  1. Because you can create anything you imagine, get it into any planet you'd like, then land it on top of a spiky mountain or a deep crater. I was looking for a game like this for alot of time, getting dissapointed every time i saw a promising game, but with sci-fi aircraft, instant stop every time you stop thrusting and random battles, and now that i found it i won't stop playing!
  2. Its nice to see new players think its better to play by themselves, other than pressing buttons and letting MechJeb do all the work I suggest TextureReplacer, its nice to have, you can change textures to Kerbals, planets, and pretty much everything, you can make Kerbals have custom or random faces, and in (breathable) atmospheres they have no helmet. The only problem, its not very easy to customize everything, but when you finish customizating, you can enjoy your custom Kerbals without helmet Also, don't worry about adding mods, all it takes is RAM, not CPU, so no lag, but if you install too many mods you end up running out of RAM, thus crashing the game, if that happens i suggest installing Active Texture Management (ATM), it reduces RAM consumption so you can install more mods!
  3. Just make sure to not exagerate with the mods, to make it playable for everyone, even people with low RAM I'll delete all mods in one of my multiple KSP folders and i'll try the alpha ... Oh yea and install all the required mods lol
  4. Are you using any mods? Or rather, are you using FAR?
  5. I play with a keyboard, i never had a joystick so that may explain that
  6. Or rather go "Forget the links!" and google "Hohmann transfer" to know what the guy is talking about lol
  7. Why orbital capable? I would preffer a sub-orbital flight alot, you can attach a camera and a home-made parachute with some fancy remote controlled thing to deploy it, you launch the rocket as high as you can, and then you can see it burning on the atmosphere, or even better see it come back and land! Now, an orbital flight is just dreaming too much, the deltaV requirements are too high for a single stage rocket, and even if you could make an SSTO, you would never get to see the probe again so yea
  8. Floor 730: You got to the top! Suddenly you hear an explosion, and more staircase begins to grow!
  9. Ahh, i remember seeing this mod, long time ago, now it seems you made it way better! Have to actually test this, last time i tested i was trying to put a plane on top of another plane and trying to fly in formation, it didn't worked out lol Now that i see you made it so that spacecraft don't drift away, i'll have to test a multiple landing mission on the Mun, and then a multiple parachute landing on Kerbin
  10. Yea, leaving the barrel-filled-with-TNT (RT-10) and the aluminium-cone-with-some-fancy-rubber-tubes (LV-T30) is ok, as you more or likely will be focused on putting a kog/kanine inside of a kardboard box and glueing that to a plane, right? Kerbal technology is the best!
  11. Will follow this until its finished! I was looking at the start tech image, i don't really like that rockets are there, maybe having them on the 2nd node? As to be forced to make a rover OR a plane before advancing to rocketry, more or likely what we (Humans) have done so far
  12. I've wanting to post something here for a while, but all my rovers are quite dissapointing, so i decided to make a walker... Then i notice someone already posted a walker right on top of my other walker... Anyways, here it is, on Eve! Had a couple of issues, as for example having my landing legs upside-down, forgetting parachutes (Didn't knew where to land on, choosen Eve randomly, then noticed i didn't had chutes... While doing my circularization burn...) 2 things to mention, it was my first time landing on Eve, and for the sake of just showing/testing the "rover" in another enviroment, i cheated my way there using infinite fuel
  13. Yea, the ladder is pretty much on the opposite side of where it should be, if you REALLY want to make this mission work out, i suggest to try pressing ALT-F12, hacking gravity for a moment, getting in (Correctly this time), and unhacking gravity as you get inside, if not, i don't know what you can do. Next time try the rover on Kerbin first
  14. Yea, idle animations, awesome, but auto-moving Kerbals would be fun, but just to a point, it would just mess up everything, imagine carefully putting 10 kerbals into a line, and then noticing they're wanting to walk around in a messy way... Now, this got me thinking, maybe on a future update they can add animations to EVA reports, surface samples and maybe interacting with other things, as for example removing science from an experiment (An easy "grab and put in space-pocket" animation can work on this) and repairing wheels (Same animation as grabbing science, but reversed?). But i doubt we'll be seeing this in near future updates, maybe in 1.0.0, but in the meantime is better to focus on getting the game finished
