Got most fo the interior stuff modeled. it should make the crashing and falling aparts more interesting. Also, the fuel tank might just be usable else where if you can stand all the weird brakets on it lol. but i think each brake point will be an attach node.
-
better texture would be a nice start. alittle changes in the model maybe too.
-
Hmm. seems that there is room in the bugger for a 1 meter cargo bay. but. i think i will not add one too much work 1 meter is boring.
-
care to transalte it into kerbal weights like how much kerbal weight would it be venture start wise.
-
It uses a lotThat is a lot of fuel.
I think it will be just enoguh to get it into sub orbit then RCS can be used to get it into the rest of the orbit. like the real shuttle. (depending on orbit desired and weight lifted)
Speaking of that. how much should this bugger be able to haul to orbit?
-
Anyway modelling the inner tanks in a way that shows their design makes the whole thing come to realixation that it is just a big fat flying f of a fuel tank that can fly. If i just made it a smooth wall that attached to other walls i feel this fact of flying f tank would not be conveyed.
PS. these where fun to model. Got to learn a few more modelling techniques.

lol yu ean like an Ann225?

I am thinking of moving windows back? it would require they be raised up. I dunno i feel is makes it seems more Russian/europian like lol.
-
hmm. Maybe. in yours it sort of looks like it pitches down. maybe if it connected straight on it would work more too. of course it scould also be an illusion. Try working with the x-33 that things makes all straight lines look bent because of its angles. lol. damn optical illusions.
Edit: I see you have it in othro veiw. which means it is probably just fine but ortho is displaying to weird. NM
-
looks good but the wing seems to blend into the body sort of weird. Notice in the real concept art they have it blended in pretty well as if they filled the seam in with caulk and soothed it over with their finger. other than that it looks really nice

windows have been redone. I looked to planes some more.
also tanks for the thing arre quite cool i guess that is why they failed so much
-
yep. http://www.spacex.com/multimedia/videos.php
pretty sure that engines are small and numerious in order to make refurb cheaper and easier and tanks probably just need new paint I think they said they are able to be reused 10 or so times? capsule 7 times.
\thing about the x-33 is it is all already built. the buildings most of the craft. the design is done. etc etc. lol.
-
If Elon Musk has his way and all falcon 9 stages willbeable to reenter and land with ot parachutes or ships going to get them then sstto will have no purpose ever again.
-
can i see screen before you slice and dice?
-
what on?I wish I could rate winner on here.
-
And yes. you know thye have the mostly complete x-33 hull laying around somewhere. wonder why they don\'t start up again... space x has shown that the market for sat launches grows as price comes down.
no cargo bay for you.
there will be one sort of
concept art of the more final lockmart design.

I found pictures

'Scientists believed that the Silbervogel would be able to cross the Atlantic carrying an 8,800 lb bomb to the continental USA, and then land in territory held by Japan in the Pacific. It would cover such a vast distance in a series of hops. After reaching 1200 mph with the help of a rocket-powered sled on a two mile rail track, the Silverbird’s rocket engines kicked in once it was airborne. Eventually flying at ninety miles and at a speed of almost 14,000 mph, it would slowly fall into the stratosphere and greater air density would give it a bounce to regain altitude. The size of the bounce would decrease each time, but German technicians still figured the Silverbird was very capable of making a mind-boggling trip of between 12000 and15000 miles.'
-
haha. wow. they had the whole x33 complex ready for somethign they never even built 0_O i feel bad for them.
-
Germans also imagined the first space plane. They wanted to bomb NY with a dirty bomb with it. It would have involved a shuttle like lander and a huge rocket sled/booster to launch it.
-
the windows are only like 10% larger than the windows on the stock capsule.
do you think i should scale it down just enough that 6 engines fit on the back instead of 7 a lot of people seem to dislike the size. I make it longer is the only reason I ask. It was too short. seemed I had my reference images width and height criss crossed.
-
after much logical thinking and using various things i made flaps0 for the wings and fins which move well in their models. Also, i gave it a nose job. It now goes form a sort of trangular shape toa perfect circle looks much cleaner and nicer.
-
I think you are just self centered C7
Yeah I plan to add lots of detail. I am just roughing the shape out currently. it is quite a complex shape actually. It would be 100 time harder if i did the wings correctly but I will not be doing that
As for the window i think you are right. I should make it smaller perhaps. But at the same time no so much. Capsule windows are small but planes need more viability.
-looks up to 1.200 scale models of every boeing plane made on the shelves- they all have the same shape window and it is scaled to the size of the rest of the plane. so i will see how it looks smaller but if not I a content with the size of it
cBBp SPC Pack v0.4: Fixed Failcan RCS and added some adapter pieces. Enjoy.

it really isn\'t that high. they are all three sided. if you can fly the durgun and failcan this will be far less polies lol. (not including the engines)
