I had some success with watching the time until periapsis apoapsis and lowering thrust when it moves away into the future. Requires some fiddling, and takes a while to complete.

+1 on adding some green stuff to Laythe. Maybe in weird shapes, to make it look alien.

Too much thrust is when 1 VSYNC period is longer than your transfer burn.

Watched Eve demolish my landers.

At 12km/s it gets a bit difficult to maintain tolerable G levels. There's just not enough atmosphere to brake at 5G...
