18t <> 18t

The craft stats are just not precise enough, should only round up in that case.

You know, for testing you dont actually need fuel in the booster. You only have to activate it by staging.

And 5 chutes are overkill, try 2, max 3.

I'm going to test this by making a part that's *exactly* 18 tons. Hooray for cfg editing!

UPDATE: I launched an 18 ton block successfully. You can launch things that are *exactly* 18 tons with no trouble.

Your astronauts really should lay off the green goo.

You don't REALLY need that parachute, do you??

I've never heard any negative feedback from my kerbals when I didn't include it!!

True, neither have I ( ゚,_ã‚Â゚)

Have your kerbal take a toilet break before launch. It should relieve enough weight to launch.

.03 metric ton is around 66lb... If Jeb loses that much weight using the toilet... Well lets just say I feel sorry for the guy.

Come to think of it... IIRC a kerbal in an EVA suit is around 95kg(?) and is around 2 and a half feet tall... So Jeb would have to poop out a mass roughly the size of himself to shed this weight. Even if he was pooping out a solid block of iridium (which is roughly 2x the density of lead) that would still be one massive turd.

Now this explains why the toilet seat in the astronaut complex survives complete destruction of the rest of the facility. Even if you drop a class E asteroid on it.

Jesus you guys can't take a joke.

Yeah the game really should allow for "spillage" if the mass beyond 18t still rounds to 18.0t. It's such a marginal discrepancy and saves on headaches.

Then we would have exactly the same issue with 18.05-tonne rockets.
