parts [1.2] USI Survivability Pack (Formerly DERP) [v0.6.0]
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes, it will use the stock chute, because RealChutes is not working, and has been a thorn for me in this mod since launch, with all kinds of weirdness (in 0.25, it exploded if FAR was in the same install...). So, if you folks want to sort it out on your own, rock on. But I am not supporting RealChutes. -
parts [1.12.x] Sounding Rockets! Start small. Dream big!
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
No set target altitudes, best bet would be to compare them to stock. Though I am doing a TWR review just in case that needs more tweaking. Those records require a manned capsule. So they should not be triggered with sounding rockets. That being said, they are awesome for early science (which is their intent). -

I'm simply not going to include a config in the future. -

RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks for the data From my side, probably the only change I am considering at the moment is reviewing the TWR and doing some slight tweaking in that direction to make the SR's more in line with a stock starting SRB. RE the bug - because of how decoupling works, you should not have a booster as a root part - it will only decouple from it's parent. -

Crowd sourced science apparently breaks stuff, and not just mine. I would not recommend loading it till they sort their issues out. -

Did you look at their cost? Their intent is as science parts not contract parts to help fill in early career science at a (very) cheap cost. -
parts [1.2] USI Survivability Pack (Formerly DERP) [v0.6.0]
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Well let's put it this way - this has been the issue in the past, and trust me it works perfectly fine on my dev build which includes FAR, but not RealChutes, and this is by no means the first time this has popped up (and I thought I yoinked out support before, guess it snuck back in). Ohh.. and yeah, I can repro it if I have RealChutes installed - problem vanishes if I remove the RealChutes config. And btw - stupid_chris made my config file for me, so I doubt it's a config error but could be wrong (you never know what's been changed in RC) so if someone wants to play with it, rock on. Send a pull request. But for now, no RealChutes support because it's been the one singular mod that has caused me (almost) as much grief as Texture Replacer. - - - Updated - - - And yeah... that decoupler plus parachute works perfectly fine. It's Realchute's replacement of ModuleParachute that's likely causing grief. So nope, not going to support it. -
parts [1.2] USI Survivability Pack (Formerly DERP) [v0.6.0]
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Stock works fine for me. As i recall last time I had to deal with this, it was something with FAR+RealChutes = Sadness. So for now, less a case of replacing and more a case of 'not adding an extra config to support X - if you want to do it on your own, rock on'. -

RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yay for RealChutes. Looks like it's time to deprecate it's support once and for all, because it's been a nest of bees for me since forever, and I seem to get this every KSP release. Delete the RealChutes config if you have weirdness. I'll delete it from the release. -
[1.12.x] Alcubierre Warp Drive (Stand-alone)
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The stock fallback is one of the Experimental nodes (1000 science). Yep there are some empty nodes... Some you can fill with the K+ drives, some you can fill with an unofficial KSPI patch.- 1,694 replies

If you are on any of my 0.90 versions, there is no ORSX support - it's gone and deprecated. Correct but the dev version should have Regolith support (we just sorted this out a bit ago) but you need the LATEST version of Regolith (0.1.1) since I had to do a biome map fix. You're thinking Regolith, not ORSX as noted there is no ORSX in anything of mine for 0.90 - hence the transition in SCANSat which I've tested out and works a treat - so if you have v9.4 of SCANSat and 0.1.1 of Regolith, Karbonite and MKS and all other USI things will work correctly with pretty biome-centric resource maps.

parts [1.12.x] Asteroid Recycling Technologies
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah do NOT use that old version of Regolith, horrible things will happen as it is not 0.90 compatible. If you want an excavator, go grab AMT from the links in my sig for now (it's on the catalog page) till I can get ART taken care of - probably not till late Sunday as I am playing a concert (Mercury Lounge, lower east side at 7:30 Sunday for any of you in NYC who like indie rock). -
Umbra Space Industries - (Roadmap and WIPs)
RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Possibly an ART hatch - we'll see RE profit mining stuff - already in place with both Karborundum and MKS refineries. -

RoverDude replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
hrm. Let me take a look. For you folks having issues, try ART on a clean install and make sure you're on 0.90 and have all of the bits that come with the ZIP file. -
[1.12.x] Alcubierre Warp Drive (Stand-alone)

Fair enough, but to be honest I just don't see it happening any time soon due to the effort involved.- 1,694 replies

Depends - stuff in the wrong place, old stuff in the right place, people using mods that 'work' but are not set up for the current KSP version, people ignoring warnings, people 'fixing' things, etc. You are getting this because a part module is not loading. A part module is not loading because something is wrong with your installation (see points above). When people use this 'mod' it causes me headaches because it makes it harder for me to uncover the truth. This 'mod' is a bad idea.

[KSP 1.8.1] SCANsat [v19.1] -- Dev version [February 20, 2020]
RoverDude replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
As of 0.90, ORSX has been deprecated and all of the USI stuff moved over to Regolith (as well as several adaptions). -

Bugged asteroid. Disconnect, try to connect again. -
Universal Storage 1.4.0.0 (For KSP 1.4.x) 13th March 2018
RoverDude replied to Paul Kingtiger's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
For any generator weirdness feel free to hit up the Regolith thread too (link on the USI page in my sig) -
Guys. Please do not apply this to any USI mods. You're just masking what is an install issue, and making my job a hell of a lot harder. It will not make your stuff work. Personally, I am not a fan of this mod as it inflicts work on modders who are trying to provide support, and it masks issues. As a modder, it's better to just fix the problem
