  1. Well you live and learn! I have never had to do this before and ive heard of it so many times... All up and running now...not sure why I had to validate but ask no questions...... Thank you @Deddly 1.6 was running terribly laggy before @Deddly gave me your info....Thank you so much @Lupi!!!
  2. I will look tomorrow but never had a problem before Ground crew is turned off and graphics settings are identical across the 3 versions.....
  3. Finally got some time over Christmas to get on my laptop and look at version 1.6......urrmmm....I'm confused if I'm honest. I currently run 1.3.1 and 1.5.1 on my laptop and they run great. 1.6 however? Fresh install, no mods and I can't even move around in the VAB without serious frame jumping. It's totally unplayable....to the point where even loading a save takes forever? I'll take a punt and say it's not my machine yet I've tried everything to get 1.6 running smoother yet nothing I do works?
  4. Looks fun! When I get back on my computer I'll have a go at this
  5. I'm thinking @OHara may be right here with the screenshot however if you could provide a picture too it would enable more members to help you with this issue
  6. Is it a laptop? If so is it plugged in? I only ask as my laptop has a dodgy power lead and even though I have 100% battery power KSP instantly loses FPS and starts juttering when I lose plug power and it switches to battery...just a thought.....
  7. Due to Christmas preparations I haven't had the chance to update to 1.6 yet but I can't wait.... As for people moaning about this bug, that bug, bugs not fixed etc....and?? Nothing in life is perfect and nor is KSP so as I've said before "it's just a game"..... I for one appreciate the fun I get from KSP.....
  8. I've just woken to this news....farewell @Darth Badie ..... don't be a stranger x
  9. I have a complete spud of a laptop (hp elitebook ....8gb ram, nvs3100, 2.6ghz) and KSP runs fine....a bit laggy on kerbin, laythe, due to the water I think but not an issue once up in orbit, on the mun etc...you sir will be 100% fine now go and buy it!!
  10. Totally this. A month or two ago I found myself not feeling the love for KSP.....I played it every day and only that every day for so long one day I just felt flat with the game. I "felt" I needed more, more that KSP wasn't giving me. With that I went off to play Orbiter 2016 for a few weeks, followed by Simple rockets 2. Before long I came "home", back to the KSP I love but with a new vigour......not because the other games are no good, far from it, but now I have 3 similar games that offer different challenges and fun.. Oddly, when I fired up KSP for the first time in ages yesterday it felt like i didn't know what to do, how to build, etc yet within 5 minutes I felt like i did when I found this at version 0.90... @swjr-swis you've hit the nail right on the head
  11. Well, I'm 45 and have been playing games since having my Acorn Electron. I had a ZX81 first. Had Commodore 64, Atari ST, SNES, Mega drive, ps1/2/3 And an Xbox 360...... God knows how many games I've played in my life (10 yard fight I used to love) yet all I play now is KSP and Orbiter (which I must say as I'm getting used to it is fantastic)
  12. Well, I must say this..... Been playing Orbiter for the last couple of weeks and I have to admit.....it's hard!! Just managed a Moon flyby which felt like my first KSP orbit I achieved so my conclusion is.....play both! Without playing KSP first though I wouldn't have a clue what to do in Orbiter.... I have neglected KSP though whilst playing Orbiter (bad man I am) however I just did a Mum landing and loved it....massive smile:)
  13. I just started playing Orbiter yesterday and I really like it. KSP will always be the best game I've ever played yet Orbiter has a lot to learn and get my teeth into so the way I see it playing both I can't lose. EDIT...just found a post from April last year where I said I found Orbiter as flat as a pancake. Mind you, I remember now it had no sound so probably explains it
  14. Umm, ok..... It's certainly not the game which is unplayable.... If you need help with anything a civil question rather than a quick, unhelpful rant would get you up on your feet, just saying....
  15. Thank you I've only a 3 inch reflector as saving for something bigger next year however the homemade lens mount I made for my phone did a really good job (No more looking through the eyepiece as all on screen now). I have the original picture of the Moon as it looked however I thought it was a little bright so downloaded the Adobe Photoshop app from the play store and calmed the image down. It was my first and only go so far of doing this yet, when the weather clears here (very cloudy and damp (welcome to England lol)) I want to try more...saw the Andromeda Galaxy the other night...admittedly only a white smudge yet I'm hoping with some more practise I can "clean" an image to reveal just a smidgen more...I know my scope is pretty poor but without practising on it, no point trying to learn! I do love my picture though....has opened up a whole new potential hobby
  16. Here's a picture I took last week after strapping my Samsung S9+ to my small reflector telescope. I did lower the glare slightly to show more detail of the Moon.
  17. Exactly what I was just thinking! I've always played with the Comms off but want to try a career with them on.
  18. I went up, then down....fast and in flames....still happens occasionally .....
  19. We'll I for one am enjoying 1.5.... Fresh install and no mods it did seem like a performance drop however a quick defrag and optimise sorted that out
  20. It's true....floppy rockets are still a problem. I launched a small rocket no more than 15 meters tall and it wobbled like hell. I had to use autostrut to counter the wobble....the rocket was only 14 parts and was a simple design
  21. Hi all....so ive been playing RSS in KSP 1.3.1 for the last few weeks and decided to just play with the stock system today.....i have to admit, this view after i decoupled really took my breath away.....made me realise you can mod this game to hell but the real beauty is there for everyone :)
  22. Thankyou @Green Baron I will look into this information
  23. Hi all As a child I loved looking at the stars with my tiny telescope with my Dad. Time went by and girls became more interesting, followed by work, marriage, kids....some may know the drill! Im now 45 and, following the unfortunate passing of a friends father she gave me his telescope. Its rekindled my love of star gazing and for the past few weeks its been great....I've seen Mars, the rings of Saturn and Jupiter with 4 of its moons..... Its not a powerful telescope at all (D-60mm F-700mm refractor) so im looking to buy a reflector as I've always wanted one but never have. Id like to get "a little closer" to the above mentioned planets but also need enough light to get in the telescope to be able to see some "deeper" objects (Andromeda Galaxy) for example. Ive been looking at Orion and Celestron brands but is there a reflector you would recommend, regardless of brand? My budget is about £250 ($350) Thanks in advance.
