Wow. Okay, I was a bit skeptical, but I have to admit that these clouds are the icing on the cake. You never knew you missed them until you see them. The effect of warping is really lovely too.

Not too sure about city lights without cities, but hey. Can't complain.

Yo rbray, having some big issues with saving. I dunno if it's just me, but it's impossible to edit the radius in a comfortable way. I can't adjust the settings, save, then it change. I have to either edit it through the configs, or just guess, then revert to save. Sometimes it doesn't even save. All the other settings are fine but the radius. Sometime i even have to restart the whole game.

Hmmm... I'll have to look into this. I'm holding off on any new releases until .23 is out tomorrow.

I can confirm this working in 0.23, no obvious problems. Which is good, I can live without the others for a while, but that dead rock needs clouds!

Fantastic! A shader problem has proven quite difficult to nail down. Think I have a good solution in the works. Still trying to work with volumetric clouds. Tricky :)

Well I felt the hd 8k clouds were a bit too much, so I found a different greyscale image with less clouds, and made it into a transparent 8k texture (it replaces kerbin2, though it can be renamed).

Problem is, the image quality was not as expected. It turned out a bit worse than I imagined from up close. Guess that explains the small 11mb size. However, it looks perfectly fine from far away. But I'm not so good with these things, so for reference, here's the greyscale, if anyone can make a better one:

could be due to the jpeg source... they have a tendency to be quite "artifacty"...

Ah, the JPEG is the problem...

Well, after fidgeting about, I managed to remove a lot of the artifacts, although it did leave it looking a bit painted-ish. Here (125km):

I'm quite happy with it. I'm sure some one else would make a better one anyway, I just wanted to share a quick texture I made.

Found an issue at the poles using the 8k clouds pack. Hadn't noticed this one before -- thought I'd share and see if others had seen the same issue.

Yeah, this is simply from how KSP renders bump textures on a sphere... As far as I know, there is no possible workaround (except for not putting any clouds to the poles...).

Well, there's two things I can think of. One, a higher resolution bump map if possible to combat the tiling, and two, less density in the clouds at the poles. Obviously somewhere between all and none there is probably a pretty good balance. Though, to me, the bump map never looks all that good.

Think fancy shaders...

Those have been in for aaaages. Sentar, Skelton and the laythe clone all have clouds.

Hmm... they may not be if you try and edit the config before you have them in your system... Might have to delete the user config.
