  1. It is a movie quote (NL Animal House) Give it a go. It is a cool one.
  2. May I say single car to mun or the docking disqualifies me?
  3. I have got one that can fit, I designed it a few versions ago so in the pics you will see different loadouts. I will not really count my score (lost it after the durability assestment). My last loadout is a RTG powered twin seater, it carries one of each science instruments but the science Jr. It is slightly clipped but still each component is selectable. It is not an hot rod, averaging 12 m/s on flat terrain.
  4. Back in the days I used to love this kind of design. If you dig the forums for a user called "Kasuha" you will find he even managed a Jool 5 with a "craft" of this kind. That's why my old craft shared his name.
  5. La sesta sarebbe mettere il becco sul foro italiano.
  6. +1 for SMAC, I still play that too.
  7. My vote goes to TIE Fighter - never found anything that "matches speed" and I still play it these days.
  8. Depending on the resistance of the nosecone of choice you can completely avoid AoA. http://www.twitch.tv/signo1974/v/25850093 In this video I re entered with 0° AoA and I dived to KSC to land on the strip. The game settings are all by default.
  9. I think the resistance of the whole craft now depends a lot on the first piece in contact with the aerodynamic flux - as far as I know the best "spearhead" I found is the shielded docking port: I made some experiments with a few planes on kerbin and I tried a full Eve mission (blown up in Eve's upper atmo trying to aerocapture). Look at this short video - with a shielded docking port you can almost divebomb your descent from LKO - http://www.twitch.tv/signo1974/v/25578210
  10. I personally reentered from Mun with the Kerbal X, shielded by a poodle. Video footage of the trip - http://www.twitch.tv/signo1974/v/25390457
  11. To me it seems that heating is still "messy". I did not try Eve yet, but playing around Kerbin SOI with the stock crafts raised a couple of considerations: the Mk1 cockpit is not a good choice at the moment due to the difficult heat management it brings: I tried to land the "slim shuttle" at least 4 times but Jeb always got fried - engines are still the best heatshield around: I easily managed a landing coming back from Mun using the Kerbal X that comes with no heatshield. I tried my old 1.0.4 Mk3 stuff and the nosecone (tailcone type A) blows up during ascent at least 75% of times - problem is that just the nosecone blows up, the rest of the craft is completely untouched no matter what ludicrous speed I try to reach. Radiators still behave in a weird way while in orbit, I already experienced a sudden heat spike with no apparent external factors. I think that they wanted to kill or at least to limit all "slashers" SSTOs (low twr, low pitch angle & slow climb) and pancake aerospike landers. Edit: airbrakes need to be a little bit more resistant - like that they are "crappy"... I mean, I need to worry bout them exploding in a common re entry from LKO...
  12. Around 24000 for rapiers. Using ramjets it depends on the "rocket engine" I am going to use. Usually I let them to flame out by themselves.
  13. Do not take it as criticism, but I'd like some more plain, ignorant and simple "hype". We'll have plenty of new toys soontm. We are riding the Hype Train!!!!
  14. Made a small interesting one lately, just 10.8t. There is a fair 600m/s d/v to spare in orbit. Docking capable. Express engineer to LKO. Video link below (if anybody could toss me a hint about how can I embed twitch highlights I will be grateful) http://www.twitch.tv/signo1974/v/23715718
  15. I can't feel the hype. Where's my daily hype?
  16. That kind of wheels behave more like camouflaged crawlers than proper wheels: I found them more reliable and functional if used in low G environments like Mun and if operated exaclty like crawlers - just do not brake, input the opposite direction to have a better result. It seems to me that that kind of wheels are too much for the weight they are carrying around - if the load is too low you will miss traction, leading to difficult braking and easy lateral slides.
  17. In my experience wheels popping are related to many factors, including angle of impact and extra flexibility you can give to the suspensions - you might want to try to experiment with the "vagani" suspensions (fix your wheels to an ant engine instead of fixing them to the chassis).
  18. So, I had a look in my PA copy and there are at least 4 Jebediah "Jeb" Kerman just at first glance. None of them looks green at all. (mohawk or roundhead shades random tugs) There is actually one of the Jebs with no pic in the DB, born july 21 1969, convicted for killing Bob and Bill in a rocket sabotage. All of them got some kerbal hints in the conviction report.
  19. TBH I never save the two vessels "clawed" anymore. I had several (gazillions...) issues with claws being then stuck forever or unexpected explosions. I did warn about the kraky living in the claw
