KSP related items that I do not want to hear: "KSP v1.1 will also have a 32bit version for Windows" Which will inevitably be followed by: "My mod does not support 64 bit" "Don't talk about that, we have already discussed it before" "New Space Plane parts"

(STAR WARS SPOILERS) Was anyone else a bit disappointed with Star Wars?
JedTech replied to SlabGizor117's topic in The Lounge
It makes me wonder if the character was a male to begin with and then somebody said, "Why are all the stormtroopers male?". So they decided to get politically correct and inserted a female voice late in production. -
The asteroids materials would be converted in to metals and other substances used to construct engines and other parts.
-
Start with something already in space (an asteroid or "small moon")

(STAR WARS SPOILERS) Was anyone else a bit disappointed with Star Wars?

Her purpose was to be a female person in charge of stuff. -
Too often I am seeing forum members being aggressed by veteran forum members for starting a discussion which the veteran members consider as "already discussed". This behavior makes it difficult for us to have a friendly community that promotes healthy discussion about a game that we all love. New players are hesitant to post and discuss for fear of players who will come and troll them because they have already "beat the dead horse". Do we need a rule stop this kind of behavior? Perhaps this: Ridiculing or otherwise criticizing forum members for discussing something which has already been discussed is not allowed. Instead our omni-present forum members should consider the following alternatives: Don't read or post in the thread (for real, you don't have to beat the horse if you don't want to) Post links to other useful forum pages (you might just get a like and/or make a friend) Share your thoughts again (a short personal thought on "if mechjeb is cheating" may help a new player enjoy their membership in the community (even if you have weighed in on the matter before.))

US Space Budget: Hell-Has-Frozen-Over Edition
JedTech replied to Streetwind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
This Europa mission is worth its price if it can stop people from continually quoting this line every time Europa is mentioned. -
What mods should I get?
JedTech replied to ejimsmith's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
If you are looking for part mods I suggest: Near Future Technologies: Construction, Solar, & Spacecraft (I use the whole package, but I don't recommend electrical and propulsion to new players) Fuel Tanks Plus: lots of tank sizes for your custom construction needs. Lithobrake Exploration Technologies: To make bigger landers SpaceY: Has heavy lifter parts and also some useful regular size parts. -
You'll notice that just about all of the faces in view have a smirk on their faces. I'm sure that they all play.

What do you think of the new Q&A format here?
JedTech replied to cantab's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I like the new format. I think this new format will allow users to find helpful answers in a quick fashion. Who wants to read a huge discussion just to find an answer? -
Show kerbal job-title on icon?
JedTech replied to Jimbodiah's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I prefer it that way. Why should their specialization be a factor in deciding if they get rescued?
Because not all Kerbals were created equal. :) -
Nice! Can i have the craft file? :)
Giacomo, I've noticed that you like to download crafts. Take a look at this website: http://kerbalx.com/ Enjoy :) - - - Updated - - - Congrats on the Eve return mission RocketBlam!! I've been telling myself I need to do that for a year or so now. Maybe I should do it next!

Send a probe to Duna or Eve. Land and get some science. Do a manned mission later. You can probably use a modified version of your Mun craft. Just remove the command pod and add a lighter probe core.
-
I am sorry you do not like fun :P
It had a few laughs (harpoons and whales in space). But it took so long to review every slide. And then to not even mention the biggest bounce in recorded history? I'm actually a fan of XKCD. They are usually very fun!

Is overheating really a problem one needs to worry about on Moho in 1.0.5?
-
Well that was waste of 15 minutes. That wasn't even how the event unfolded. What is the purpose of this image?
-
My first Moho trip was back in 0.23. I had just completed the Jool 5 challenge so I decided to reuse my Jool 5 spacecraft for a Moho mission. It had LOTS of Delta V. The mission went very smoothly. Except that I had to use F9 a couple of times due to under estimating the time needed to complete a Moho orbit insertion burn.

Here are some contract ideas that might be fun on planet surfaces: Travel X kilometers in a rover while on the surface of <> Travel X meters away from your lander while on an EVA on the surface of <> On a single EVA, collect surface samples from two different biomes. To aid public relations: take a group photo (Screenshot) of at least X kerbals while on the surface of <> Some game changes that might help: If a user accepts a contract to go somewhere, then automatically offer more contracts related to that location. Add a feature that allows user to set "Agency Goals". User can set goals to flyby, orbit, land, plant flag, return, build base/station on a specified planetary body <>. The Contracts system should tend to offer more contracts related to the players goals. [*]Make it easier to dock/connect vessels to each other while on a surface. [*]KIS like functionality. Nevermind, stock would never be as good as KIS. Everyone just install Kerbal Inventory System mod

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
JedTech replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I agree they are beautiful. It is a very nice mod. But I can't find any information relating to scattered vs overcast clouds. In the past when I've used this mod you transit through clouds no matter where you go up or down at. -
Did 1.0.5 remove the large fixed solar panel?
JedTech replied to Wolfos31's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't want the Sentinel Infrared Telescope and related asteroid finding functionality. But I do love the other parts it comes with!! -

JedTech replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Do clouds still exist over every square inch of Kerbin or are there scattered clouds now?
