I fixed the title for you, but just so you know, you can change the title of a thread by editing the first post and "go advanced."

Rover not getting any traction?
Vanamonde replied to MrUberGr's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Switch to the "ruggedized" wheels. They were added to the game specifically because the other wheel types have such poor traction in low gravity. -
If you're using Imgur, there should be a BBCode link auto-generated, which you can copy and paste here, without additional formatting.

That game you couldn't stop playing growing up
Vanamonde replied to plainawesome's topic in The Lounge
Archodus, I felt the same way about Morrowind, though I was already grown up when it came out. I would be running around on quests, turn a corner, and be stunned into standing still and just staring at the scenery and light effects in that game. -
Playing Since .18 Finally Visited Gilly
Vanamonde replied to Kilmeister's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Do you have terrain scatter turned on? Gilly is the rockiest world, so you're not getting the full experience without terrain scatter. -
(Psst! Find one of his other posts and rep that one.)

This is where you can get them, robopilot99, whether some other people want you to or not.

This should be in the suggestions sub-forum. And now, it is.

Docking - SO close but no cigar
Vanamonde replied to GungaDin's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You can dock with only the main engines, but then, you COULD perform surgery with a hacksaw, too. GungaDin, dock mode is intended to be a player aid, but it's only an alternative, and you're not required to use it. I don't, because I don't want to keep two sets of steering reflexes in my head and switch back and forth between them. -
[Discussion] Questionable design decisions
Vanamonde replied to macegee's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It's not clear to me what you mean by this. Squad hasn't stopped making documentation, but rather they haven't started making documentation. The game is still so heavily in development that they don't waste time writing up features that will be changed, so that they don't have to re-document. In addition to weekly Devnotes and irregular announcements, HarvesteR himself has posted recently. The Squad guys don't post very much because they're busy making the game, but they certainly aren't ignoring the forum. They can't update every aspect of the game in every update. I'm not speaking as a moderator now, but as a long-term player and observer of the forum. Every few months, somebody stats one of these threads which boil down to, "This is my pessimistic subjective impression of how badly the game development could breakdown, so I am going to start angrily blaming Squad *now* for things they have not done yet, and might not ever do." It's an over-reaction, and premature. If you don't like the way something is being handled, if you believe it should be done another way, post about it in the Development sub-forum. They *can't* make everyone happy and they won't do everything the way you personally might want things done, but they do listen and consider player opinions. There's no need to be so angry about it, and there's no need to (as other threads like this have done) start throwing around accusations of incompetence and dishonesty. And there's certainly no need to treat other forum members as enemies, and throw around insulting terms like "fanboy." -
You'll need to transfer files from three places: the save file (whatever you've named it) from the saves folder, and your ship designs from the VAB and SPH.

People reject the new rocket builder groups.
Vanamonde replied to ExplodingRocketShips's topic in Kerbal Network
You can't force people to like your offerings. They may come to you and they may not, and you need to respect their preferences every bit as much as you want them to respect you and the work you're offering them. From your second post, it seems you're coming to understand that, and please try not to take things quite so personally. And since this thread seems to have served its purpose, why don't we close it now and get on with discussing the game? -
Help needed: any way to save/land on jool
Vanamonde replied to fenderzilla's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This sounds like a how-to kind of a question, so moved to the how-to sub-forum. Carry on. -
Any mods that make the exterior windows transparent?
Vanamonde replied to Dave Kerbin's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Mod question, therefore moved to add-on affairs. Carry on. -

Hello Kerbolz. Welcome to the game, and to the forum.

Question answered, so let's close this thread and not start a redundant Kraken drive discussion.

Many of the parts in this still-developing game are first-drafts or placeholders, so you're right, there really is no advantage to using the two later antenna types.

Help With Duna Re-Usable?
Vanamonde replied to ThePresD's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Shameless self-promotion: the first craft in my reuseable interplanetary ship thread has made multiple trips to Duna, Eve, and Dres, while hauling 70+ ton payloads. Oops. I think I mis-read your post. Mine is an interplanetary ship, not an SSTO. -
GOG.com sells Il-2 for $10 or so. It's interesting, but there's almost no instruction or learning help. The "tutorials" are non-interactive vids of the game. It may be as great as people say it is, but I don't want to spend weeks figuring out how each individual plane flies, so I just mess around with instant missions. Not bad for $10, though.

Ship Request - Build this ship or something similar
Vanamonde replied to Turbojet's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
You don't need two request threads for the same ship. Closing this one. -
Hello Jngodup. Welcome to the forum.

It should be with the fuel tanks and engines, though it's a few steps up the tech tree if you're playing career mode. Also, some tabs have more than one page, with a button to advance on the lower right. I don't remember if fuel lines are on the first page right now.
