  1. Whackjob... kraken drive.... *Imagines computer exploding*
  2. I'd say the dozenal system is better. With binary, numbers go hard to write really soon.
  3. Aerobrake so that your apoapsis is REALLY far away from eve. Do the plane change there. Shouldn't be a large burn at all. Then aerobrake into a lower orbit. Done.
  4. shutupandtakemymoney.jpg That looks epic.
  5. When you complain that your class isn't being taught orbital mechanics in Physics.
  6. Random ideas for Procedural Engines: There should be multiple engines with the procedural feature: eg an OMS engine, a launcher engine, an upper stage engine, a nuke. These engines should be scalable, ie, increased in size. With increase in size, the engines increase in weight and thrust. ISP stays the same. This scaling should be so that the engines can come close to the engines already in the game - e.g. the OMS engine gets a similar amount of thrust to the LV909 when scaled to that size. Increasing ISP for an engine should mean increase in both weight of the engine and a decrease in thrust of the engine. Meanwhile, decreasing the ISP would mean increase in thrust. Also, this increase should be different for different engines. The OMS would be able to increase its ISP to a lot more than the launcher, and so on. This feature should be limited by the tech level the player is on, ie, if the player is just starting, the hard limit on engine ISP scaling would be a lot lower than what the player would have later in the career. Scaling an engine beyond a limit or so would mean clusturing of the engines. For example, the upper stage engine would cluster beyond 1.85m and the launcher would cluster beyond 2.5m. This would just be a visual effect.
  7. Are you sure the liquid engines are attached directly to the tanks? Generally, you just press space till the stage for liquid engines, and then press shift to throttle up.
  8. This game can't be given ENOUGH rep. 'Nuff said.
  9. Now I'm thinking... what will you do during the 100s of days of wait when launching interplanetary missions?
  10. I think its made of normal stuff, just the gravitational constant is ten times what it is here.
  11. ramipro: That video was amazing! Thanks for posting it here.
  12. Australia, you say? Well, I live in India, so my timezone shouldn't be too off. I'm up for it. I'm a bit older though (17)
  13. Oh, that's not amateurism, that's average KSP disasters. Tbh, it is these kinds of disasters that make the game so much fun for me.
  14. Welcome! That's a nice SSTO you have there. I didn't build my first SSTO until I was a month or so into the game. Well done, good sir!
  15. I'd love to participate, but I'm in the middle of my exams.
  16. Nope. Its not even possible with mods atm.
  17. Is this only tanks, or engines as well? Because if it is engines as well, then this mod will occupy a permanent spot in my game.
  18. The next version of KSP. The version after that. And then the version after that....
  19. My KSP brain thinks: I need to do this with the whole trio sitting on a rocket. That guy is bloody enormous though. I guess the public doesn't really appreciate the size of these rockets.
  20. Why do I have the feeling that Ferram doesn't actually know what to do with his crazy launcher, and is asking us for ideas? What would I do with a 5000t launcher: Get something to tour Jupiter's moons. Like, land. Land everywhere.
