  1. Here is a Video entirely made thanks to KSRSS V0.5 ! There is some slight PP adjustment, but the mod in itself works wonder. Sorry, the video can't be embedded as it's uploaded on our website : Youtube reaaaaally smashes it, with compression artifact everywhere. https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Séquence-02_4.mp4 You might want to turn the sound up and toggle full screen, this is quite chill and contemplative, while being short ! This pic might help :p Thanks again for this mod, KRSS-Team
  2. This is neat, guys, well done ! I look forward to install it
  3. This mod is (almost) exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much ! But... Would it be possible to Save a craft in any Save other than the active one, right like you allow to Load a craft from any Save ? I'd like to have a "Design" Save with every craft in it, but I usually do a lot of tweaking to my craft from other saves dedicated to that craft / bunch of crafts. And it would be wonder to be able to iterate a craft in any save, and then save the final one in the Design Save dedicated to store and backup all the milestone crafts. Oh, and... Would it be possible to handle "Folders" ? I'm currently orgnanizing my crafts library, about 150, and I created some sub-folders in VAB / SPH, such as "Challenge", "WIP", "SSTO", etc. 150 is quite a lot to scroll from. Anyway what we have now is already working wonders on 1.9.1, thanks
  4. I Hope they'll look at this small article, I've link it to them on Twitter Thanks for your Feedback, DjPreside !
  5. Hi there, this is the most appropriate place to speak about our French Polls and results Everything is in French but our website has a Translate Button and i'm going to sum up the protocol as well as the results, here. Recently, our association (Kerbal Space Challenge) has invited the French community to tell about the features they want the most. It went in three steps : - Free text to gather all the idea from about 50 people in about 2 days, resulting in hundreds of propositions. We grouped them in 45 distincts features, 4 categories, being Technical Aspects and Game engine / Parts Contents and Design Tools / GamePlay / Performances. This in French, but here is the link for reference : https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/2019/08/24/quelles-sont-vos-attentes-pour-ksp2-donnez-votre-avis/ - Another poll with 10 selections to choose from these 45 features, from the most important to the less one (10 still belong the selection, so it is wanted !) This in French, but here is the link for reference : https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/2019/08/26/ksp2-votez-pour-les-features-que-vous-desirez-le-plus/ - Then, interpretations and results, the article is right here, this time you should be able to use the Translate Button to get the most of it, except pictures of course : https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/2019/08/30/ksp2-resultats-de-vos-votes-les-features-les-plus-attendues-de-la-communaute-ksc/ Some numbers first : 114 participants 25 already subscribe to our Forum, 89 don't An average of 9.2 features selected 1049 featured selected in total Now some statistics about categories as a basic sum of all the features selected, as well as a normalized sum : yeah, categories with 20 features obviously have more chances to get higher results than some other with only 3 features (say hi, Performances !) Title : Sum / Normalized Gameplay : 387.0 / 19.4 Technical Aspects and Game engine : 343.0 / 31.1 Parts Contents and Design Tools : 232.0 / 21.1 Performances : 87.0 / 29.0 Easy to point out that normalized sum is more interesting ! In this regard, Technical Aspects and Game engine come first, followed by Performances and then Parts contents and Design tools : Gameplay seems to be already good enough in KSP1 and it comes last, yep ! And indeed, this is quite something we've seen often, here and other forums. People want to have a step up in technical aspects, be it aesthetics, performances or tools / informations. Let's have a look to distincts features, now, to see if it follows the same trend. I'll only detail about the Top10, but you can find the whole 45 items here, translated with DeepL : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LPwFk4XL1ac3gIj6rhBWraD8-qaI-6ym/view?usp=sharing So, what do we have ? With and without weighting (10 points for the first selection, 9 for the second one... 1 for the last one), results are about the same, which means that most of the time, People do want the same features and they want it in the same orders or about. Let's see the weighted ranking : # Feature ; Result : 1 Improve environments to