  2. I've been doing something like this for my recent saves as well. The first of career mode feels really grinding.

  5. Sounds like that Rover just made its last successful reentry. The new atmosphere and heating effects aren't going to allow for that kind of thing any more. #mixedfeelings

  7. Caught myself thinking they should land on Venus's moon.... "wait what is the Gilly equivalent? Oh ya.. there isn't one." Gave myself a laugh. Too much KSP I guess. That said, I'm in favor of a manned Phobos mission. Hopefully with the intent of sticking a permanent laboratory there.
  8. So excited that scientists can clean experiments in 1.0! That will make this challenge alot more compelling for me. (never liked having to return a science laboratory to the ground)

  10. I'm not entirely sure which crowd squad is trying to please with the new aerodynamics. I'm thinking that the newbies will find it hard, and the realism folks will install FAR. Don't they have use cases and user persona's? If they did, I doubt this feature would have been implemented as described.

  12. I hope that the advanced aerodynamics don't become a stumbling block to kids wanting to learn about orbital mechanics. I know I didn't buy this game because I wanted an aerodynamics simulator.
  13. In PartCatalog you can choose a "Manufacturer" and then further drill down by part type, resource type and so on.
  14. I totally agree with your point that mods can and will evolve to co-exist with new features. Any analogy is going to break down at some point.. but I think the endangered animal analogy holds against your scrutiny: There is nothing to say that endangered animals can't evolve to co-exist with others in their niche.   15. Of course Modders know this. Did I ever put that to question? I'm not complaining about new features. I just wanted to open a discussion about how to keep Mods we love relevant as KSP evolves. For some reason this topic seems to offend a lot of people.

  17. I do miss the continuous updates to Fine Print, and also to PorkJet's works. It's funny how those mods were given life in some sense, but died in another sense.

  20. I apologize for any P1ss that you may have encountered. I'd rather not make any judgements toward the quality of stock features. But I do want to make a endangered mod list based on Mods who's niches are being encroached on by stock features. When a niche that an animal occupies is encroached upon by a new species to the area, the species is endangered or at least threatened in some way by the new species. That said, I would love suggestions to reword my post so as to offend less and accomplish more of my two thread goals.
  21. I think we can all agree that Blizzy's toolbar belongs on my "endangered" list. I think it will remain relevant (for now) as it provides extra functionality that stock does not yet provide.

  23. There are several high quality Mods that I love which are beginning to shares niches with stock features. I think it's great that stock KSP has expanded in these directions! The future of some of these mods is uncertain. In some cases, development on these wonderful mods may be slowed or CANCELED all together . But in many cases, I think these mods can still add value to KSP and the KSP community. I am endeavoring to create a list of Mods that are beginning to share niches with stock features. Please let us know how you think these Mods can remain relevant as KSP continues to progress!   24. You have a good point there. Maybe their approval ratings have dropped so low that they needed a way to limit our complaining.
