Sign me up!
It's definitely getting there, I have more work to do before it's ready. But the engine effects are where I want them, and the hover system is working, though it tends to rev the engines. For an initial release that's ok, but I want a steady engine thrust. It also has issues with holding its pitch, but that too can be overcome with some finesse. And You can't just strap the wings on your back via KIS and fly away; I haven't figured out how to point straight with stability assist because kerbals on EVA don't "fly" the same as an aircraft. And I am cleaning up the context menu... All that said, it flies, it can hover, it can make precision landings thanks to its RCS thrusters, and you can switch between LiquidFuel/IntakeAir for great range on Kerbin and Laythe, or MonoPropellant for mediocre range on Duna and Eve. And it has accessories that can be attached via KIS. Hopefully it is a worthy successor to the discontinued KerbolQuest winged jet pack... I'll be needing test pilots soon... :) -

What happens if you land a craft on the ground and just surface attach the Pathfinder modules to it? Do you get the exploive bade issue as well? I am also starting to think that many locations are not suited to large bases, and you need clusters of smaller bases with some kind of resource distribution. Maybe have some expandable camper shell for the Buffalo that serves as a foundation for the base with an adapter for the other modules.. -
Glad you like the mod. :) I strive to make my artwork look stock, and aim for quality similar work by PorkJet or Neartea- I admire their art. My aim for DSEV, MOLE, and Buffalo is to provide parts that give a similar look and feel to NASA's exploration craft but adopt the kerbal look and approach, so parts are asmodular as I can make them. DSEV is due for an overhaul to improve performance but will need to wait until I can get Pathfinder stabilized. Still having issues with bases exploding upon loading and such.. as for the centrifugal force, I would assume that KSP is using real-world physics but I don't honestly know. I tend to put Masscon parts on the counterspin ring that match the mass on the hub, then spin it in the opposite direction and let the Spindle's torque module deal with the rest. That mostly works. I do have plans for an animated centrifuge similar to the Discovery II and one designed for the Nautilis, but I have to finish some other parts first. Sadly I can't create mods for a living so it will take some time to finish the parts..
I keep breaking it. :( http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b442/wgmount/Flatbed_zpsfr7lhzl3.jpg what am i doing wrong here. the module is 13 tons
It could be how the game node-attached the parts. It's possible that there are too many nodes on the chassis and that confuses the game so that it doesn't know what node to use to attach. I'll have to investigate that in a future release. Thanks for the feedback. :)

More inspiration for me: Now that I've cracked through the blockers, I'm getting the JetWing ready for more test pilots. :) -
the cooling tower depends on any other mod? because mine automatically inflate and i cant deflate or use it
That sounds like a bug. I will have that fixed next update. Thanks for the feedback. :)- 3,523 replies
I am finding that the new 3.75m experimental muncrete slabs are suffering from the bounce on load bug. I built a large base on a 5x15 muncrete patio. When I flew in with some more supplies the hole thing kicked like a wave flinging the entire base and a couple of kerbals on the patio about 500m into the air and exploding a few of the slabs. I am using Kerbal Joint Reinforcement if that helps.
That could be the local terrain. Some areas are fine, others not so much. Unfortunately it's hit or miss; I have two test bases on Duna, for instance, and one is solidly attached to the ground while the other needs to rest on the surface without being attached. It's an ongoing struggle to find something that works well in all situations so for now, if you notice your base getting jumpy after timewarps, don't just immediately stop the timewarp, give the game time to lower the warp down to 5x and then ease back into 1x. Meanwhile, progress! :) -

@Kuzzter: Lt Kernel Mitch Kerman asked me to request a story featuring the secretive KSMC. He'd like to know more. Apparently it's so secretive even he doesn't know much... And if you're going to test-drive stuff:

I've been getting a few inquiries about the status of the JetWing. After attempting to make it work simply by strapping it to the kerbal's back via KIS and flying away, I've concluded that the game's flight controls won't let me engage SAS and fly straight despite my best efforts. It might still be possible but I don't know how. I haven't given up entirely upon that approach. The external command seat approach however... Since I'm doing this from scratch there is more work to be done. But as you can see I'm definitely getting there!

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately without logs I can't be of help. It does sound like the location you're at is not conducive to having parts attached to the ground. Have you tried just laying the base onto the ground without attaching it? I've not had an issue with the Ponderosa; I can enter and leave the module either by clicking on the door or clicking on the portrait button. Do you have specifics on what happened?- 3,523 replies

What's the difference between flowMode and transfer? I noticed there are new fields in the resources.

[Min KSP: 1.12.2] Pathfinder - Space Camping & Geoscience

Thanks for the feedback. The Smoke Pipe works just like the flat radiator panels that don't unfold; if you have steam coming out of the top of the Smoke Pipe then it is working properly. Thus far I haven't figured out how to indicate that the part is cooling. I may have to fake a folding radiator panel so I can get some status text. Terrain is definitely a factor with your collision woes. I have one base on Duna that is just find with a Saddle bolted to the ground and another that would explode if I bolted a Saddle to the ground. In the latter case I had to just lay the base onto the ground. Finding a universal solution to varied terrain has proven problematic. Thus far I've found that if the base shakes after returning from timewarp, chances are the area is a good location to not bolt the saddle into the ground. If the base jumps into the air upon loading, that may mean you need a smaller base. I found some more bugs that I fixed today as well, such as the greenhouse not recognizing the skill of the occupant, and the EPL RocketParts maker stopping when ScrapMetal gets full. Both will be fixed in the next update.- 3,523 replies

Get the latest here. 0.9.3 - Increased the node size on all the base attachment nodes. Chuckwagon - Moved center of mass for the Chuckwagon to the center of the dome. - Adjusted storage capacity after taking a closer look at the mesh's volume. No more Tardis Chuckwagon... Bug Fixes - You can now carry the Smoke Pipe. - Some inflatable modules have resources that are kept even when switching templates. Now, those resources won't be affected by the part being inflated or deflated. -

Yes, absolutely. I don't know if the rest of the KSMC is like this, but Mitch has fashion sense.
