Used it while playing today. I really like the potential this mod has. May I suggest having AGX interface closed by default? Currently everytime I launch or reload a ship I have to close the interface so it doesn't clutter my screen. I like to open it when I need it and then close it again.

Mun anomaly missing? [ SPOILER ALERT!!! ]
JedTech replied to Tex_NL's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Took me an hour or so to find it. I can confirm it is underground (using highest graphic settings and version 0.23). I had to ram my point-of-view into the side of a hill and take quick screenshots in order to get quick glimpses of what was under ground. Squad Monolith:In the background you can see my sky-crane. I'm not sure that was worth the effort, but hey I found it! -
Oh wow, I'm excited to use this! Looks like the UI is very thought out. Congrats on release and thanks for creating this mod!

[0.23.5] Goodspeed Automatic Fuel Pump v2.14.1
JedTech replied to Gaius's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That would be a helpful feature. Perhaps a Dump option could be placed under "Pump Options"? -
Mission physiologists report that Jeb has been longing to return to Laythe. They thought that it was no big deal... until this report came in: Authorities responded to a VAB alarm. Hey it's Jeb!

Just finished a trip to Moho. I've returned Kerbals from all planets except the surface of Eve. So I'm twiddling my fingers wondering what I should do next. Eve is a crazy challenge, I don't know if I feel up to it today. But what should I do then? I don't know.

Gaius, I noticed some parts are geared towards mining an ore of some sort, and one for storing rocket parts. Which mods are these for?

[1.10.0] Final Frontier - kerbal individual merits 1.10.0-3485

I've also got lots of "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" in the log file. But not experiencing any significant problems. -
Well put. He sounds like a very Wyseman. I think I will subscribe to his teachings.

Even training aircraft have glass cockpits and autopilots these days. No they don't fly category 1 approaches, but yes, autopilots sometimes get pilots killed. Yes Macho. It is one of the Hazardous Attitudes that you are undoubtedly indoctrinated about. I didn't mean to imply that this was the sole or primary symptom among pilots with Macho attitudes. But yes a Macho attitude can lead a pilot to think they are too good to use an autopilot (as evidenced by some KSP players in this thread and by several student and Private pilots I have flown with.) Auto-pilots and glass cockpits (similar to what MechJeb simulates) can be used for many things besides sitting back for 5 hours. An auto-pilot can ideally be one of your essential resources to conduct a safe and efficient flight.
-
Having more flight time in real aircraft then many people have flying KSP, I can tell you that in the real world there are 2 types of hazardous pilots when it comes to using auto-pilot: 1. Newbies. New pilots tend to dangerously rely on auto-pilot; while not understanding exactly what the autopilot is doing or why it is doing it. The thing here is that the auto-pilot isn't actually a "pilot", it is only doing what it is told to do. Case in point: Newbies need to learn the complexities involved with their aircraft, flight principles, and computer automation before using autopilot while flying. Fortunately, in KSP this is not a deadly mistake. 2. Macho's: Some pilots who consider themselves "Decent" enough tend to think that they are better then everything and everybody. This is also a dangerous attitude that is proven to lead to aviation accidents. An Auto-pilot is a tool, and a truly good pilot can recognize a tool, understand it, and use it to their advantage to increase flight efficiency and flight safety; all the while maintaining situational awareness and complete control over their situation.

Capturing an E size Asteroid!
JedTech replied to MysticPing's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Ok, here's my plan 1. Dock/Claw a few dozen booster ships with really big engines directly to the asteroid (all in the same hemisphere). 2. Attach all ships together via KAS attachments 3. Aim for land that is near sea level, and wait to do a 15-20 second suicide burn. 4. Use Throttle Control Avionics to even out the thrusting and come in nice and controlled. -
Here's what I'm thinking for performing a Powered Landing of a Class E Asteroid: 1.

Oh, well now Asparagus staging doesn't feel so unique to KSP. I guess I shouldn't be sentimental about Asparagus staging.
-
Asparagus was invented by KSP fans for KSP. Plus asparagus is really fun to design and fly. I'd be sad if they changed KSP physics so as to exterminate asparagus staging.

I use Maneuver planner and Node Editor for Rendezvous. The Maneuver Planner gives you so many more options then the Rendezvous Autopilot or the Rendezvous Planner. Just memorize the steps and then you won't need the Rendezvous modules any more. Tip: After performing the Hohmann Transfer maneuver, use the "Fine Tune Closest Approach" option in the Maneuver Planner. This will make your closest approach very close (sometimes too close, so I commonly abort the maneuver early).

I dived into playing with creating cfg files. It really wasn't that bad. I can now re-size most of my tanks, thanks! Now I just need to develop a better habit of not changing the size Scale when I intended to change the pump level.

He's the commander of a 4 Kerbal mission headed towards Moho. (I almost forgot him, and had to bring him up via a fueling mission)
