(KSP 1.10 + 1.12 ) Mission Controller 3.2.0 (Final Version) (Updated 6/25/2021)

3 issues, 2 major one minor:

1)

I have the same issue as Apollo13 - conditions all ticked green in the mission summary box, but trying to start scan gives 'vessel needs to be in orbit'.

persistent and log files. Ship is called 'Munsat'.

2)

I launched a comsat with a repair panel, and got the mission to go and repair it. Completed successfully. I undocked, and moved the repair ship to a different orbit (I'd forgotten to put parachutes on, and it still had 2 repair parts, so I left it for next time.) When I looked in mission building again, there was another repair mission for a vessel called mk1pod. There is no ship of this name, but I thought maybe the docking had scrambled the naming and that it was the same pair of ships (at this point they were the only two things in existence apart from debris and flags). BUt they weren't. Docking again produced a message saying wrong ship:

They are in the same persistence file linked above, called ComSat Repairer, still docked (clawed) together.

3)

A minor issue as well, I bought two kerbals, sent them off on a mission, deleted the 'bought kerbal' notes, and changed to a different vessel. The notes re-appeared. Deleted them again, changed to a third vessel, notes were back. Minor issue though.

Really enjoying the mod, though! :)

Both Apollo and biffspace Be glad to know I fixed the problem.

:) But can't release update before I make sure the other changes are good. So give me a little bit.

Oh have not checked the docking issue though yet. All I can tell you that any vessel that has repair Panel on it will get a contract supplied to it. And contracts are udpated during flight also, so could cause a problem. But I might have a simple fix for this.

Oh nuts. I didn't think I had mod parts on it. There is one one part from NovaPunch 2: PLF - 2.5m Bulkhead (NP_fairings_25m_Plate)

Its ok, I used Biffspace save file to figure out the issue. ;) Both are the same issue.

Ya I saw that when I was adding the New Insurance payment on Death I was adding. I might try it out, will take up less memory doing it that way, and cut down the code a little. Right now I create a List of Crew at gamestart, and check it against the current hired list. When hired list changes MC charges you.

This would probably be a good time to ask since i have the mod "Kerbal Economy Enhancements" in the following link installed on my game also in conjunction with yours to add more realism.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/87364-Kerbal-Economy-Enhancements

The reason why I installed it is because it forces you to have to pay all your kerbals an active salary of 600 units per day and that doubles when they are assigned on a mission. Also if Kerbals die in that mod as well so I don't know if you enabled it already that if Kerbals die you have to pay their families. If so I may be getting double billed :D. Any thoughts Malkuth on putting paid salaries into MCE by default? Maybe not the same amount, i think 600 a day is a bit high, 300 is probably more realistic but the idea is neat so I wouldn't need this mod any more and could save space just with yours.

@StevenJ: this has been discussed and rejected in this thread.

If daily salaries are added to MCE, allow the player, i.e. me, to turn them off. I don't use the mod referenced by StevenJ because the daily cost is ludicrous to me. I have a few dozen Kerbals that I've rescued; The daily salaries would be a killer and encourage players NOT to rescue Kerbals.

I do support the notion of paying Kerbals who are on a mission, similar to MCE vers 1.

@malkuth: I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional concerning Repair Contracts. When transferring the repair part to the broken satellite, often, it's not a full part that is needed; only 0.10 part. So a single Repair Canister (with its 3 parts) can service 30 satellites. Next time I see this happen, I'll get a screenshot.

New Preview Version 3. Ya I know but needed to fix some stuff and add a New Contract. (not civilian code yet)

Preview Version 3

1. Fixed Orbital Period check getting stuck or Orbital Research and not allowing you to finish mission in some circumstances.

2. Added Persistence to Mission Controller 2. Now all saved info (other then config stuff) is saved to your persistent file.

3. Added new Test Bed Story Mission. This Mini Story is about the Agena Test Vehicle you need to research Specialized Construction to be able to start this new Mini Story Mission.

4. Fixed a few other small issues. And maybe even added some more. :)

5. Added insurance cost to kerbals. You kill a kerbal it will cost you now! About 20,000 Funds to be exact. As always this can be changed!

