I hope everyone caught up in this lands softly on their feet, and in a few years' time look back at this as a learning experience. My wish is that we all meet again on the message board of the next space game that steals all of my non-working hours, and can laugh about this unfortunate situation. Thank you everyone who made KSP possible!

I didn't mean to say it that way. I edited my above reply. I said you clearly missed my sarcasm Agreed
-
No I got that, I'm on your side. I know what an NDA is. You clearly missed the sarcasm in my reply.

Pfft, what do you know? The guy is clearly here to stick it to us! I will agree 100% that Nate genuinely loves KSP. I "hate" on Nate because this is the big league and his project failed. These are the stakes. This is the feedback you get when you fail at this level. I got nothing against Nate as a guy. As a leader of a game? His track record is abysmal. I'm sorry, but his enthusiasm does not make up for his shortcomings. You can totally make the argument that he should never have been put in that position, but I'm seeing a lack of accountability. I don't care if somebody tried hard. I care if they did what their word said they would do. I agree to a certain extent, but Nate got paid the big bucks to put his face all over the pack of lies he fed us. He is totally complicit in all of this. Yes, of course there are people behind the scenes that actually screwed it up, but as i said, this is the big league. Flip it the other way; If KSP2 was a success, would you be saying "Nope! It's not Nate who made the game great, its this beancounter over here that actually performed the real magic"? Howbout this, I'll take back every single thing I've said about @Nate Simpson if he gives me back my $50. I feel that if he were to make it public that he was just an enthusiast who got swept up in this corporate baloney, and is trying to do right by us and get us refunds, I would do a 180* just on principle. As I see it now, he is richer than he was before he started KSP2 and we are poorer.

That's what I was getting at. You couldn't ask more from a lead mod. I'm faceplaming at the resources this game wasted. We had arguably the best community online, and that can't happen without support from the mod team. Now look at us. I don't think you could ruin a community more if you did it on purpose. Anything after the WARN notice is a bonus. Seriously.

I dunno why y'all are so quick to judge. I regularly stop believing in gravity when I need to go uphill for example. You guys should try it someday. I dunno why NASA et al keep up with this "chemical reaction" stuff. Its clearly inferior Also @Vanamonde I could never do your job. The temptation to give out joke answers would corrupt me

Looks like the patch just dropped. Smell ya later.
-
You figured it out all on your own, did you now? You deserve a star Any chance of you answering a question or are you going to continue to be unfunny?
-
Confidential. Stop trying to weasel your way out of replying. Go on, use your words and reply to what people are asking of you.

"Hi, I'm in this thread for instructions on how to get away from this thread" Some of us already do. This end-game capitalism is hitting like a freight train. Right to repair laws, forced arbitration, cloud/servers being shut down, etc. You gotta watch out nowadays. Every company sees the contents of your wallet as theirs.

So you are claiming to not be a troll? What are you then? Someone who does not understand the concept of debate? It is customary to prove one's assertions, otherwise we are left thinking you are speaking out of your behind. Look, nobody but you cares about your standard of what KSP should be. I get that you want to be edgy and not go with the flow, but your schtick is boring and repetitive. Good trolls are funny. You are not.

GTA 6 is going to suck. Mark my words. The city might be good, but all the writers are gone. The deal with the devil has already been done and all the rats left the sinking ship. If GTA 6 is not instantly better than GTA 5 in every way, it will be considered a failure. I see GTA 6 Online making money, but I also see single player GTA feeling like a GTA clone.
-
Is there anything in particular you're hoping to achieve by being a troll that actually comes out and says "Hey guys! I'm a troll!" I mean, It defeats the whole purpose...
-
This statement requires engraving on a plaque o7 You and me both!

Take it as a joke, but what I said is coming true. The day of the layoff announcement, I said Take Two feels like they stepped in dog poo with regards to KSP and want to get rid of it. Lo and behold a month later, its in IGN. As much as we can sit here and go over all the ways Take Two makes mistakes, they are smart enough to know that the KSP IP has a non-zero value.
-
You might be onto something here. Take Two won't listen to us plebs, but if we all "refund bomb" Steam, they might take notice and ask Take Two what is up.

I believe that SpaceX does not tell the whole truth in press releases. I did not believe for a second that they were serious about the "flip" maneuver for staging. Now, it seems fairly obvious that they were working on the hot staging ring the whole time, only it wasn't ready for IFT-1 and they weren't going to delay the launch to wait for it. Yes, exactly. This is flight test. There is a non-zero chance an anomaly might occur on an operational flight that causes a tumble during reentry. SpaceX is testing in case it happens. They don't want to learn when re-entering from Mars. CFD cannot model this accurately. CFD can't even model a Cessna without verifying the results in real life, so a program as hardware-rich as Starship is definitely doing as many real-life tests as they possibly can. Think of it this way, Elon wants to have his own "Little Joe" moment. Also, have you seen the footage? Go call up a PR firm and ask how much it would cost to produce a video that captures as much attention as those shots of the plasma streaming off the aft flaps.

Summary: KSP2 Development Timeline (What We Know)
Meecrob replied to The Space Peacock's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I thought we narrowed the name down to either "Kay Ess Pee" or "Labrek Space Program" Paradox is run by someone who might as well be Strauss Zelnick's brother. Check out the whole issue of Cities II being released prematurely to fill a hole on their quarterly earnings report, then when it flopped, they cut their losses because it would cost too much to make the game work. Sounds really similar to KSP2 to me, lol. -
I see what you are getting at, but I cannot help but laugh at the idea that the bar we are holding For Science! up to is that the InstaScienceTM system worked, lol. I mean, it better not be a disaster after removing 90% of the science system.
-
*Chef's kiss* If I am ever at a loss for words in the future, I am messaging you, lol!
-
Thank you! That is exactly what I am getting at. Agreed. In fact, as someone said upthread, you want some fresh eyes on the project you are working on. Its way too easy to get tunnel vision. I'll even go so far as to say that I support the devs using mechjeb if it is to ease their job. After all, that's why cheat codes were invented back in the day.
-
Yeah, if For Science! is supposed to be "polished and bug-free" I maintain my opinion of "it's not good enough." I know that you but it is absolutely full of bugs. Some of them still there from day 1. Maybe you should play it before you tell me how polished it is. I get the feeling that they knew exactly what the community wanted, but they wanted to attract a new community that is amused by shiny objects over gameplay depth.
-
Precisely! "Nigerian Princes" are looking at this going "ooh, that's low"
-
I cannot word my point properly, so I'm dropping it. I'm not trying to say you need to be some sort of crazy person who must hand fly everything to be a dev. You can all relax. Lol, I didn't say he was successful
-
Lol I said I bet he did it manually a few times to do it, then used mechjeb. I bet he says the same as others in this thread, that it gets repetitive.
