Favorite Joolian Moon?

  1. 1. Favorite Joolian Moon?

I was torn between pol and laythe.

I went for pol, because you can clearly see all the 3 major moons spinning around Jool, which itself is just close enough so you don't feel alone, but just far away enough to give you a great sense of perspective. The low gravity is fun, the rocks are fun, it's easier to get to then bop. It has 1337 tehRain and it just looks FUNKY (insert jazzy dubstep)

I think Bop because of the low gravity and the kraken. Laythe may be habitable inside a base and maybe for short periods of time, but you'd have to wear as suit as but temperature is below freezing.

It is 11c = 58f.

LAYTHE!

How does one actually correctly pronounce Laythe?

1. Lay-thu (lay as in laying down - Thu as in thumb)

2. Lie-thu (Lie as in lying/lies - Thu as in thumb)

3. Lay-Tee (lay as in laying down - Tee as T-Shirt)

4. Lie-Tee (I guess you get the point now)

5. Other - please elaborate

I guess I would say the second one, but yea, I might be wrong

I go with the first one, because when in doubt, sound it out. Phonetics.

Because I barely went to the Jool system, I don't have much of a say in this. But it would be a tie between Laythe(for the pretty sceneries) and Vall(for being a nice Kethane mining spot).

I pronounce it as 'Layth'.

Vall, looks nice and reminds me of a ball of paper, but blue :D

Laythe looks nice and all but nah, Tylo... Forget about tylo!, Bop is pretty much a darker gilly, pretty cool. Pol is a ball of pollen! Really reminds me of that.

About pronunciation, i sometimes pronunce it "Layth", other times i pronunce it "Lay-Thee" just because it sounds cool :P

Laythe 100%.

Easy to encounter, easy to leave, easy to enter orbit(via aerobraking), atmosphere for planes, sea for boats and seaplanes, and very beautiful. I have a station around with an SSTO and a land base with a rover and a seaplane.

it also looks very beautiful.

I voted Laythe. Haven't been there yet, but I dig the oceans and sandy beaches.

I actually have to wonder if Laythe might not be as habitable as it looks.

Its oceans should be frozen, unless they're full of ludicrous amounts of salt and/or ammonia.

I don't know that this is necessarily true. There could be could be substantial geo-thermal activity below Laythe's crust keeping it warm (possibly driven by decay of radioactive materials in it's core, like Earth). It's also possible Jool gives off plenty of heat to keep it warm as well.

But seriously, Kerbin is 5 times denser than lead, so I'm willing to accept a bit of hand-waving that makes Laythe habitable.