Special note about this. First time for me going persistent with KSP. I have checked and it all seems to work. But can't stress enough that PLEASE Backup your save file. I ran all my saveFiles, and a few players that donated them to me through the system and all seems find. But just in case.. BACK IT UP! thanks. Oh and the only 2 values that were saved before this were total spent kerbals and total spent on TestRockets. Instead of having to code in a switch, I just transfered the system instead. these values will be zero again. Sorry but trying to reduce work load and problems!

As for salaries Discussed above. The original non released version of Mission Controller 2 had salaries. I played with it for awhile. was not a good idea. And is hell to code around a bug in KSP funds. So I dropped it will not be going back! Instead I have added kerbal Insurance back (Yes believe it or not Mission Controller Had insurance first).. This is the payment you must make to A Kerbals Will in Trust if he passes away, or squashed, blowup, accidentally falls from orbit.

If you use that other economy mod you can set Kerbal Insurance to 0 and you won't be charge in the config file.

Ok Ill check it out.

Anyone else having issues with Orbital Research?

I started a new save and was not experiencing the same issues as before, but I have a vessel that is green in orbit of the mun on all segments, but will not start with the sensor. I will try the new release, and if it doesn't resolve it, post a log.

Won't do anything in Sandbox no. Based on contracts and Funds.

Is that planned? Loved the previous version that had the 'historic' based missions that could guide a novice agency to the stars.

Or is there a previous version of MCE lying about for 23.5?

I seem to be experiencing crashes with MCE when in editor mode. I am using Preview 3, though Preview 2 had the same problem. I'm using KSP x64. To reproduce the crash, I start KSP, go into the VAB, then try to load a ship. The crash occurs whether nor not I have ships saved in my Ships/VAB directory.

Here are my output logs:

========== END OF STACKTRACE ===========

**** Crash! ****

I consistently crash on the line "On Contract Loaded event fired at startup."

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks for making a great mod, I look forward to more satellite repair missions, scanning, and the new Agena mission too. :)

Could you please add a option to disable the revert button? As much as its an excellent option to the default revert system, I like to play on a revert free game, and yes just not clicking it is an option however my toolbar is getting a bit crowed, and i'm not sure if i could resit the temptation  (Those engineers better get it right the first time before they dare strap Jeb inside a creation :D). Either way thanks for the excellent mod!

Should be fixed now anyway new version.

It is, thanks. With the new version installed, I experienced a weird issue where the game froze due to a persistent memory allocation issue (itself unrelated, I am sure), and when I restarted, all the contracts were gone, but new contracts were available, so it was fairly minor in impact. (However, Explore the Mun and Explore Minmus were no longer available, though I had not finished them.) The log, unfortunately, got rewritten when I opened the new instance, so I don't have a log, and I am also running Fine Print, but I wonder if there is something about persistence file changes that might have caused that. I will try backing up my logs each time I have to force the game to quit and send one this way if I can replicate the problem, to see if it is related.

Could you describe how the Agena mission is supposed to work? I got the first mission to complete (Launch Agena target vessel), but the second one asked me to launch into a higher orbit and dock with a ship that did not exist. When I tried docking with my target ship, moving it to a higher orbit, and then renaming the ship to match the name of the target in order to re-dock, I still had no dice. Is the mission supposed to spawn a target vehicle or is it supposed to find the original vehicle?

I have really been enjoying the unmanned missions, cheers.

You should be docking with the Agena Target vehicle you just launched. At first I had a wrong value when mod first came out. But now the vessel should read as your vessel your Agena Vessel Name. It records the name (which is not important in code, only for you to see the name) and also the Vessel ID (this is the important one you can't see it). As long as the vessel you launched during the Agena Missions was the actual Agena Target Vessel you should have no issues.

The problem with the name at first was that it was giving you the name of the actual Pod on the Agena and not the Name of vessel. ;)

Again, I can see the way contracts working as being a problem. If you accept the Agena Target Vessel Mission, and say also another mission. You do the Other mission first with another vehicle. Since Agena is active it will record that first vessel as the ATV Vessel. And will cause problems.

I will try to come up with a way for this not to happen. My suggestion is When you select the Agena Mission. DO IT. Don't do any other contract before it. ;)

I updated the front post to suggest this. I'm thinking of maybe adding a popup that notifies you if you want to record this vessel as Agena Target Vehicle. I do some test.
