Can't see a satellite contract orbit in map mode.

I am sure this is an easy one to answer. I can't see the orbit for a contract I accepted for a satellite around the sun. Does anyone know what is up off hand?

You have to be in orbit of the body to see the line, OR target the body

You are probably orbiting Kerbin, therefore you can't see the orbit.

What about while I am in the tracking station? I won't be very efficient if I have to take my satellite into solar orbit before I can see where I need to be.

Just fly the satellite, focus view on the sun, and it should show up.

So you are saying that I need to have the Satellite in orbit first? Before I can see where it will need to be? I will try that at lunch break.

@Kryxal is correct. If you're flying a satellite (an unmanned probe of any kind, I believe), you'll be able to see the target orbit.

I still did not have any luck seeing this satellite orbit. Here is the contract I am working on. I see satellite orbits around Kerbin but not the sun.

In the tracking station, all you have to do is doubleclick the Sun. You don't have to fly anything.

I think it would actually work from any vessel, but you need to focus view on the celestial body the contract calls for the satellite to orbit.

These are correct. To be specific, if you double click the sun (or tab until it's the focus) in the Tracking Station OR in Map Mode (it works the same in both), then all Sun-centric orbits will show up.

In the Tracking Station, you see all of them whether you've accepted them or not. In Map Mode, you only see those orbits for contracts you've accepted.

I have definitely not tried this yet. I really appreciate the answer, I am sure this is my problem

I could be mistaken, but I think it needs to be unmanned to see it in map view. I like to stack contracts, and will often take a satellite contract for extra cash. I throw the satellite on the crewed vessel for travel, but even within the target body's SOI, I can't see the target orbit 'til I separate the vessels. I remember once I thought I went to the wrong Joolian moon. I had to double-check the contract and the tracking station before I realized I just needed to detach the satellite.