make people want to explore the surfaces of the stars: vegetation; topology; micro-reliefs; biomes; etc 490.0 2 Significantly improve graphics in terms of textures; polygons; effects; clouds; etc. 365.0 3 Optimize performance to build ever-growing crafts and foundations 310.0 4 Make physics more realistic: aeromodel; N-Body system; collisions; torsions; etc 292.0 5 Integrate a dynamic weather system with visual and physical impact 291.0 6 Do not start with a DLC and/or microtransaction logic 262.0 7 Integrate systems for the upstream discovery of stars and exoplanets: telescopes; scientific tools, etc. 216.0 8 Integrate a reliable and optimized Multiplayer 200.0 9 Have the functionalities of the essential information mods: KER; Kerbal Alarm Clock; Transfer Windows Planner; ScanSat; etc. 197.0 10 Be able to move around within bases; stations; vessels; as in EVA 187.0 Wow, so... by far, what is most wanted is the Environment enhancement, to be able to visit gorgeous places, with biome specificity, complexe relief, and so on. To have a reason to visit other places, taking the ultimate screenshot to share about the most beautiful place where you wanna set up a colony ! This is actually my first choice as well. What do we have next ? Let's sum up the 5 first : they are all about technical aspects. Yes, aesthetics, performances, physics, etc : players want to have a beautiful game, matching 2019 standards. They quite are confident about gameplay so far, they mostly want to have a modern game, candy eye, and reliable physic, as well as good performance to expand further, build huge crafts without the annoying framerate drops. Weather system would also be great ! Okay. Then we have No-DLC nor microtransaction. It's been a long debate right here, much less in French Forums, but it appears here, so this is also a concern for us froggies. Please KSP2 Devs and Private Division, do now screw up Multiplayer, obviously, comes next ! This is a feature that does not appear in the classic no-weighted sum, which means that this feature is not selected very often, but when it is, it comes mostly in Top3 if not Top1 : not every player wants to play Multi, and the overall experience with DMP and other mods had been "complicated". I'm personally not in that Multiplayer thing, but I'm pretty sure I would appreciate it when released, If it works properly And then only, Gameplay aspect, with some more "immersion", more linkage between game phases : being able to discover by ourselves the differents Stars and Exoplanet that we want to colonize, for instance ! Or having the common informations about our crafts and trajectories (like KER, KAC, TWP, etc) : in a word, filling what's missing. And the ability to walk / float in our crafts, bases, stations. There is more to discover in this article and the data themselves, but this is an overview : what do you think about it ?
  6. Hi there You might want to check this article, with the Translate Button ! We sent 2 polls to the French community to know what feature they want / hope the most in KSP2, and here are the results ! Tadaaaaaam ! https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/2019/08/30/ksp2-resultats-de-vos-votes-les-features-les-plus-attendues-de-la-communaute-ksc/
  7. Well you wanna it to go Full Throttle as long as drag losses remains below gravity losses : would your code lower the throttle past this point ? How is it managed so far : does it check by reducing to 90% thrust and checking if the increment of the ratio DeltaV/FuelBurnedMass is still optimal at 100% ? (Edit : don't mind me, this is an algorithm approach here) My own algorithm did it this way, even if never applied in KSP : checking this ratio, going up while the ratio is increasing. Once at 100% (cause you'll almost always be able to reach 100%), it'll check every 5s if the ratio is still the best at 100% by going down a little, say 10%. If not, it'll go back by adding 10% to the thrust value. If not, it would lower by another 10% the value, and again, and again, at each timestep. Only the 100% value would be a more "stable" position, with 5s to avoid that 100-90-100-90-100-90-100... Yoyo, but this is definitely needed to check if a lower value is not more optimal, sometimes. A better approach could be to interprate the "acceleration" of the ratio itself, to initiate the 5s check only when the ratio-acceleration seems to decrease faster and faster, meaning that drag is becoming an issue. Anyway, this is algorithm and not learning, so i'm wondering if your model would interprate correctly from dataset, that past some velocity, excessive speed is not a good thing : is you rocket powerful enough to meet that specific point ?
