  1. FYI, I'm using this in 0.24 on x64 Windows version. It is working great! No problems noted.
  2. Jeb died on one of my early sub-orbital flights. NEAR aerodynamics caused me to loose control of rotation and my ship plummeted head first into the atmosphere. Most of my craft survived the Deadly Re-entry, except my parachute. I watched in horror as Jeb plummeted towards the ground and there was nothing I could do. Using: DRE NEAR No Reverts allowed.
  3. Exciting! Last week I uninstalled FAR because it was "too much" as you say. But the stock aerodynamics really leave you wanting. I am really excited to give this a try!!! Thanks!
  4. Gear, rudders, and left wing are still exploding on reentry.
  5. Hey I'm trying to create a MM config that can find all parts with KSO in the title which do not already have Moduleheatshield or Ablativeshielding, with the intent of adding DRE heat-shielding to them. Here is the filter I am using, but there is something wrong with it. Please help! @PART [*]:HAS[ #title[KSO*],!MODULE[ModuleHeatShield],!RESOURCE[AblativeShielding]]:Final
  6. I just did a single launch round trip to Moho's surface and back. That was fun. But I still haven't planted a flag on Eve and and then returned to Kerbin. I suppose that's one of my long term goals.
  7. Haha! Are we comparing this Ladder rescue mission to other tremendously difficult feats such as round trips to Tylo and Eve?
  8. I didn't know that either. I'll try that out. The game save I am playing in is extremely early in career mode, so I don't have ladders (other than the ones built into the pod), and I don't have command seats.
  9. Clumsy Jeb underestimated how much Mono-propellant he needed, thus he is now floating helplessly in solar orbit. I can get rendezvous with him using a rescue spacecraft. But once I am right next to him, what can I do? He can't fly over and grab the ladder. So, any suggestions on how to get Jeb into a rescue ship if I send one? Details: Early career mode (no ladders or command seats available) KAS, DRE, and FAR installed For fun, I want to save Jeb before I am allowed to unlock any more science.
  10. I suggest the following: 1. Researching a Part initially should cost about x10 more than the cost of buying the part for a single launch. 2. Charge a significant Fee per amount of Fuel used. 3. Upon recovery, the player should get a 100% refund for all safely returned parts. 4. Fuel is unrecoverable. Explanation: Making Research expensive but individual parts cheap makes use of the contract system without stifling the fun and creativity that players have while building (and crashing) all manner of spaceships. Who wants to use the same ship over and over? Charging a significant amount for fuel challenges the player to think about efficiency and to design wisely. (I find this to be fun)
  11. @Gaius, I love your parts! Very Stock like and very useful for me. Thank you! I'm very excited to see your updated parts in the future@
  12. Thanks. Not fun when i returned to Kerbin only to have my lander lynched by stock parachute opening.
  13. Ah, I found it. It is in the Module Manager folder included in the download. I think I must have cleaned that out accidentally.
  14. Is there a way to add Realchute functionality to the stock chutes? I thought I saw something a few weeks ago, but I can't seem to find anything on it now.
  15. The Ksp twitter accounted posted this video the other day. http://bit.ly/1tJlbFw The person in the video explains that aero dynamic control surfaces in Ksp generate lift when you move them, even though it takes nothing to power the control surface. So I'd bet that you have control surfaces which propel you when you pull up.
  16. Update from Santa Cruz: fog settled in and I can no longer see the moon. But the fog over the ocean is very red. Good night all!
  17. On vacation in Santa Cruz California. The beach faces South here, perfect for viewing the moon over the ocean.
  18. Do you think MOD makers will get into the habit of excluding their parts from compression just because they really like their own parts? I worry because it seems to me that everyone will start excluding themselves, and then ATM will no longer have auto-amazing performance increasing capabilities.
  19. People can do whatever they think is fun. For me it feels like part clipping is bending the rules (cheating). So I have fun with the challenge of designing my vessels without it.
  20. I'm bringing a class "E" asteroid back for a nice Kerbin equatorial orbit. However, this "E" monster was harder to reckon with that I thought it would be. So I sent Moar Boosters! 6 Vessels Grabbed on now: 1 Science Vessel/Boostership (primary propulsion) 4 "detachable grabber units" 1 "Control ship" (will detach after supplies are exhausted) See image titles and description for more of the mission story:
  21. blizzy's toolbar is practically stock. Anyone not using it should really consider it. Excited for an update NavyFish! Let us know if you need any testing, ideas, or research.
  22. GreenSkull, I think you had mentioned you were making one for Final Frontier. Is that available?
  23. Greenskull says he is making an Active texture management config fix for Final Frontier
