  1. That was almost 9 years ago mate, you might peruse the spacecraft exchange if you are looking for some inspiration
  2. Well... it has begun. With the stock ability to have multiple variants... why not?
  3. Though aesthetically pleasing, this is not the intended function of the boosters.
  4. Mostly I stayed up much too late. Sent a five ship flotilla to Duna and Ike. Had a ship coming home from Eve and Gilly around the same time the flotilla was arriving. Got to be a little stressful but managed to get everything parked safely. Deployed a science "base" on Ike: And got some custom suits working:
  5. @Nozza Those parts appear to use only stock functions and don't require the plugin to function. You can either download the mod from it's page and delete everything except the coupling folder. Or you can download this, where all I've done is delete everything. Mod originally by Katten, distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Public License.
  6. Depends on the rocket and payload. Sometimes it's better and cheaper to strap some boosters on versus moving up to a larger diameter stack and bigger engine.
  7. Perhaps I misunderstood your post, I thought you were looking for help getting mods from others updated, not ones you distributed yourself. Knowing what the mods were would make helping easier, but do carry on.
  8. Thank you for the replies, the information is much appreciated!
  9. Ok so my first response wasn't particularly helpful. So here's a quick and sloppy video to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. This was done in three minutes with blur effects. Spend more time, get prettier/nicer/uglier results. It's done in paint.net but GIMP has similar features. So paint.net is much simpler to use, but doesn't have a lot of the tools that GIMP does. One tool in particular I used to love in GIMP was the smudge tool. It's great for making painted edges look worn out or scuffed. I used it a lot on edges to make things seem overused. Ugly texture there, looks ok on the model (or so I think anyway) Final Disclaimer: I have no actual idea what method @Nertea uses, this is just one simple way.
  10. Looks hand painted, probably done with layers. GIMP or Paint.net are some decent free paint programs you can use to achieve this sort of look. Basically lay down a background layer with the color you want. Then add a few transparent layers on top and start experimenting with different brush shapes and transparencies in various layers to get the look you want.
  11. When asking for mod assistance, specifics are your best hope for answers. What are the parts that don't work? What mods are they from?
  12. Any tips on what versions of Blender and Unity I should acquire that work best with KSP these days? I know the .mu importer only works with older versions of blender. Any other headaches that are new?
  13. Landed the big boy today after delivering a capsule to orbit - the margins were pretty narrow. By narrow, I mean I ran out of fuel about 10 feet up. It's a miracle it didn't tip over. I will definitely need to trim some weight or find a better flight profile on this one, but it -does- work. Posted more on Project Pegasus too, if anybody is interested:
  14. Made some progress on Project Pegasus - performed some boring analysis and some rather tense proof-of-concept testing. And the teaser:
  15. I'm gonna put that on the list, thanks for the idea!
  16. Got started on the next big project!
  17. I think you've tricked us into watching kerbal snuff films
  18. You still have to adhere to the license terms in whatever permissively licensed version you use. That's very important.
  19. The fun thing about licensing is that it does not apply retroactively. If you release version 1.0 under an attribution license, then release the same assets in version 1.1 as all rights reserved, everything in the previous version is still under the attribution license meaning they can be used under those terms.
