The WORST thing about KSP

That's more of a pet peeve, this thread is about the absolute worst thing about KSP, the very slightly misaligned textures on two of the Kerbodyne tanks. Please stay on topic.

If you took the above seriously, please check if you have the Sense of Humor mod installed correctly.

I think we've been missing the actual worse thing, which is the off-set hatch on the Mk 1-2 Command Pod.

At least with the 3m tanks, a simple 5º turn lines up the stripes.

With the Mk 1-2, you can rotate the pod until the hatch faces one of the four walls of the VAB, but then if you undo any actions or do anything else to reset that part, it'll rotate back to it's initial position. Plus all the other little annoying symmetry issues it causes.

Far, far worse than the big tanks and anyone who disagrees obviously doesn't play the game right.

That there is no resources to mine, the game is not at 1.0, no Kerbals in Elite: Dangerous, to addictive, must add K to every word, no Kerbals in Star Citizen, no comets in game, no stock cargo bays, no Kerbals in Space Engineer, and no FP view when EVA'ing.

No love (or I guess hate in this case) for how your rocket jitters a little when held up by stability enhancers, and therefore is skewed sometimes as much as TWO DEGREES from straight up on launch?

I have to agree, and have been thinking of just making my own from structural parts. It would be somewhat like the ones I used as landing legs on my Eve lander project seen here at 10077. While not the pretties things in the world they are effective for the cause, however I think I might have to use beams and not the cube parts like I am currently. I actually had a rocket slip out of the "stability" enhancers upon loading the launch pad, it loaded and fell off (kind of funny to watch).

To me, saves and quick saves, nothing like being in the middle of a mission that went awry, for most of us that is due to ourselves :)

However deciding to then hit F9 and find I'm taken via WABAC to a period three missions before just kills it for me - current mission I was on gone, but the ship i designed is still there in the VAB, but with non authorized parts because I'm set back before I unlocked the tech tree node, etc.

My second peeve is the staging order getting skewed when adding a subassembly, or even (to me) when building out a set of stages, sometimes the engines get "placed" higher up in the order then the current stage level I'm currently adding to ... (I hope those who have more time in the game know what I'm saying here.)

Overall though, I love the game. I may get even less time to play in the future - my gals have put their feet down and we're getting a dog, we all know who's going to end up entertaining the pup. :)

Hmm, pupnik one ... but without the Gecko drama or conclusion, there's an idea!

No kidding. I like to use that pod as an escape capsule for my big ships and it just will not point the right direction. And even if you do get the ladder lined up right, if you control the ship from there then the horizon will be skewed. Big pain if you were planning on landing horizontally... :P

I do not find the text misalignment to be as bad as the total lack of direction in the sandbox game, there is absolutely no in-game "main quest" guiding you to your next goal.

It is just too easy for a new player to accidentally do whatever they wanted.

I'm not really sure if you're being sarcastic here, so I'll take it at face value. That "lack of direction" is one of the things that I value most about KSP, if it was just another game that you "play through" until you "finish it" I'd have given up long ago.

I think you understand now why I deleted all the nasa tanks as soon as I noticed those textures...

Do you calculate that with or without taxes?

(also, why do you feel uncomfortable around prime number? On a curious side, I wonder if there is a phobia for that. And if there is, how it's called.)

Looking at the first post: If you're already annoyed by this, did you ever tried the mk3-mk2 adapter and putting something on them? They are a few inches apart. You know how ugly that looks? This is the main reason I don't use mk3! :D

Shift+Q or Shift+E will slowly rotate the parts. Do this for the Quarter-size tank to you don't mess up the LOX Pipes, and everything will be fine
