SQUAD PLEASE clarify the EULA for mod makers.

Recommended Posts

2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS.

© Prohibition on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.

What is SOFTWARE PRODUCT?

I'd like to retexture some parts by adding a normal map to the models, but I would need to change the .mu files themselves, and redistribute them.

Can I or can I not do that?

Also please make it clear in the agreement.

Some clarification would be good. My understanding is that Squad are ok with people using stock parts (or retexturing them) in their mods, and I've certainly seen a few mods on spaceport that do just that, but an official word on what we can and can't do would be great.

So yeah, you can't decompile anything made by squad included in the stock installation as far as that statement goes.