  15. Wow, never seen a MK2 extension that looks so awesome! So B9ey! haven't tested yet, but do the RCS ports actually work? I don't really care too much, i never use RCS other than for docking anyways. Something i really like, you did 2 cockpits, a stackable one and a pointy one, just like stock! Can't wait to test it
  16. Right click the ladded in VAB/SPH and click "Deploy", that should work, now with Tweakables they made it so they start closed by default inside of the VAB/SPH
  17. Jones: "Here Jones Kerman reporting from in, im seeing the UFO, im 2km away from it, aproaching in at 10m/s... Ok im now 1km away.... 500m... 100m... Okay, RCS fired, relative velocities 0.1m/s, EVA'ing to get a closer look..." Hatch opens, Jones Kerman gets out and sees the strange object.. Jones: "It appears to be a black-ish cone with a white thing on top and... Wait im getting a signal!..." Unknown: "Hello?! HELLO?!?! SOMEONE?!?! ANYONE?!?!!!" Jones: "Here Jones Kerman from the Kerbals... Umm why you sound like Jebediah Kerman?" Jebediah: "I AM JEB! GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!, I HAVE BEEN OUT HERE FOR LIKE 6 YEARS!!11!!" Jones: "Ok, Mission Control, its not an UFO, its just Jeb on a capsule" Mission Control: "Ok get out of there" Jebediah: "WAIT NOO DON'T LEAVE ME HERfj16&!"(KN *Signal ends*" Aaaand that's what happened
  18. We would lose anyways, compared to us, Kerbal weaponry is way too exagerated, just imagine, they would send ICSRBs, tons of them in a short amount of time, also orbital-drop nuclear "bombs" (aka. some RTGs and LV-Ns attached to a structural plate), and let's not forget about SRBs with tons of seats around it... Getting back on topic This change is small, but quite nice to have, to be fair most people call Kerbol erm... Kerbol, and i don't think it would be too much of a problem to put a code to display the name Kerbol, while in the game's code is still called Sun
  19. I get a "Connection Error" message when trying to join your server, the full message is: Connection error: Can not establish a connection because the target machine actively refused that address And also, if Google Translate messed that up, original message (Its on spanish...) Connection error: No se puede establecer una conexion ya que el equipo de destino denego expresamente dicha direccion Any idea of why that happens?
  20. Umm... Lets see... 1. Learned that docking is not as hard as most people think it is, did my first docking on my second try and i was so happy! 2. Learned that mods don't really help that much if you're a newbie, a bit of reading on the forums and some videos are way better to learn actually, never used MechJeb and im proud of it. 3. Learned that before dropping a probe from a 2-probe vessel, first deploy solar panels, this happened while i separated my Duna lander from my Duna orbiter, forget to deploy solar panels on the orbiter, it's batteries were drained when i decoupled 4. Learned that you don't need a huge, 400 parts craft to go interplanetary, went to Duna with a fairly small craft without much trouble... Aaand that's all i can remember... Yea
  21. You can do that with an FL-T100, a 48-7S on the bottom and a probe core on the top, easy as that... Now, if you actually saw the video, you would know, that that's not the way to do it
  22. Dres is boring, its just a rock with some craters and canyons, and it looks like one of the most visited objects in the Kerbol system by the Kerbals, the Mun, so yea its quite boring Eeloo is awesome, its a white ball of ice with brown craters, always reminds me of coffee () and it's based on my favorite moon, Europa So, loneliest is Eeloo, if we're talking about how much company (planets) it has nearby. If we're talking about how frequent people visit it, then Dres.
  23. It looks awesome!, im terrified of insects, but i love mechanical ones! Great job!
  24. Im 12 too, i haven't done too much though, i sended alot of Mun landers and rovers, landed on Minmus, went to Duna with a near-replica of the Viking 1 (or 2), went to Jool and performed a fly-by of Tylo, Laythe and Vall, and not too much more. I am more of making planes and trucks (that never leave Kerbin), i also did my first successful SSTO the last week or so... And also ALOT of orbital satellites of Kerbin, a few on the Mun, 1 on Duna (The one i deployed while doing Viking 1... That i forget about solar panels) and i don't know what more. As you said, all you need is patience and interest, you're not gonna get anywhere if all your interest in space is shooting and fighting, or if you don't have the patience to learn orbital mechanics
  25. Wow... The first thing that came into my mind was a godzilla-sized Kerbal destroying all the buildings screaming "WHERE ARE THE SNAAAAACKS?!?!" lol
