I'm actually not seeing your issue on windows. but I'm also not seeing any clouds whatsoever. very very strange. gonna try mac shortly. if it's opengl, it would make sense i wouldn't be seeing it, windows 1.1 doesn't support opengl at the moment
@Berlin is right though @sp1989, you could setup bootcamp. It's how I run KSP, and you wouldn't even have to pay for it. The ISO is free from Microsoft, and if you sign up for the betas, from which you can choose bleeding edge, pretty much stable, or one build ahead of release. I use bleeding edge (Fast ring), and I haven't had too many issues. Not enough to get me to want to switch. And all of the betas are free, as long as you stay on the betas.
So if thats the case then it seems I am the only person trying to run SVE for 1.1 on mac. Because if OGL is the problem then it should be affecting all macs.

Ok so I deleted my entire gamedata folder. Reinstalled KSP. Verified the integrity my game cache. Re-downloaded and reinstalled scatterer and sve, and Megacity-Kerbin still stands. I gotta believe it must have something to do with OGL. If thats the case then frack.

@gkorgood you gotta turn of anti aliasing to get the mac version to work without hanging.

one thing I've noticed right off the bat is that you still have a "NASAmission" folder in GameData. That folder got dispersed into the "Squad\Parts" folder a few updates ago (the parts were moved to the appropriate folders, and the parent folder [NASAmission] was removed). You don't need that folder, unless you modified the files and prefer to use those. Just for the sake of being thorough, what version of KSP are you using (1.0.5, 1.1, etc.), in what Operating System (Windows, Mac, Linux), and using which architecture (32-bit or 64-bit)?
I'm guessing by the presence of the .DS_Store folders that you are using Mac, but I don't want to miss anything. Your particular bug, while cool looking, ruins the whole purpose of SVE.
I am using a Mac OSX EL-Capitan I am using version1.1 build 1215. I didn't realize the Nasa mission folder was no longer there. Its been there since 23.5. I figured when the game updated it would go away. So you're saying I should get rid of it?

that's why uploading your gamedata folder might help. From all that you've told us, we're all stumped as to what the problem could be. Personally, I'm curious to make sure you've installed everything correctly. I'm sure you probably have, but it can never hurt to have a second set of eyes on it, no?
I just want make sure I upload the right thing. I open the ksp folder and copy the gamedata folder to dropbox?

Honestly I have not changed my game setting substatially at all. I have turned off Antil-Alaising, and turned the render quality down one tick of stock.

I dunno man :/ Unless someone else reports the issue I can only say it's something you've done with your game
This is my settings folder. Maybe it could tell you something about the way I have my game setup. Settings.cfg https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxuyuc0bj2swm4j/settings.cfg?dl=0

Just because something is default, doesn't mean there won't be a problem This is a pre-release after all. KSP for Windows run default on DirectX 9
Its me again!! Good and bad news. Bad news I still have megacity kerbin. Good news eve and Jool are working normal and they look beautiful.

far as i know forceing any mode other than default not working. for me open gl andd dx11 forceing would cause it to freeze on random part and not counting the background while loading was a bright pink which is never good.
Macs default OpenGL and I don't think i can turn off OGL

Fudge!!!!! Alright I give up for now

It might be OGL but I can't test it given I run Windows
you can force OGL in the steam loader.

@Nhawks17 Actually I don't know why I didn't think to look but a lot of the other planets look messed up too. I am really trying to figure this out so forgive my ignorance when I make this suggestion. Scatterer has some issues with OpenGL macs run opengl by default. Could that be the problem? Also it is very possible that I am the only mac user to be trying to run SVE in 1.1 right now. Its a long shot. But if there are any other Mac users out there please speak up! Are you having these problems too?

Well I can't tell yah why SVE is doing it. Considering you're the only person who's reported it I don't know what to tell you. The only thing I can say now is to wait until the next version of SVE (hopefully coming out sometime this coming week) and see if that fixes it :/
I mean if I am installing the mod correctly. If there is nothing abnormal in my logs. Yea, dang it! Alright thanks for all your help I will just keep my fingers crossed for the next release.

I mean if they figure out the problem and repeat it on purpose they could maybe make another pack called mega city Kerbin lol. @sDaZe

Wow that looks amazing
I know right!! However its still not right. Because every square inch of land on kerbin looks like that. Even the mountains are covered in city texture. So....

Did you add the BoulderCo folder though?
There is no BoulderCo folder in it the download I have?

And without SVE?
@rbray89 Interesting....I don't have anything with just EVE installed. No clouds. No City Lights. No City Textures. Kerbin is completely stock with just environmental visual enhancements installed.
-
@Nhawks17 @rbray89 Ok so I reinstalled KSP. I verified the integrity of the game cache. I redownloaded and installed SVE and Scatterer. Here are my new logs. KSP.log https://www.dropbox.com/s/pcybc65bdg6owx6/KSP.log?dl=0 Player.log https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9pm1i59c04ycoi/Player.log?dl=0
But sadly it still doesn't seem to be working properly.
This picture in particular looks beautiful. Its just that I know its not supposed to look like that. Kerbin looks like the entire planet is a megacity all connected. I am probably doing something really stupid which is usually the case. So I apologize but if there is anything else I can do to help you help me please tell me.

@peachoftree @rbray89 yeah that's SVE. It's the current setup of the configs. I'll have an update for that sometime soon that'll fix the overexposure issue. This is why I first asked you if you changed something in how bright the cloud layers were rbray But I've fixed them, just haven't been able to finish it up for a release.
It should work with the EnviromentalVisualEnhancements folder that I have included in my download. I really don't know what's going on with your game
Is there anything else I could give you to figure it out?
-
Because of some sort of glitch with SVE I accidentally created Mustafar
-
Hype people!! The bug tracker is is getting there based on the progress I would say would could see a proper release as early as Sunday. That would be really nice. Even though the devnotes said one more week. Tuesday is more likely.
-
Is it possible that the problem is as simple as a missing folder? I downloaded version 5.7 just to see if anything was different. This is the 5.7 folder Enviormentalvisualenhancments plugins folder
This is the 5.8 folder. It seems the PartFX.dll is missing
@Nhawks17 is it possible a missing file like that could be causing the over textured terrains? Interesting as that its only affecting me but still?

I have to thank you all immensely for your hard work. The effort you all have put in to help just me has been truly appreciated and the care by you have all given just galvanizes my love for the KSP community. Sadly though I deleted local content through steam and reinstalled ksp. I have deleted everything from my ksp folder, then deleted the local content through steam and then reinstalled it through steam. I installed just SVE and alas its still mega-city kerbin. I just don't know what is wrong and I feel I am following all of your instructions correctly. This is immensely frustrating but I am sure I will eventually resolve it by discovering some stupid error in the future. Please don't give up on me because maybe there is something we are all missing but it just seems like I am a no go for using SVE at the moment. I will keep trying, out of curiosity I am going to see if I can get it to work in 1.0.5 but I doubt that it will even load. Ill make sure to use the proper version. Thank you all again.
