Day 1-

The Jumping Flea Mk. 1 is built, allowing the kerbals to reach for the stars....

*Jeb* Mission Control, we have liftoff!*

*Gene* Copy that Jeb, you are clear to do some SCIENCE!

What goes up...

A successful mission! Jeb wasn't happy  that he didn't get to space, but that's tomorrow's mission!;)

Cheers-

With the success of the Jumping Flea Mk. 1, Wernher created the Jumping Flea Mk. 2-

*Gene* You sure this'll work?

*Wernher* Ja! Ze flea should blow up the hammer after it is expended.

*Gene* Ok....Sounds kinda risky....INTERN, GET ME SOME COFFEE!

*Jeb* Let's launch this sucker!

IfwUDce.png
*Jeb* YEAA DAWGIE!

aaUbYAK.png

*Jeb* Mission control, this is Jeb...the Flea failed to burn the hammer away. What should I do?

*Gene* WERNHER! YOU TOLD ME THIS WOULD WORK! AND WHERE IS MY GALL DANG COFFEE!?

*Intern* (trembles) Here it is sir!

*Gene* It's about time...Oh, and Jeb, why don't you just hop on out the capsule? If the telemetry's right, you've got an apoapsis of 41 klicks, you should be fine to use your Eva pack to slow down.

*Jeb* Good, it's about time I had some fun!

 KzClTa7.png

*Jeb* Here we go...

*Gene* Intern, get me MORE COFFEE!

RZRurND.png

*Jeb* YEEE HAWWW!

And that's it for now, folks! More will come later tonight...oh, and Jeb Made it back to the KSC safely. I just forgot to take some screenshots, sorry! :(

Has it? I wouldn’t know, I downloaded it quite a while ago. If you’re having trouble, you should ask HerbuSan, (and Dunamaniac) he’s one of the CKAN guys.

Day Three-

In order to get more science, mission control deicded to launch a few unmanned probes-Solntse and Razmakh.

Solntse would be launched in an elliptical orbit around kerbol, to gather information on the dying star.

Liftoff!

NBPMtQv.png

Flight is nominal, accelerating to orbital velocity.

TQiH1Iz.png

Second stage cut-off, prepare for orbital insertion.

91X4VfN.png

Orbital insertion is a go!

nl9bJaL.png

And now we have our first look at the feeble rays of Kerbol with the scientific instruments...Much to the KSC's surprise, kerbol is dying. The kerbal race only has a few precious years left before kerbol will go supernova, and scorch their home. The only hope for the kerbals is to flee to the nearby Aryaa system, and rebuild civilization.

So naturally, the kerbals must send out probes to gather as much science as possible.

Here is the journey of Razmakh-

Launch! As you can see, the kerbals are wasting no time...time is of the essence if they will survive.

JsxlTBW.png

Orbital insertion-

rshDF4H.png

Interplanetary Injection burn-

OedYnQS.png

Good bye, Kerbin...

8uuRGPs.png

Orbital Insertion around Romily-

4AjXqb4.png

Razmakh was designed to be an orbiter, but science is so precious to the endangered kerbals to the point they will push the boundaries of their technology. Thank goodness Romily's atmosphere is quite tenuous...

mFlCDjT.png

And touchdown!

6BiPzcJ.png
Wernher was please with the science returned....It will prove instrumental in saving the Kerbals.

To avoid polluting Romily, Gene decided to blow Razmakh to smithereens "Dispose of the craft in a professional manner to avoid potentially contamination or Romily"

*Gene* Fire it up!

Anwho, that's it for tonight folks! You can expect another installment soon.tm

Wait a minute...

That's the older version of Romily. Oppo was added after I changed Romily, so how can Romily be old, if Oppo is newer?

Ah...

I'm now on version 0.3.1.

It may say that it's only compatible with 1.10, but that's not true, it's actually compatible all the way down to 1.8.1.

