  1. That looks like it might be a seam in the model. Something that's not really noticeable when it's small, but when blown up to large size, it's causing some issues.
  2. I can confirm first hand that the Kraken exists. It never goes away, it just keeps hiding in different places.
  3. Good question, and off hand I'm going to say that they probably aren't shielded. Possibly to prevent them from inadvertently shielding themselves. (But I'd have to look to be sure.)
  4. Man... I'm like a day late! @Frybert, since I think he's trawling through the forums at the moment.
  5. Wow, that's rough. Hopefully you can get it righted (if you haven't already). Good luck!
  6. Can you upload a picture of your ship with the parachutes open? (Or where ever the problem area is.)
  7. Sign into what, the forum? The store? Something else? If it's the forum, it's possible that your browser is storing an incorrect password for one of the pages.
  8. Nop How's about a Vanananamonde?
  9. There's no requirement to update to the most recent version for Elcano. There's at least one Elcanite who is still on 1.0.5.
  10. I guess I'm not sure what you mean exactly by that. I'd have to go take a look and see. You can toggle crossfeed on them, so perhaps it's off?
  11. Well, I tried to load the save but it's full of mods. That in itself isn't a big deal, but I haven't taken the time to install the mods in question to have a look. We are tracking the bug report, however, there's not much to report at the moment.
  12. For this one, I'm going to say no. Any replacement vehicle must come from KSC. You are free to use any method to move it there (air, land, space, or sea) and it doesn't have to redrive the route, but must be delivered somehow from KSC. So this one is a little harder, and I might be stretching a bit, but I'm in favor of your overall concept...so I think I'm in favor of some liberal adjudication on this one. Resupply is covered via two rules: ISRU is permitted and refueling is permitted. Gas stations and such are also mods of "near term" technology. The only hitch is that they are sort of magically appearing in place. However, since you are navigating mainly in the blind to get to a location that you didn't place (and all your other plans), I'd say your overall mission is well within the spirit of a circumnavigation. In that case, I'm apt to call it refuel/supply depots good, and see how your mission progresses. But I can't in good conscience let the replacement vehicle come from there, because that seems to be a bit against the spirit of the rules that everyone else lived under (delivery of replacement). Though F5/F9 is allowed, so maybe this is all a bit arbitrary... Hopefully that's all clear enough?
  13. Yep, that's totally fine. So long as (as was mentioned above) there's a kerbal hiding in there somewhere. Might want to pack him an airsickness bag. It would certainly be a new, novel design!
  14. I think maybe I'm overselling it, or not explaining myself properly. I just meant that if you use an electronic map (such as captured from a place like kerbal maps), you could use that as your navigation aid and mark on it as you drive ("I planted a flag here!"). Then you could post that as "I think this is my progress." When hitting a known checkpoint, or maybe at the end, you could then show a screenshot of all the planted flags and see how close reality is to what you marked on the map. I tend to switch over to motor control and put it up all the way to 100% (no slip, and maximum EC sent to the motors). Then I use the friction slider to find the right balance of drift vs. too grippy. For Eve, I had to turn the motor control down from 100% because it was killing my batteries. *yes, "grippy" is a real word!
  15. Nope. No secret advantage except that it would also document your thoughts electronically for later uploading. Pencil-and-paper is also oldschool, and maybe you could scan/photograph it for upload.
  16. Yep. The imgur update broke some functionality. It's planned to be fixed, but Kasper is unable to work on it right at the moment.
  17. OMG, It's mE!! How about @Vanamonde
  18. You might be able to remove the key binding, if you really want to be hardcore about it. F4, I think (if it still works). I guess that's why I was thinking of having an electronic map, and trying to figure out where it's actually at. Maybe even plant flags along the way and mark on the eMap where those are believed to be planted. Then, maybe when it's all over (or you're at an absolutely certain checkpoint, like a specific island, peninsula, or the pole), compare it to the flags on the real map for everyone to see how it's going. If you're really wanting to avoid getting too much help in-game with the map, then I still really recommend going with a digital copy. And you ninja me.
  19. If you don't want to use map mode (I also prefer navigating by zooming out a bit in the stage view), then consider taking a copy of the map with you. Keep an electronic map of your planned route handy, and refer to it while driving and see if you can manually keep track of where you are. And I also understand the strange compelling feeling of going pure stock. I wanted to as well, though it doesn't gain any extra points or anything. Enjoy the drive. Kerbin is still my favorite in terms of terrain variety. Good luck! Haha. By the way, ALT+W is your friend.
  20. It's been there for a little while. Just be advised, I've had it trash some of the formatting in my posts, when I went back later to make updates (like the completion board for the Elcano challenge).
  21. I don't want to be dismissive and say "Yeah, it's because you're using add-ons." But that's likely the case, since my addon specifically targets stock components. So if an add-on is doing it's own thing, I tend to not aim fixes at other people's works. In the case of this "stuck kerbal" and "stuck docking ports" issue, there are some bits that need to be added to the code that handles the fairings. I would imagine ProcFairings are using their own modules, which this particular addon isn't going to be looking for. And the " Warning: Jebediah Kerman has crew but no interior model" is actually harmless, and isn't part of the issue of stuck kerbals.
  22. I like being at the front of the ship. Nice job!
  23. Wow! So much great stuff everyone. I feel like I'm so far behind the stories here. I can't recall for Kerbin, but of note, solar power is tentative when transiting the polar circle. (My little rover actually relies on them sometimes, despite having four RTGs.) The sun angles are so flat for a long time. Fuel-cells are probably better than an alternator driven system. Part of why fuel cells were added was because people were already itching for something like an alternator, so the cells are definitely more efficient in terms of power-per-LFO. In some ways, I wish I would have given the fuel cell powered vehicle a try, though it would be a bit bigger than my usual Jeep. Yes, for sure. I used the mini-ISRU once...for my second Laythe trip (because it seemed to fit with the design, was necessary, and I wanted to try it out). I was, sadly, very disappointed with it. I mean, I know it's going to take some time, but it was literally years of mining (after finding an area to support the miniDrill), to fill up the tanks. This is awesome! I love the screen shots, seeing all the infrastructure along for the mission. Nice job!
  24. Cycle the StockPlus option on, then back off. That should pop up the save button. Once you save, it won't come up anymore.
