HELP! Need illegitametly dead crew back on station

Recommended Posts

I just had an issue with TAC life support killing all 6 members of the KISS before the food,oxygen,water ran out. I had 3 hours of food left, 54 days of oxygen and several days of water. Is there a mod that can assign that dead crew back to the station?

Did your station run out of electricity? You need that to keep them warm :P. Space is cold. Very cold.

As for replacing the Kerbals, I don't know of any mods that let you resurrect dead crew, but you could try editing the save file. I'm not sure how you replace dead crew though.

CO2 was maxed out :/ However that should have killed them, but instead TAC listed reasons of food,water, oxygen , arrgg . I found 3 lines of code you need to change in the save file to get them back

. Fingers crossed.......

1. A TAC entry

2. The vessel entry

3. The kerbal roster entry

Here is what I would do resurrect a dead Kerbal. I would use ALT-F5 to name a quick save. Quicksaves are a .cfg file which is pretty easy to find in your main KSP folder. Open that file up with notepad. search for exactly this:

state = Dead

make sure you have the right Kerbal, then chage it to read this. Capitilization is important.

state = Available

You can use ALT F9 to load up that quick save. Your Kerbals sould be waiting for you in the astronaut center.

Actually I need them back on station as if death never happened. Also using "available" would not work. I got it to work by using the "assigned" entry. Also to put the crew back in thier respective modules in the space station you need to use crew = "xxx" under a part. It worked and im surprised I pulled it off LOL

Also, check the station's carbon dioxide level is/was not almost maxed out - that's also lethal to the Kerbals.

The documentation at https://github.com/taraniselsu/TacLifeSupport/wiki/Description says that maxing waste resources has no effect. They're just dumped overboard and you lose the chance to recycle waste back to useful resources.

If it was indeed CO2 that killed them, I'd consider that a bug.