I dunno...I’m currently on v. 1.9.1. Maybe I’ll just download it via space dock....hopefully I don’t screw it up!

Hey guys-

Sorry for the lack of posts. I have been quite busy as of late, but I have been able to sit down and play for a couple hours. I have a good chunk of material, so you can expect some more regular posts to be coming up.

(also, I accidentally corrupted my save file! I just cheated myself some science to unlock the nodes I already had....is that alright?)

Cheers!

The KSC has set the goal of sending a crew to Doosem and back within two years. The first step is a simple fly-by with an unmanned probe.

Razmakh 2 prepared for launch

euKurkI.png

*Gene* Alright flight, how's it looking?

*Flight* Everything is nominal Gene, we are go for launch.

*Gene* Light this sucker up!

k3LmDgJ.png

*flight* We have cleared the um....launchpad.

*flight* beginning gravity turn, all  systems running.

c6PSBmG.png

*flight* Stage 1 shutdown confirmed, prepare for stage separation.

AeyjCCU.png

*Flight* Stage separation is successful, and we are go for orbit.

eAjVbEL.png

*Flight* Apoapsis has breached the Karmen line, we are good for engine shutdown and coast to orbit.

*Gene* You are go, flight.

*Flight* Copy that.

*Flight* Orbital insertion is go.

bhz5xJY.png

*Gene* De-orbit second stage is a go.

*Flight* Copy that

*Gene* How's the booster holding up?

*Flight* Everything is nominal.

*Gene* Good. We are go for landing.

AxXmKCb.png

*Gene* That stage is getting pretty hot...slow it down a bit, will ya?

9CgGhx8.png

*Gene* We are go for landing...this is a great day for our space program!

*Gene* GET ME MORE COFFE, I CAN'T HANDLE THIS STRESS!

*Intern* (spills coffee on console)

fsRP4Hy.png

*Intern* Well....The rocket wasn't THAT expensive, was it? (nervous laugh)

06iqGik.png

*Gene* At least we landed PART of it....

IBNoBSC.png

*Gene* How's our trajectory, flight?

*Flight* It looks good Gene!

*Gene* Good.

9Kthc5p.png

The R&D was very please with the data returned, but they need more before they can determine the potential of Doosem.

That's it for today folks! More will be coming soon, I have just been very busy lately, so apologies for the lack in uploads. Cheers!

Hi all-

I'm really sorry for the lack in uploads, it's just that I have been swamped with schoolwork and semester tests. It's extremely time-consuming to play, so there has been little time for Ad Astra. I have managed to play a bit lately, so there will be some more uploads soontm

Cheers!

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack in updates....but here you go!

Spoiler

The Kerbals have finally been able reach a long awaited destination...Resola! After 82 years of the space programmes hard work, the wait is over!

(just for clarification....I do a lot of 'maintaining' it's really loads of Relay Sats that would be incredibly boring to look at, so I just post the more exciting stuff)

*Gene* This is mission control, do you read me Sokol 1?

screenshot66.png?width=720&height=405

*Lansley* Loud and clear, Gene! All systems are nominal for launch.

*Gene* Alrighty then....let's launch this fire keg.

*Sokol 1 Crew*  WAIT WHAT??

*Gene* LAAAUNCHH!

screenshot67.png?width=720&height=405

screenshot68.png

*Jimbob Kerman* I WANT OFF!!

*Gene* You can get off at the next stop....Resola!

screenshot69.png

*Mission Control* We have booster burnout, you are clear for separation

*Lanley Kerman* Roger that

screenshot70.png

*Mission Control* Booster separation confirmed, you are go for orbit!

A few minutes later...

*Mission Control* First stage fuel depleted, you are go for apogee cost.

screenshot72.png

screenshot73.png

*Lanely Kerman* Roger that, the Solokov 1 crew is a-ok! Except for Jimbob and Ergert...

*Ergert* LET...ME...OUUUUT!