  8. Hello there ! First of all, thank you for the massive work and passion involved here, in creating RSS and other Tools that make KSP so much more realistic... ... But as we are speaking of realism, I need to understand a few things since I'm a bit lost and I don't know where to ask. I've installed the whole RSS-RO-RPO thing from CKAN with all recommanded mods. I'm reading quite a lot of article by now, about Huge Payload landing on Mars and all the problèmes involved. Parachute won't be possible, terminal speed won't be reached and final velocity will require quite some DeltaV to break the payload before it reaches the ground. I've tried a little Something, using the inflatable shield, 16t, and, well, no trouble at all. Nothing special, I was about 200 m/s some kilometers above the ground and it would have been easy to kill that speed in order to land, almost without fuel. This does sound right to me : is the atmosphere of mars representative of what it should be ?
  9. Hello there ! I and many other players, are struggling against a weird problem. Did anything change in the past days ? It used to work following your procedure that we detailed and traduce in French here : https://kerbalspacechallenge.fr/2017/12/15/mods-ksp-presentation-et-installation-de-ssrss/ Many users told me they were getting a very dark ground even in daylight, I tried by myseld on an all-clean install and i'm getting the same issue, here are some Screenshot of KSC at various hours, morning, night and noon : Album https://imgur.com/a/YSrYS will appear when post is submitted Any idea ? Everything else is working fine, orbital view from Tracking Station is okay, just like orbital View from a vessel, but this vessel is not being in the light, as you can see in previous pics.
  10. Okay thanks ! Regarding EVE, you advise us to install it, what is it suppose to bring, if not clouds ? Also, if it brings visual enhancement, how to use EVE since in seems to lack a config file or I don't know ? I'll install back the SSRSS Clouds Folder then, waiting for tips to use EVE properly
  11. Oh I see for Scatterer ! Should fix the issue, will try as soon as I can Edit : Oh, uh... How can I find and download a previous version of Scatterer ? Like this 0.0300 Version ? :s Regarding the Clouds, yep I've installed them in a first attempt and then I removed them so that i'm able to distinct what come from this folder, or from EVE. With the SSRSS clouds Folder, I had clouds, not really as effective as EVE's ones, so this is why I want to get them Do not hesitate to tell me if you further informations or if you want me to test things Thank you for your quick reply !
  12. Hello There ! First, thank you @Galileo for your work, I already had the occasion to congratulate you, but there is not too much Kudos when it comes to superb succesfull mods with a lovely continuation The thing is... I just followed carefully (yeah, everyone says so...) your Step-By-Step guide on the HomePage, getting everything working alltogether until I want to add some Visual Enhancement. Same, I followed your advices regarding the well known EVE, Scatterer, DOE and PlanetShine. But I can't get them to work at all. No clouds, No Scatterer Effect, DOE looks okay, and I havent tried proper situation to test PlanetShine lighting the belly of a craft Let me sum up what I did to be sure of what we are dealing with : - Step By Step guide to install SSRSS and all its mandatory mods (working so far ) - Download and install of the very first link of EVE, here : https://github.com/WazWaz/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/releases - Download and install of the Scatterer Mod, through SpaceDock : https://spacedock.info/mod/141/scatterer - Download and install of DOE, through Github : https://github.com/MOARdV/DistantObject/releases/ - Download and install PlanetShine through Curse, the very last release : https://mods.curse.com/ksp-mods/kerbal/224876-planetshine#t1:other-downloads Your link regarding PlanetShine does not seem to work anymore, so I had a look on the internet and people were saying that PlanetShine updated for 1.2.2 still works for KSP 1.3. Oh and finally I applied you patch for the highly detailed terrain, gorgeous !! I end up with this GameData folder in screenshot : But now, when I open the Game, no clouds, and the EVE button tells me that a Config File is needed... Yeah ! Of course it is, but I don't know which step I failed because it does not appear to be any Config File to pilot EVE. Regarding Scatterer, same it shows up at the Menu, with the control panel where, by default, somes boxes are uncheck. If I don't do anthying, well... Scatterer does not affect the game in any way, no water shaders, no atmospheric scattering, etc. So i tried checking theses boxes to activate, maybe, the water shader, at least to see if Scatterer is able to do anything, and still, nothing. I've read the mention "restard may be required", but nothing happen, even after a restard, Boxes stay uncheck. Anyhelp ? Of course SSRSS is great by itself but I definitely can't play without some visual enhancement Thank you in advance ! I've read many pages, here and on internet, not finding why I appear to be alone in that case.
