit. (Because that Mk3 ramp seemed to be destined for one)
You know, I'd love to see some of your designs, my torps go a quite faster at 30 meters a second, and have a 80 km range, but nothing much in damage too.
One small fuel tank with a guidance system, three clipped engines, and two clipped intakes
It goss 75 m/s for 34 km

Hydrofoils are fun! Gets up on the step around 30m/s, tops out around 72m/s "dry". Reheat takes it up to around 102m/s. Doesn't need any input or cajooling, she just gets up and runs. Rolls quite easily, but not really a surprise given the shape.

Oh man that's awesome! I'm so happy we can do things like this.

Trouble is it gave me many ideas for a complete redesign, I hope he doesn't mind how much I changed.

Bigger is always better right?

Originally only had three engines, but she couldn't break 30m/s. So wouldn't get up in the step.. So with a bit of Goliath overkill it now does 152... And doesn't roll. Although turning at those speeds may tear off control surfaces... Time to build a Mach 1 hydrofoil!

I don't think I'm ever going to space again a this rate...

FlipNascar, so hydrofoils work now? That's cool! I've done some in 0.20, but theywere really slow (<45 m/s)

Awesome! The cool thing is that it actually works! Now I wanna make some other soviet designs...

Yes they work properly. On the two I've built so far, they both get up onto the step around 30m/s and do it without any control inputs. Then just add more engines until it goes faster. I'm sure if I start playing with plane angles that it could be tweaked further. Maybe at the weekend I'll play around with that and see what can be found.

Holler if you want the craft file for the fatty...

This might get a couple more flights to verify the 45mT payload, but yeah, the next Longsword is almost ready, and better than before in pretty much every way:
WIP Torpedo for a larger project...
http://i.imgur.com/HbzkjFW.png
Works well, except that it didn't damage its target, and since there are only two elevators (to avoid Z-fighting) it doesn't have any roll authority. It can go underwater if needed, or cruise on the surface, and can do at least 16 m/s in the water. I would like it to go faster so maybe it can actually hurt ships, but I would either need more intakes or a bigger engine for that.
Torpedos will probably require some major kracken discovery to move fast underwater...
Wait... Rune how well does that reenter? My old shuttle design has a nose almost identical to that but it's incapable of reentering in 1.0.5 so far from my tests.
It can do a 90º AoA reentry, meaning I hit 20 kms going slower than I did on the way up, and usually prograde to avoid stalling. Use your wing as the giant airbrake it can be! Still, that nosecone has the highest temp rating of any part in the game, 2400º... I rarely see temp gauges on it. I think I have a pic somewhere... the critical angle to turn lift into drag is around 45º over your prograde, BTW:

I brake like this:

Then pull up by going down, like this:

Rune. All it takes is "a bit" of balancing. ;) Edited by Rune

Odd.. I have been testing my WIP shuttle replica and I find Kerbin to be very forgiving. I have noticed gaining altitude during reentry though. Due to the denser air at speed now.

Reentry heating is never an issue though, at any entry angle.

Gah, I can't seem to stay focused on one project!

Long Range Minisub

Originally envisioned as a high speed, long range submarine for possibly circumnavigating Kerbin. Even with two engines though, it only makes 7 m/s submerged and 16 on the surface. It's range it good, I sailed it all the way to the island with only a third of its fuel having been used, and it looks gorgeous, but the speed just isn't there. Maybe I'll release it, maybe not, but I won't be doing any circumnavigating in this snail of a boat.

Accidentally built a submarine. 'Nuff said, it don't work!

The F-16C's coming along nicely once I fixed the tail a bit...

I've also attempted to rework my older F-35A replica, but it's proving somewhat difficult to coax it to break Mach 1 on the non-afterburner mode of the jet engine.

Messing around with hydrofoil. It's able to reach speed up to 175-180 m/s, but then its wings crash
