What do you think about the shaver "Gillette Fusion proglide Power" cost 64 zł (15.45 EUR or 21 USD) a little pricey but I decided to buy it, the most expensive regular (though not the ordinary runs on batteries) razor I ever bought. I also have two electric shavers Philips 6920 that I bought when I broke my leg and I had no problem with the use of the ordinary shaver and Braun Wet and Dry with i bought year ago, But I'm glad I bought it "Gillette Fusion proglide Power" in life is not shaved as well as this razor.

I noticed that the electric razor does not shave as well as their conventional counterparts. Even the cheapest disposable razor, shaved better than electric razors. I came to the conclusion that electric shavers are highly overrated.

And you what to think?

A wet shave is always going to give a closer shave than an electric shaver can. Of course not everyone wants the closest possible shave, some people prefer the stubble look.

I've not used the Fusion myself. I use a Mach 3, gives a good shave and the blades are a lot cheaper than the Fusion ones. I tried the "power" model that makes the razor vibrate, I found it gave a more comfortable shave but not a closer one, and haven't bothered replacing the handle since it stopped vibrating. I also had a supermarket own-brand razor once, that was nowhere near as good, I've stuck with the M3 since then.

I went through my entire 20's with a mach 3 I got when I registered for the draft. It served me well but got rather expensive on the cartridges.

I gave the Fusion a try recently. Walgreens had the handle and 1 (maybe 3 cartridges) pack on a huge sale.

It was ok.

But I've wound up going back in time to a safety razor with razor blades. The blades work out to about 5 cents each for me and I get the closest shave I've ever gotten. I spend much less on shaving now, despite buying more products.

The fusion-Proglide blades are great. Even when they get dull, they're still better than a new Fusion blade (god these were a torture xD).

fusion-proglide "power" blades have a fancy little comb on them, but it makes no difference. Only more expensive. The normal fusion-proglide is good enough! :D The shave is real good.

Am I the only one who was shocked that this isn't a spam post?

Anyway, I had the same razor (Mach 3 I think) since the 80s until just recently. I then bought a Gillette Fusion (I think the Proglide, didn't keep the box. Looks like the pictures in a Google search) and don't really notice a difference. I *think* it shaves better but I used to have to slide the razor over the same spot a couple times to get a decent shave and now I have to slide the razor over the same spot a couple times to get a decent shave.

This post made me think. I thought, "Wow, was it really 1979? I haven't shaved since 1979!"

35 years of neckbeard. My beard's old enough to run for US President. Am I geeky enough yet? :)

I switched from a Mach 3 to a comparatively inexpensive Balea Revolution 5.1 (a German drugstore chain's own brand).

Electric shaving irritates my skin (even more than a wet shave) and I am always dissatisfied with the results.

But equally important - from my experience - is the shaving cream.

I like to use gel instead of foam and always go for something with aloe vera, and I also like to shave before showering - at least it feels to me as if my skin is more forgiving this way.

I use the Gillette Mach 3, and I'm perfectly satisfied. I've tried electric shavers, but I don't like them cause some parts on the head and neck are pain to reach with those bulky machines.
