Mod suggestions

I have recently modded KSP, but I'm still feeling like I'm missing something.

I currently have:

  • Alternis Kerbol
  • Better Than Starting Manned
  • Chatterer
  • Kerbaltek (aka HyperEdit)
  • Module Manager

Mods I won't get:

  • Treeloader/TreeEdit (became a mess last time I tried to install it)
  • NovaPunch, adds to many OP parts, and besides that, just way to many parts in general
  • Any planet mover mod (Will probably mess up Alternis)
  • Planet Factory (Makes the game go a lot slower)

Also, another mod I'd like if you know of one is a mod that works like Universe Replacer, but not outdated.

I prefer:

  • Texture Replacers/improvers
  • Space Station Parts
  • More science modules
  • I will accept other suggestions too, but these are the ones I like best.

NovaPunch is not overpowered?? When I drew the engines next to the stock ones, they were all following the same tendencies, except two, which were then corrected by Tiberion when I messaged him about them.

Anyway, check out Stock Rebalance Project and RealChute in my sig, you might like it, who knows.

Novapunch isn't super extremely ridiculously overpowered, but I don't really like the fact that there are engines that have a max thrust of 10000. And even besides that, Novapunch makes the game take forever to load, and makes the VAB more laggy.

I'll check out Stock Rebalance Project, but it might interfere with BTSM.

RealChute looks interesting. I'll try it out.

With KAC, you will never overshoot an encounter again... Engineer is good when building craft. Helps get the right amount of Dv for launch and all the other info you can get doesn't hurt. I can almost encounter and dock with engineer from the cockpit!

NovaPunch is not overpowered, it is balanced in line with stock parts.

The engine you are talking about is for 5 meter stages - where just ONE of the largest tanks holds 20,000 units of both fuels and weights 320 tons. Compare that to the orange Jumbo64 stock tank, which holds a measly 3000 each and weighs only 38 tons.

(Roughly) 7 times the fuel and 7 times the mainsail thrust. How about that?

I'm not going to try to persuade you to use the mod, you can use as little or as many of the parts as you like. But don't go around saying that randomly when you haven't done any math.

Really can't recommend any mods unless you tell us what you want to do with your space program. Space Station Parts? Airplanes? Inter-planetary ships? More science? Satellite programs/scanning programs/communications. Life Support mods? Realistic aircraft/atmospheric modeling?

How.... How is an engine with a thrust of 10000 overpowered? Thrust alone means nothing. It's all about TWR. The engine can only lift ~35 times it's own weight IIRC, while the 48-7S can lift 33 times it weight. Basically, If you had 333 48-7S, you would have a better engine than that one because the 48-7S has a vacuum ISP of 350, while that NP engine has a vacuum ISP of... 290? I think?Thrust means literally nothing, it's all about TWR and ISP, and also payload fraction if you're fancy. And I can tell you the NovaPunch engines are all very well balanced.

Also, that engine has five engines on it technically. So If engines with 2000 units of thrust are overpowered, we have problem. This is just a five-in-one. Saves part count.

Sure, NovaPunch apparently isn't overpowered.

Although it still adds so many parts the game isn't quite as fun since you have such a larger array of stuff. And also it makes the game take atleast 3x longer to load.

Thatr's why I delete the parts I don't use :P Also texture reduction and active memory management mods are your friend

I might try it again sometime then.

For now, do you know of a mod like Universe Replacer but not outdated? I heard someone talking about one, but I can't find anything anywhere.

Renaissance compilation is the way to go although it takes up a lot of space but you'll never go back (although for some reason all my male kerbals have female names and my female kerbals have male names now)

Kethane

Skillfull weapons mod

Mec jeb

Interstellar

KAS: Looks interesting, I may try it.

Kethane: I used to have this, but I never had a use for it so I deleted it.

Skillful Weapons Mod: Looks interesting, but doesn't really go with KSP in my opinion

Mech Jeb: Takes a LOT of the fun out when going to places, and asides that, it's basically cheating.

Interstellar: Doesn't work for me. (I have unsupported mods I don't wanna get rid of)

The KSO mod has nice space station parts, and a REALLY nice space station tug. I also like the orbiter part of it, but even if that's not your cup of tea, the station parts are highly recommended.

There's also a texture mod of the FusTek parts to match KSO aesthetics, if you want to mix the two.
