  1. Thank science not everyone thinks like you. There is no definitive version of fun. Some people like games where they kill thousands of people in around 10 hours. I do not. Yet, I will not argue whether or not they are having fun. To define fun is an exercise in futility, which is why Squads love affair with the term worries me.
  2. Any thoughts on expanding the PackRat parts? It's a nice vehicle, but there's little else to do with the parts then make the PackRat itself, with slight variations. A Chassis_Middle section could allow an extension of the frame, possibly making a trailer of sorts. I can say, from my own experience, having a number of different trailers can be quite useful when exploring the unknown. I'd love to have a more varied fleet of PackRats, PackRat trailers, PackRat IR construction vehicles, etc. etc.
  3. How else would you control it? Even hotkeys I could learn, just as docking with "wasd ijkl hn" is second nature to me now. This is turning into quite the list as well. Looks like Active Texture Management needs to be integrated into stock.
  4. It's amusing. I've shown, maybe, ten people KSP. Every time I show a re-entry, they ask about the flames. I have to tell them heat isn't implemented yet. People know what those flames mean. People know that things burn up on re-entry. I'd imagine people who just bought the game, people who don't go on these forums, re-enter expecting heat damage. It probably takes them awhile before they even realize there's no real danger in the slightest.
  5. Most mods don't actually update that much. Of the ones you've listed, only KER really updates. EVE is still on 0.24.2 and Hyperedit is on 0.23.5. All the ones you're considering are quite useful. I think you can remove lag from RemoteTech. Not sure though.
  6. It's sad how many mods I feel are necessary for KSP to reach it's potential. Kerbal Engineer Redux Altenate Resource Panel Kerbal Alarm Clock Transfer Window Planner Trajectories Notes Kalculator Precise Node Resource Details in Tracking Center RCS Build Aid Fusebox Final Frontier NavHud Ferram Aerospace Research Deadly Re-Entry Better Buoyancy Real Chutes Interstellar Flight Inc. - Kerbal Life Support RemoteTech ScanSat Navball docking alignment indicator KW Rocketry Taurus HCV Kerbal Aircraft Expansion USI Exploration Pack Stockalike parts for useful esthetics Action Group Manager TAC Fuel Balancer Tweakable Wheels Bright Utilitarian Luminescent Beacon Kerbal Attachment System Active Texture Management Distant Object Enhancement EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements Astronomer's Visual Pack: Edge of Oblivion Texture Replacer ...and a few single parts here and there. Also, my own fueled wings config. I may be missing some.
  7. I actually just tracked down the old DEMV rovers to see if they still worked.
  8. Yep. It would be much easier to compare the numbers if they were, at the very least, aligned properly.
  9. The world of mods is a wonderful one. Have fun.
  10. You're overreacting. Managing payload size is not difficult.
  11. I like it. How about an old timey radio station that talks about recent events while you're in the VAB / SPH?
  12. I have every intention of sticking with 0.90 unless something amazing happens. I'd still be on 0.24.2 if gizmos didn't exist. Already there as I'm using KW for my fairings.
  13. "There's a mod for that" shouldn't always be the answer to problems in the stock game. Though, not really sure there is a problem here.
  14. KSP is supposed to be a lego set where any part can attach to any other. A consistent art style is necessary for this. Having an oil drum attached to the SP+ or NASA parts just looks bad. The problem with the "barn" excuse is that those oil drum parts will still be relevant long after the barn is obsolete. Unless the textures get updated along with the KSC, I'd rather have parts that look good right out of the gate.
  15. It'd be nice if the rocket parts looked less like this: and more like this: The NASA parts were a step in the right direction. Let's get the other parts up to speed.
  16. I believe it's been said that Squad wouldn't do any major balancing until beta. Well, we're in beta now, so we'll see.