*Lanely* Ergert, get away from the hatch!!

*Jimbob* *pukes*

*Gene* Godspeed, Solokov 1....you are the leaders or a new era of exploration! You are the best of us.

*Mission Control* Solokov 1, you are close to apogee...telemetry is nominal, prepare for orbital insertion.

*Solokov 1* Copy that, flight!

3...2...1..

screenshot75.png

*Mission Control* Alrighty...that was a longer burn the usual. You guys know why>

*Solokov 1* Why

*Gene* You're on your way to Resloa! *kackles*

*Ergert* LET ME OUT!

*Lanley *swats Ergert away from the hatch*

*Lanley* Talk to you in a couple days, flight. This is Solokov 1, signing off.

Many snacks, escape attempts, and breakdowns later...

*Mission Control* Solokov 1, we forgot to mention that you are on a crash course, so you're going to want to start a suicide burn in, oh...25 seconds.

screenshot76.png

*Lanley* WHAT?! *Scrambles for controls*

*Jimbob* *Pukes*

*Ergert* Hail Kraken, blessed are your attacks, for you are the cause of spontaneous spaghettification...

*Mission Control* BURN BURN BURN!

*Lanley* Starting suicide burn

screenshot78.png

*Jimbob*  *Pukes*

*Ergret* Resola is scary...I wanna stay in here!

*Gene* Great job team! Get ready for Kerbalkind's first EVA on a celestial body! And while you're out there, maybe you should look for some rocks. More importantly, we need to find out if Resola is made of Cheese snacks....

screenshot79.png?width=720&height=405

*Gene* Good Job! We're proud of you guys. Time to come on home

*Lanley* You heard him guys....time for a three day journey home!

*Jimbob* Let's get back inside the Orel.....I fear I may puke!

*Mission Control* Alrighty, you only have enough fuel to escape Resola's gravity well, you don't have close enough for orbit, let alone a Kerbin ejection. So....point straight at Kerbin and light it up!

*Lanley* ALRIGHT! Let's light this sucker up!

screenshot81.png*Lanley* We are on our way home!

Many, MANY snacks and Rhode-cheese samples later...

screenshot82.png

*Mission Control* You are about to re-enterKerbin's atmosphere...things are going to get toasty!

*Solokov 1* Oh boy.....comms blackout in 10...see you on the other side, flight.

*Mission Control* Godspeed, Solokov 1

*Gene* Good luck, boys.

*comms blackout*

screenshot83.png

*Lanley* Whoo, the cheese is melting...mmm....

*Ergbert* I HAVE NEVER FELT SO ALIVE! WHOOOO!

*Jimbob* *turns a darker shade of green*

*Jimbob* gotta hold it in....

screenshot84.png

*Mission Control* This is Mission Control to Solokov 1, do you read us?

*Solokov 1* Loud and clear, flight! Chutes are primed for deployment.

20,000 meters

15,000 meters

10,000 meters

screenshot85.png*Solokov 1* Chute deployed!

*Mission control* Alrighty, we will be waiting for you at the recovery zone!

9,000 meters

7,000 meters

5,000 meters

3,000 meters

1,000 meters

screenshot86.png

*Chutes deploy*

*Lanley* Oofta, there's some g's...

*Jimbob* *pukes* Aw man! I almost held it in...

900 meters

700 meters

500 meters

300 meters

100 meters

Splashdown!

screenshot87.png

*Mission Control* Good Job! We are glad to have you home...we will be fetching you in a few hours! See you then.

*Solokov  1* See you then, flight.

Many scientific advancements were made from this flight. Resolian rocks were discovered to be quite like rocks on kerbin, albeit older. There were also Cheese deposits amongst the rocks, for some reason. A surface base will have to be constructed to further investigate the mysteries that Resola holds....

(Spoiler alert! I already built a base! That report will be coming tomorrow)

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed. I will have to work on my story-telling abilities, but until then...

Cheers!
