  1. Why not leave it as a dwaf planet and add a whole new moon to GP2 instead? Doesn't that leave us with more possibilities in the end?
  2. I know. And I think we should have a part that behaves as .17 since we can't use parachutes like that anymore...
  3. Wouldn't a parachute to help land vehicles brake be great? Just a small parachute that has no 'full' deployment to rip things to shreds if they're going above 70m/s and can actually open at ground-level: helps to slow down things on the ground without brakes potentially tipping them over and to slow aircraft down for landing and land extremely small probes...
  4. I'm still waiting for minerals. It feels like a lot of the improvements since 0.19 were minor background things, or parts we already have in the two other sizes. Science might help a little but I want a reason to go to space and since the new celestial bodies were added the increase in such reasons has been sporadic at best.
  5. Actually, here's hoping there's a large size science bay available as well; something more like a small lab than just a bay...
  6. Now try passing a week like that. 1.75 days. I think my laptop would crash before that time passed, and at the very least the SAS would begin to drift of course, so you'd need regular course correction over that time too...
  7. For me the minimum price is £8. If it isn't worth that, it's dlc, not an expansion pack, and should be patched in for free.
  8. Strap it to big rovers to make mobile labs.
  9. So, when you do this, do you have it all planned out what will happen beforehand? or do you play the game and see where it lands you?
  10. Would have, but since it was in .17 and .18 came out the next day, it never actually did. (Besides, I never EVA'd anyone out that time, so the first Kerbal to step on the Mun, Jeb naturally, made it back safely).
  11. Likes: the lack of structure, just a universe, tools and your own imagination. The sheer satisfaction of pulling of something hours in the making. Dislikes:lack of stuff to do on planets, like science or resources. Launching. 20 minutes of following the prograde marker and hoping lag won't tear the ship apart in the process is not my idea of fun...
  12. Ships that previously landed perfectly well on parachutes alone (at Kerbin) were ripped apart on full opening once I downloaded 0.21. At 190m/s. After a multiple launch, probe and personnel exploration of Eeloo...
  13. Put sepratrons onto my SRBs backwards, launching them directly into the rest of the rocket during takeoff... So, launching a fairly elaborate craft to Bop and back, only then to realise that it basically amounted to and orange tank with a NERVA in 9 parts rather than 2 (the sole reason for it being elaborate was for it not to be that, but instead lighter and more useful).
  14. It's better than most but it can be very vicious to people who ask when updates are out, discuss features that won't be in the game, or ask what features. will be upcoming updates
  15. I had thousands of pieces of debris floating 75-69 kilometers up, and they would regularly get about about 800m from the crafts I was launching. I was thinking of building a huge plate with a big surface area to see if I could actually get a collision, but the debris (that and making it hard to click on vessels to target them) was affecting performance so I turned it down to 25 pieces max. It never got to dangerous levels though...
  16. Rozer is the illusive man from mass effect, and BERTY is Comander Shepherd. Jeb is Mal from Firefly, Bill is John Marston from rd dead redmption and Bob is Tywin from Game of Thrones. There's a voice for everyone else as ell, but it's too many to go through... My suspicion is that BERTY is going to subvert all the expectations of him being evil and end up disobeying orders to do the right thing, or saving somebody's life. All this worrying about the first law and freaking out and rebooting because of almost breaking it doesn't suggest a killer to me...
  17. Here's hoping the crew get the jump on him somehow, mutiny against him and against KSC and complete the mission on their own terms...
  18. Ooh, exciting. This could really do with a tv-tropes page, methinks...
  19. That "assuming direct control" just made BERTY a whole lot more sinister...
  20. Freaking clouds... I've never even seen a meteorite shower.
  21. Much as it sounds fun building things that rarely work, I kinda prefer creating thing that do impressive things in the least roundabout way possible. If my launches fail, it's a design failure or a quirk of the physics engine, so you can see how doing hundreds, constantly going back to the VAB to add in forgotten fuel lines or restarting because the physics engine rolled a one on not-timewasting.
  22. 15 and working on a Laythe base, but I can understand that the patience, understanding and design comprehension needed for this game are a few years yet for many people my age, sadly enough. IIRC, a poll once showed players are evenly spread between 18-45, with a few older and a few younger...
  23. I use mechjeb to take off (which is so damnably boring but still needs attention), and to fly boring missions that I already have done (e.g. getting fuel all the way out to Eeloo or something like that...). It is also useful for it's ability to plot maneuver nodes, fly half hour long burns so you don't need to sit there and correct when the ASAS wanders off course, its information windows, its ability to prevent engine overheats, or flameouts, and balance RCS. All this, and the game still feels stock, and there's nothing it can do that I couldn't also potentially do, so unlike other mods (which I fully respect) this to me does not feel like cheating. I also use hyperedit, never to go places outright, because that straight up is cheating, but to test things (e.g. is this Pol Hovering Exploration Chair to heavy, is the RCS balanced etc... before then taking it, sticking it to a rocket and actually flying to Pol and then exploring), and to restore things that go missing (e.g. my Jool and Ike satellites and my Gilly station, which all vanished into thin air mysteriously: getting them there took hours I am not willing to spend twice if I don't have to. I am also looking at getting chatterer (background radio chatter and other noises), because that's just harmless immersion, and the mod that replaces the skybox with a detailed real-life image of the night sky (same reason).
