(waiting on Infernal Robotics to get fixed, than that's going in too)

and various cfgs to add MJ, KER and SCANsat to all command pods, shuffle some things around etc etc

As someone told me, "I'm afraid to say it, but I think you may be missing a mod in existence". Thing is, I like every bit of all of them. I wouldn't want to play without any of them.. Whenever I make a stock install, I think to myself "well, obviously, KER and MJ are going in... and KAC, for obvious reasons.. SelectRoot should be stock so it's going in.. Floor It is too useful to ignore, same with Fusebox, RCS Build Aid, TweakableEverything and KAS.. hmm, I'll need the Toolbar to handle all this... FAR should be stock as well so I'll need the fairings from KW.. and as stock career is too easy, Robau's going in.. Guh, stock probe parts are so poor, I better get RLA too..." and so on until I basically have a duplicate of this list. Every single aspect of every single mod I have installed, I love. I wouldn't install them otherwise.

Come 0.24, I know I'm going to install DRE and Remote Tech... Probably TAC LS as well. Oh, and Interstellar again, that was fun.

Thing is, this is on a laptop too. I dread to think what I'll be like when KSP gets 64bit support and I have a decent gaming rig.

Engineer Redux and Precise Node.

Candidates for the near-future:

MechJeb. My first use case for it being to reproducibly test launchers. My own ascents are good enough for flying around, I always build in a dV margin anyway, but not consistent enough for properly comparing designs.

An aircraft "set", with FAR (of course), Procedural Fairings or similar, and probably Firespitter.

Perhaps something with bigger tanks, KW or Novapunch I believe. I was building a Saturn V analogue earlier today and started wishing it was actually round.

How does your laptop keep up with that number of mods? I could barely put NovaPunch, Mechjeb, KJR, and KSPX on my old laptop.

Must be a very powerful laptop.

Sony Vaio SVE1513C5E with an Intel i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz, according to DxDiag. 8GB of RAM, too. Yeah, it's pretty good :)

Though to be fair, I think Aggressive ATM is doing it's fair share of the grunt work too. I don't think KSP runs above 2 gigs because of it.

I do enjoy many parts mods (AIES, NP, KW, KSO), but currently I'm running a mostly stock build with a variety of plugins.

Achievements

Ambient Light Adjustment

Chatterer

Crew Manifest

Enhanced Navball

Environmental Visual Enhancements (City Lights/Clouds)

FASA Launch Towers

Procedural Fairings

KSPX

NavyFish's Docking Alignment Indicator

Part Catalog

RCS Build Aid

Select Root

Surface Lights

Texture Replacer (Kerbals/Suits/Planets/Skybox)

TAC Fuel Balancer

TAC Part Lister

Vanguard EVA Chutes

So basically, I have very few non-stock parts, but the immersion and atmosphere is MASSIVELY improved, and my plugins don't play the game for me, but they help me to do so more effectively.

EDIT: Cursed be all mod creators who have long and informative mod thread titles. They make hyperlinking lots of threads at once a lot more tedious. I'm surprised I didn't make a single mistake in there.

My list is also on a latptop. It's a Chronos with an i7 processor, it works. The thing that keeps it from exploding is the Aggressive Active Texture Reduction.

I don't really use mod parts, just control/info mods for me. Would love some of the eye-candy mods but my computer's not up to it.

Toolbar

Editor Extensions

Kerbal Engineer Redux

HyperEdit

MechJeb

High Contrast Navball

Docking Alignment Indicator

TAC Fuel Balancer

Kerbal Alarm Clock

Tweakable Everything

I've been playing with Cpt. Kipard's universal docking ports on my tugs, too.

Stuff that just gives info and IMO should be in stock:

Kerbal Alarm Clock

Enhanced Navball

Kerbal Engineer Redux

Others:

MechJeb

Kethane

Kerbal Attachment System

I just recently started using the "others"--I'm very conservative with mods. Two things:

  1. Holy cow, KAS and Kethane were just made for one another, and the two together are ten times more fun than either one by itself!
  2. Whatever your opinion on MechJeb, I think we can all agree that it's a technical masterpiece. Huge, huge kudos to the MJ dev(s)!

To those of you that use any more obscure mods that not everyone has heard of, could you please also give links to them? It's kind of annoying to google each one and considering I put a link to every mod in my list (which is the longest mod list in this thread), you can trust me when I say it's not that hard. Thank you for your attention.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have over 25 mods on my main file. But I wanted a change so I made a new file and put toolbar, chatterer, custom biomes ,crew manifest, and distant object enhancement, soviet pack and kosmos pack. In the end though some mods stay, some go

In no particular order:

-Chatterer

-TAC Life Support + Self Destruct

-Somnambulic's excellent tanks for TAC LS supplies

-SCANSat

-Procedural Fairings (barely use it, but it's nice to have for aesthetics if nothing else)

-KER

-Deadly Reentry

-HullCam (deleted all but a couple of the small cameras)

-Distant Object

-Toolbar

-Infernal Robotics

-SelectRoot

-RLA Stockalike + Power Generation

-Kerbal Alarm Clock

-A very old version of BoulderCo's clouds. Even the low-res version of the newer ones turns my fps into fpm while looking at Kerbin

-VNG (only the ejection system for planes, as well as the personal parachutes found in that thread)

-ASET Inline Lighting, as well as someone's long lost small surface lights mod.

Used to also run Remotetech, loved it, had to ditch RT2 a while after I couldn't use the original any long. Just too buggy.

Porkworks crew compartments and Robodyne's cargo bays are both awesome as well, though I ditched them from a lack of personal use.

On a separate game install, I have mostly B9 and FAR with a handful of extras, which I use more like Kerbal Flight Sim than KSP.

I've been going around picking and choosing individual parts from different part packs. It keeps total part-load-count down and doesn't clutter up the part catalog:

B9

FASA Launch Clamps

SDHI Capsule System

Spaceplane Plus

Infernal Robotics

KAS

TarausHV 3.75m 7-man Cockpit

Firespitter

Procedural Fairings

Again, I'm not using EVERYTHING from EVERY mod, just stuff I pick and choose. I'm still looking to add a few things...

Here is my list, mostly pluggins. I like to keep stock style.

Kerbal Alarm Clock

Kerbal Engineer Redux

Blizzy's Toolbar

Kethane Pack

Kerbal Attachment System

Procedural Fairings

PartCatalog

KSP Alternate Resource Panel

RealChute Parachute Systems

Action Group Manager

Crew Manifest

Navball docking alignment indicator

Enhanced Navball

Kerbal Joint Reinforcement

Select Root

Porkjet's Habitat Pack

And two crappy and not properly textured (just gray-painted) parts I made long ago (for KSP 0.19). Legs and one adaptor to easily attach rover wheels to 2,5m tanks/parts (to drive them when landed horizontally). I never released them, they are ugly and unfinished. I don't use them myself since about 0.21, but they jump from one KSP install to another.