  13. Haha, actually they really do not fly well... But quite reallistically I would say, just enough autority to make large turns
  14. Incredible, MDZPNMD ! Here is mine, it is more than 3 years old, so using the old souposhere : Here is the full thread, for some more pics : http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.fr/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=523&hilit=2000t&start=600#p26114 So what about the ranking, is it still up to date ?
  15. Thank you very much ! Just head up for my previous message, 6 april, to see how to download the launcher and its payload
  16. Hey there, I promised to show you some pics of the payload, the all-in-one Station. Here are my first attempts of KVV, for some very (VERY) detailed pics ! Please clic on thèses pics and once again on the website to see the full size. Just a small warning : they weights between 8 and 21mo Please do not hesitate to give me any constructive feedback !
  17. Not exactly following the rules as it was before this challenge, but this entry might interest some of you Totally okay to land without legs and chutes, done quite a lot of time ! Any bonus for a sweet water landing for thèses winged lateral boosters ?
  18. Let's hope you'll enjoy then ! Btw, I forgot to say that this last craft, the massive launcher, is available to dowlnoad here ! http://hangar.kerbalspaceprogram.fr/?showcraft=413 Since it is a french Platform, just follow me : first, hover your mouse in the upper right corner, on the altimeter-ish (which is in fact the number of downloads). Then Something shoud show up, and you'll have a big green button untitled "TELECHARGER" which is the french translation of "Download". Here you are, .craft is yours !
  19. Wow i'm very glad that you enjoyed the craft and the video edit itself ! It became my favourite craft even if I had to test it sooooo many hours haha. Very reliable and efficient while not using a single asparagus montage, and very fun to land each part Yeah really, thank you for your feedback, do not hesitate to point out any things you would improve ! Just in addition, since you probably won't read french, the third stage is also reusable, using a high speed deceleration from very high and energetic trajectory, capable of returning from mun without heatshield, thank to its resistant rear parts and extra fuel to reduce the velocity at key moment. I want to show the payload itself, which took me hours and hours as well, it is an all-in-one compact station, scoring 250 parts, and which need to be reassemble in orbit to shape a compact and complete station. But I doubt i'll have the time to do a proper showcase, so il will probably be a Twitch Live that I will record... But in french :s Anyway, any other comments are welcome of course, and maybe a day I'll join the team of "Epic Engineers"
  20. Hello there ! Thought I could post here my last showcase about a 100% reusable massive stock launcher, which took me about 100+ hours to build, optimize, shoot and edit Be sure to turn 1080p and sound on ! ^^ I hope you'll like it, here is my showcase thread if some of you want to see more crafts
  21. Well, not much enthousiasm here Maybe this one will be appreciated ! Took me a bit more than 40 hours to create and optimize this full stock launcher, capable of 100% reusability, with some innovative methods I think I really hope you'll like it, I did my best here, and any constructiv feedback would be appreciated ! Thank you for watching
  22. Okay, thanks, best luck to find the remaining issues
  23. Hey guys, I really look forward to play with this awesome mods, thanks both of you and the other involved of course ! Any idea about when an officiel update is planned ? Is it about days or weeks ? Thanks again ! No rush, just to get the information ^^
  24. Here is my last video ! A cinematic based on the ExoMars mission, that I wanted to reproduce as precisely as I could while being stock Here It is ! Be sure to use 1080p and turn on Sound Took me quite a lot of time, so... Feeback appreciated !
