  1. Completely, utterly, wholeheartedly disagree. I've been saying since their inclusion that contracts are the perfect method to teach new players the game.
  2. Maybe I won't need to do a blog post and I'll just add to this thread. The OP was great. I currently just made my first orbit. I'll give my opinions when I'm further in.
  3. I'm giving 1.0 a genuine shot. Career mode with no mods.
  4. Correct, but I already have a nice little plane with those parts. It is kind of odd that you don't get a LF only tank until later.
  5. How about that ladder being farther down the tech tree than the "Basic Science" node? High quality right there.
  6. I just ran into this too. Seems like an odd thing to lock behind a pay-wall.
  7. There's something to be said for time based mechanics. Take Civ 5. Sure, a farm could be built in one turn, but does it not add something to the game that it takes time? The down fall of KSP is that it lacks background processing. In Civ 5, there's always something to do while you're waiting for that farm to be built. In KSP, you have to watch the satellite scan.
  8. One of these things doesn't belong. It's on by default as well.
  9. Same. It may have affected me more than others because Challenger scarred my childhood self.
  10. It's supposed to. I'm downloading now. Will report in once installed.
  11. Kerbals have been able to jump for a while. Perhaps not to parkour standards, though.
  12. Well, I liked the 1.0 release video until they made it all about explosions. Isn't the vastness of space and the exploration of new worlds more exciting than random explosions and the imminent death of three kerbals? I get it. Some people like Micheal Bay films. Fine. I'm cool with it. I just wish more people would step up and show how cool science and space can be. Can we not leave the explosions to Battlefield trailers and have KSP, one of the few (somewhat) educational games about space, actually advertise whats so cool about space?
  13. The 1.0 up forum explosion happened while I was working! Downloading now!
  14. I am looking forward to seeing the new 1.0 tutorials.
  15. Thank goodness KSP is 1.0 now, so there shouldn't be any more save braking updates.
  16. Clamber! I feel like I'm the only one excited by clamber! Actually being able to use ladders to their fullest extant!
  17. That's why I built my robot girlfriend. She never complains.
  18. So, I'm late to the party here. The only thing I'd like to add is this: Do not excuse the failures of one company because another has done no better. The Halo: Complete Collection was horribly bugged. AC: Unity was horribly bugged. Mortal Kombat X on PC was a main menu simulator on launch. As consumers, we can not accept this behavior as the norm. We can not excuse a buggy launch because another has had even more bugs. Companies would not exist without their costumers. They only survive because they meet the standards we give them. It's your choice where those standards lies. As far as KSP, 1.0 drops today. Let's wait and see what Squad has done. As an update, it actually looks pretty good. As an official 1.0 release update, have you seen the pool at the KSC? That's the type of polish I want from a 1.0. Of course there will be bugs, but the pool is not a bug. It's a deliberate decision on the part of the developer that having fake water in a pool is OK. It is not OK. It is a lack of polish, I as a costumer, will not accept. "...but you've already paid!" Such is the risk of early access. I have to bite the bullet on that one.
  19. If you don't want feedback from your community, don't say you want feedback from your community. Squad asked for our opinions, so we give them.
