Anyone else uninterested in .25?

As someone who doesn't play career mode, .25 didn't sound exciting and I still haven't upgraded. Which is odd, 'cause I'm usually all about upgrading and trying things bout. I did download the update and made a few thing explode, which was neat, but otherwise "meh." Perhaps its the lack of anything new to do, as I've been all over the system several times.

However .26 does sound great, with everything getting biome's and the editor changes.

I'd recommend giving career mode a go, and that's coming from someone who's pretty die hard into sandbox.

And even then, it's been fun playing with the new SP+ stock parts, rebuilding some of my craft that used the mod parts in the past. And being able to use the Alt key to force node attachment is really nice in the editor, slicker than Alt+R with EditorExtensions.

I've recently started career mode... Its still pretty *Cough*Pathetic*Cough* but atleast it kept me playing for another 5 or so hours in total. Even though I didn't have so much fun but atleast there was some sort of a goal, even though it wasn't a great goal (I'm talking about unlocking the tech tree) I still prefer "Science Sandbox" or as I like to call it "The Career mode before it got ruined mode". But oh well,

It's been talked to death that the latest slew of updates don't have much for the sandboxers. Especially if Squad's gonna start cherry-picking mods, they're technically not even new parts. Hopefully Apparently they've confirmed future updates have fewer career frameworks and more content as we're entering beta after .26.

Oh I tried career the tech tree and career when they came out. The tree was kinda fun, having to rethink how I did things and brush up on old skills. Career was stunningly uninteresting, but that's just me. The contracts were mostly ridiculous IMO.

Naturally, after posting this, Squad releases a note about the game entering Beta with the next upgrade, so maybe a break until then would be good.

Nothing exciting in 0.25 for a Career-mode player like me either, compared to 0.24.2. I can't land Spaceplanes for the life of me, so pretty much gave up on that side of the game, so the Mk2 parts didn't add anything for me. The "Strategies" tweak and convert between the different currencies, but since the current game is so unbalanced it's trivial to always have enough of all anyway so there's nothing exciting in that part of the game either for now. I still don't really "get" Career Mode anyway - apart from unlocking the tech tree, what's the aim? I do like the contracts though.

The NavBall enhancement was a bit disappointing compared to the ENB mod, and destructible buildings? Really? Exciting framework for future functionality, but doesn't add anything to the game right now.

Apart from that some of the little tweaks and enhancements were great and made it worthwhile anyway, such as the difficulty settings and having to pay to research parts, but unfortunately there's a game-breaking reason I haven't really played 0.25 yet, and that is the "ejecting Kerbal" EVA bug. So for now, I stick with 0.24.2..

0.25 Doesnt really do much for me either a few nice tweaks, I think the explosions are to far over the top and need to be toned down a little. I tried the career mode went back to sandbox didnt like it, hopefully when it hits beta it will be more refined and memory wont be such an issue when using mods

Meh. I loaded 0.25, started it and played with it for about 15 minutes. Nothing really special that was worth ruining any current saves so I deleted it. I'll keep running .24.2 for now until 0.90. Even then, I'll probably wait for the "bug fix release" after that...

I called way back when they added the SLS parts that every update there after would focus on Career.

Sandbox is pretty much done with. They are adding the much needed spaceplane part updates in two batches.

But besides that its all about career stuff.

Personally i try out as much as i can as often as i can. So i run two saves, a main one in sandbox for all my biggest hopes and dreams with NO PART MODS. (so it can be transfered to new versions) and a fordable career one.

This update really was about three things:

1. SP+

2. Administration building

3. Laying framework for Upgradable buildings.

Next update will probably take more time, as .25 layed more groundwork than anything, as it did come out faster than the last few patches.

The biggest shakeup for Sandbox players will come in the form of MK3 part rework, as i feel these parts are bound to shake things up a bit. Being very shuttle like i would hope to see squad make a bridge between rocket players and SpacePlane players, in the form of better support for shuttles.

I can't say im hyped about the new update, as it was pretty clear it brought improvements, not groundbreaking new changes. But i'm pleased about the additions and the direction the update is taking, as it was the final building block on which scope completion shall rest.

0.25 finally got me playing career. I tried before, but until now it just seemed like unnecessary restrictions on top of Sandbox. Now it's finally starting to make sense. With 0.90.0 bringing in Fine Print (the stock contracts get old quickly - this adds some variety) and upgradeable buildings it's feeling a bit more like a strategy game that has you flying a sim for missions.

Besides, 0.25 also upgraded the nav ball (those new markers are brilliant), lets you transfer Kerbals through docking ports and made the "Z" key useful (max thrust). Plus new stock spaceplane parts, if that's your bag (not mine - prefer rockets). Those features alone are worth the download time in my opinion.

0.25 has not been a big change for me either. Not a space plane guy, although I am starting to try a bit more so the new parts are not make a big difference to me but I appreciate the effort. Destructible building doesn't add much to the game either for me but I hope that will enable cool new feature in the future. I do like the administration building although I think it will need some tweaks to make it really good but I like any addition to career mode.

The part of 0.26 (0.90?) that really excites me are adding biomes everywhere and the upgradable buildings. Those two things could add a lot of playability to career mode IMHO. The Kerbal Experience feature is also intriguing feature although I don't understand fully how it will effect game play.

Not completely uninterested, but I'm uninterested in the crap Squad tried to promote most. I like building planes so obviously the new parts get me excited. Destructible buildings and the admin building... meh. The game could go on just fine without them. I'm not rolling back, but I'm not using those features.

Various Kerbals will get XP as they do science, launch stuff, and travel on and on across the universe. When they get enough XP, they'll level up. With each level, they'll get things like better flight abilities, running faster, hadoukens, a jet pack, new space suits, some materia, military style ribbons and medals, a parachute on the backpack, an assortment of fine cheeses, and binoculars.

Destructible buildings isn't something that I was looking forwards to in this update, but the one thing that I love in 0.25 was the changes made to the editor. Most notably where you can now hold down alt to force node attachment and also the fact that you can now tweak this thing to be open in the vab:

Yeah, pretty much.

I Haven't upgraded to 0.25 because of a couple of mod incompatibilities, and I already had Spaceplane Plus (which I'm hearing is actually better than the modified form of it that's become part of 0.25) and I really don't feel I'm missing much.

Edit: Or rather all I feel I'm missing is the increased content that some of 0.25 versions of my mods are offering!

See, I'm more of a Sandbox guy so I totally understand the "meh" factor of .25 KSP. However, you should upgrade to .25 because it comes with new parts (which are awesome!) and the all-important bug fixes (though it may also bring in new bugs so...)
