Oh new parts......at first I thought this was experiment to get to orbit using only decouplers lol =P

Parts are looking good, I for one like the pod as pictured. Can already see other good uses for the structural parts too....deepspace fuel tanker, massive move anything orbital tug.

I like the cockpit. Especially for a huge ship we need something big and dramatic and space-opera style. We have plenty of Apollo-style ones and some sleek fighter-style ones and the Cupola. We need something that looks like a *Bridge*. The stuff you're making is for massive ships; how about something like that with a crew complement room of like 5? Big view port, wide and a bit deep. 3.75 nukes are for gigantic ships taking long trips. You need a Star Trek/Star Wars style bridge to do that, not locked in a can for 6 months.

I like the cockpit; hell, I'd even like it a little bigger. It's not meant to be aerodynamic, it's meant to be comfortable to drive a giant ship with 10,000 sqft of cargo across the solar system in. It's a step in moving beyond 'expendable' ship designs, which I'm all for.

Looks nice, but I'm not a fan of the cockpit. It looks both not aerodynamic enough to be launched without a fairing, and too big to fit into one. A spherical, 5m one would perhaps be a good idea. Something resembling Discovery from 2001 Space Odyssey. Just remember those who like putting their ships together in orbit, launch-by-launch. :)

Looks at picture of freaking huge rocket on the launchpad. Worries about aerodynamics of the cockpit...

I've had an issue where "Repainting" those hexagonal cylinder cargo containers refills them completely, which gave my 4 part craft enough delta v for a return trip to jool xD. (No idea if this is a known issue sorry) And I wonder if they should be available right at the start, because with FAR it's really easy to get them into orbit and takes all the challenge out of the early missions :P

That would be a FireSpitter issue :)

And yeah I will move them down the tree. They should NOT be refillable.

Have you had anyone complain about how destructive these parts are? i was playing around in Sandbox with .25 and your freight parts, making SPH VTOLs, and every time i would try to land, it would blow up the runway, no matter how slowly i touched down. maybe it's just me? i'm a bit of a leadfoot on aircraft.

Nope, just you ;)

Dang, those nuclear engines on that big freighter must be terrible for the KSC. Radiation suits will most likely become standard clothes for the KSC Ground Crew (The buildings have radiation shielding, so the kerbals inside should be fine). Hmm, I think a mod that simulates radiations and radiation poisoning for kerbals would be interesting (I know Interstellar has a radiation hing, but I don't know how it works exactly).

Those engines are scary... I assume those ore canisters where full on launch ?

The nukes are actually pretty impractical for the launch, I assume you'd launch the freighter dry with a very large launch vehicle :)

i have a question there i samw MM file for USI interop for Interstellar and some other mods when i can find it?

UndercoverYankee has a thread for that

Any general ETA on the new toys? Week, two weeks, two months? I've got my main station and EPL built around Kerbin and am starting to build my Duna Colony Fleet. These new toys will make a *dramatic* difference in what I make and how. I don't want to spend 100 hours creating a locust cloud of 20 ships just in time to have the goodies to pile it into 4 clusters :P

I just finished the last model. So I'd say you will have this in your hands for the weekend if all goes well.

oooh shiny! And hurray for PNGs, might just cut FTT memory use by 50MB or more. :)
